Sometimes I am really amazed by how '
enthu' our new batch of
freshies are.
It was just a normal Friday night. I was chatting a few C-
towners when a very excited Gloria rushed in and asked: "Hey, do you want to eat
durians at
Geylang?" Despite for our stunned looks, she continue to persuade us for a long time. Finally, I gave way to the temptation, and decided to abandon my diet plans. I went to the lobby to meet up with her, and to my surprise, I found a bunch of them already down there waiting for us. It seems that the reasons for this "midnight outing" were one of them had a craving for
durians while jogging together (my guess is Gloria), and to introduce Chris, who had never had any
durians before, to the king of the fruits.
The group then discussed for the best and cheapest way to
Geylang. They woke a sleepy Matt up, and tried to make him drive the rag's lorry for us. Unfortunately, the lorry's windscreen was broken, and was unsuitable for the trip. Undeterred, the group decided to sacrifice their wallet for the sake of their friends (and the food) and took a taxi. I took the same cab with Chris and Min
Oo, the latter filling Chris with myths of
durians (
"The first time I try it, it tastes like shit, but the second time it tastes much better. But it still smells like shit.") during the journey to our destination...
Here are some pictures that will tell the rest of the story.
