Christmas Morning

Christmas morning started early around 6:00, but Bryan and I heard some excited children around 2:00 am that must have convinced themselves to go back to bed or their parents would maybe considering sending the presents back to the North Pole. It would appear that Santa's sleigh crashed in our living room and Santa has a forgiving heart and may have looked over some behaviors. :) These kids make Christmas so much fun.

We dined on our traditional New England Boiled Dinner, but I failed to take a single picture of that! Funny memory from that dinner was the ham juices turning blue! Evidently, the pot that Emma had used at a friend's to dye some sweats was not all the way out of the pan!  I tossed ice in the juices and as the fat solidified, it took the dye with it. It was quite concerning and funny all at the same time. :)

One of my favorite gifts to Bryan to always remember Christmas 2019 when we had some plumbing disasters!! :)

Christmas Eve 2020

I love Christmas Eve. I love our family's Christmas Eve traditions. Sugar cookies for Santa. Family party with new pajamas, games/movie and reading the Christmas story. This year, Emma and Luke came up with their own Christmas duet. Also, Emma and Myles sang a song for the primary. Good, uplifting music always brings the spirit into our home.

More Christmas Lights

This was the year that we found so many fun Christmas Lights! In Franktown, about 20 minutes away, there is a family that decorates their property with hundreds of thousands of lights all on their own. It's free for the public to enjoy. It is quite amazing. It was a night that turned out to be even better than expected. Grateful for kind people putting light and kindness into the world.

Puzzles and Hot Cocoa

We spent some of our time during the Christmas break doing puzzles. We were definitely trying to keep both of our feet on the ground for a week or two after our string of bad luck. :) We also loved using our Cocoa-Motion to enjoy frothy hot cocoa with our cute gingerbread man who hung out on the side of our cup.

...and Luke makes THREE!

The saying that bad luck comes in three, rang true for us in a 5-day period. Luke was sledding with a friend on a hill covered with more dirt/rocks than snow. Unfortunately he took a header off of his sled and stopped by using his face. Poor kiddo. When my friend picked them up he said he didn't want to go home, but as they FaceTimed me, I could see some tears welling in his eyes and asked if he wanted to come home and he replied, "yes." I got him home and through some effort, got him into an oral surgeon (who also stitched up his chin in June) for 7-10 stitches in his mouth. He had to be on a soft food diet for 5-7 days and was pretty good to roll with it, even over Christmas. We're ready to be less involved with the healthcare world! :)
