Mid-Summer Recap: Gun Fights and Gringos

Well, I have been a complete slacker so far this summer; but after being chastised by a certain sister-in-law, I decided to give an update of the summer thus far. We spent the first half of the summer in Tucson. While we were there, we went to Tombstone--I couldn't resist since I love the movie--and saw a reenactment of the OK corral shootout. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly--at least I did and Kylie did when the shooting started--and the actor that played Doc Holliday played the part nearly perfectly.

The Shootout.

While in Tucson, Lacie and Callie (Kyle's Fiance at the time, now wife) decide we should drive to Mexico to Puerto Penasco and hit the beach, so we did. This has been the year of beaches for us; we have now been to South Miami Beach, Ft. Lauderdale Beach, Vanderbilt Beach (Naples, FL), and Rocky Point in Mexico. We had a great time. There were no waves and we were able to just sit in the water and relax. The water, by the way, was roughly 85 degrees--you can imagine how bad that sucked. The best part, however, was that we paid five bucks and went on a banana-boat ride. We knew Kylie would get scared, so we all yelled "whooo" the entire time, so she would understand that it was meant to be fun. Sure enough, with a horrified look on her face, she yelled along with us "whooo" and "yaaaay" and tried to have fun.
