Laundry update

Laundry update boys and girls.

Washer 07 and Washer 01 has a weak spindle. Do not wash more than half load or clothes which are too heavy. It'll result in your clothes swinging around instead of the good 'ol tumbling.

Laundry hero, out.

C-touched =)

Yesterday marks the end of SNDC and also my job. However, I really want to thank the block for their help in the event itself especially when my comm is working on a 10 men team..

Yesterday also marks one of the few days in hall which really touches me a lot.. Many thanks for those who helped with the serving of food -- tatchin, matt, horace, zhang ren, alex, zhen lin, yong lun~.. (nv miss out anyone rite =P The other 2 helpers -- boon seng and yong sim are from E and A)

and of coz the unconditional help in the clearing and arrangement of the comm hall table.. Just a bit emo on my part.. felt v grateful when i see nearly all the guys in the blk helping to move the tables back.. This support is really v required and timely and if not for all of you, we would have worked our way till 2am in the morning.. Special thanks also to samson, joey who helped me to clear while in their formal clothes! =)

Thanks guys!! =)

As for me .. ORD LOH! Jio me for more block suppers k!! (oh..! dont let sandra know k!! =X)

Midnight Durian Supper!!!

Sometimes I am really amazed by how 'enthu' our new batch of freshies are.

It was just a normal Friday night. I was chatting a few C-towners when a very excited Gloria rushed in and asked: "Hey, do you want to eat durians at Geylang?" Despite for our stunned looks, she continue to persuade us for a long time. Finally, I gave way to the temptation, and decided to abandon my diet plans. I went to the lobby to meet up with her, and to my surprise, I found a bunch of them already down there waiting for us. It seems that the reasons for this "midnight outing" were one of them had a craving for durians while jogging together (my guess is Gloria), and to introduce Chris, who had never had any durians before, to the king of the fruits.

The group then discussed for the best and cheapest way to Geylang. They woke a sleepy Matt up, and tried to make him drive the rag's lorry for us. Unfortunately, the lorry's windscreen was broken, and was unsuitable for the trip. Undeterred, the group decided to sacrifice their wallet for the sake of their friends (and the food) and took a taxi. I took the same cab with Chris and Min Oo, the latter filling Chris with myths of durians ("The first time I try it, it tastes like shit, but the second time it tastes much better. But it still smells like shit.") during the journey to our destination...

Here are some pictures that will tell the rest of the story.

Durians, durians and durians

oh...don't they make you drool?

From left: Gloria, Pei Shan, Jason, Zhen Lin(not me!!!)

And if the durian expedition was not enough... go for Xiao Long Baos!!!

The Xiao Long Bao Squad #1

The Xiao Long Bao Squad #2

Gloria's satisfied expression after eating a you char kuey

the 6th... maybe the seventh tray of xiao long baos

as I always say, you char kuey goes best with hot soy bean milk!

What can be impossible for these freshies?

Jiayou for IBG!!!

Laundry Room 101 (Not in binary)

These are some of my suggestions that I've learned over the years that anyone may follow to make washing laundry a much easier experience.

Pre Wash
1. Detergent in the middle compartment, softener on the extreme right. Recommended: Low studs washing powder or liquid washing detergent.

2. Turn knob to number 2 for a long wash, or number 3 for a shorter wash.

Wash
1. Looking at your laundry spinning is supposed to be therapeutic. I highly recommend it too to check that the spindle is not spoiled and your clothes are spinning.

2. Put your laundry bag near your washer and use the clothes peg to indicate your laundry bag. Do not worry unnecessary about someone stealing your laundry bag unless your laundry bag is genuine LV.

Post Wash / Dryer
1. Sort clothes into dryer. Do remember that the dryer shrinks most cotton shirts/tee-shirts so do not put those in if you don't want to look like incredible hulk when you flex your manly muscles.

2. As with Wash Step 2, put your laundry bag near your dryer and use the clothes peg to indicate your laundry bag.

Exceptional Cases
  • In the event that you die die have to take your clothes out mid way through the washing cycle and cause a major spill of detergent water all over the floor, go ahead. But, clean up the spill with a mop that is just beside the washroom. Take what you need from your washer, close it and turn the knob to number 5 so the water can drain off and the next person can use the washer.
  • We all have our urgent laundry period from time to time. Washing 2 t-shirts in one washing machine does NOT contribute to saving water, it also takes up a whole machine. Save Singapore water please.
  • You need the dryer/washer, but somebody did not leave his/her LV laundry bag there. Be kind, there're plastic bags near the door to put the clothes in. Do NOT grab someone's laundry bag to store them.
  • If there are no plastic bags to store the laundry, do NOT grab someone's laundry bag to store them. Also, do NOT put their clean laundry on the washing machine or dryer. Leave it and wait for another machine. If you are in a huge rush, put the person's laundry in your bag while you use the dryer. Leave a note to say you can't find his/her LV laundry bag so his/her laundry are in your bag.
I hope everyone has a pleasent time doing their laundry. Cheers!
