Block C's new residents

If you thought our lounge is quiet and dead, check out the number of slippers outside our lounge at 1am yesterday. Notice the ONLY pair of slippers owned by a female Block C resident among the throng of guy slippers. To all the girls wondering who the lucky girl is, check out the next picture.
Our dear block head Joyce Huang! Being showered by the attention of all the new C-towners! From right, we have Terence, Swee Foo, Chris, Alvin (lvl 6), Jie Wei and Alvin (lvl 4, back facing the picture). Thats right people, it is indeed our dear Joyce with all these hot guys =)Here we see Joyce flash a winning smile. The girl has just won a 'self-touch' 2 tai against her much more accomplished opponents (for those who don't understand, feel free to consult any of our blk's mahjong experts). The guys can only look on in disbelief as lady luck continues to smile over Joyce as her winnin streak continues.
This orange paper is the score sheet. For those who can't see the scores, Joyce has been offered the 'Kenneth package' and is now up by an amazing $8.40.
A very happy Joyce poses for the camera. Not only is she winning big, she spends the night with many guys accompanying her. To the rest of the girls in blk c, our new guys are nice and friendly and very willing to make new friends. If Joyce can do it so can you! Lets make our new residents know how warm and friendly Block C is.

Our hardworking block head

It's tough being block head.. All the late nights, meetings with block comm, then meetings with the council of blockheads, thinking of nice food to cook for suppers, trying not to get ponded, trying to keep up with school work.. Being block head means working every minute, every second for the block.

No wonder she's so tired.

To Joyce, our beloved block head. ;)

Exchange FAQs

As my first post since being overseas on exchange, I have decided to whine about certain random stuff about why we should appreciate NUS. No serious, appreciate NUS and Singapore.

1. NUS loves you. Thats why printing notes is cheap. And for computing students, we even have free 50 pages per month to print. Its CAD$0.12 cents per page here. That is roughly SGD$0.18 per page.

2. NUS canteen food is cheap! And you can get food from western to Indian, or even Thai and Vietnamese in some canteen. An average canteen meal here cost CAD$8 with a drink.

3. Yeah sure, NUS has weird buildings. But it has linkways and shelters at most bus stops. We walk in the frigid cold from building to building here.

4. You think the LTs in NUS are small and cramp? I can feel my knees on the seat below when sitting upright on the seat here. And I always thought "ang mohs" were bigger in size.

5. Freaking buses come once every 30mins. Its also freaking -5 degrees out there. It'll be -15 this Sunday. Hooray.

6. The official cheer of the university is "Water Water Water!" and someone else will go "Loo Loo Loo!".

7. Textbooks are an average of CAD$100. Thats almost SGD$150. I'll never complain about textbook prices in Singapore again.

8. A nice NUS foolscap paper will cost $2 - $3. Here, an ugly, thin measly 50 sheets of foolscap with no sign of any prestigious school logo on it will cost $6.

9. Toilets everywhere supply nice ONE-ply toilet paper. How many times do you have to fold them so you won't get shit on your hands?

10. Ever wonder if the locked cubicle in the toilet has anyone inside? Here, we have no such worries. The doors and walls only start from the height of your knees to slightly above your head. If you're ahbi, ian or darius, then its below your head. Its "heartening" to know that the world outside your cubicle has a clear view of your underwear when you're sitting on the bowl.

But I'm still having fun. =)

We're in school!

THE "ONION" AND THE "CHRISTMAS TREE"...

The family is sitting at the dinner table.

The son asks his father, "Dad, how many kinds of boobies are there?"
The father, surprised, answers, "Well son, there's three kinds of breasts. In her 20s, a woman's breasts are like melons, round & firm. In her 30s & 40s, they are like pears, still nice, but hanging a bit. After 50s , they are like onions."
"Onions?"
"Yes, you see them, and they make you cry."

This infuriated his wife and daughter so the daughter says, "Mom, how many types of "willies" are there?"
The mother, surprised, smiles and answers, "Well dear, a man goes through three phases. In his 20s, his willie is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his 30s & 40s, it's like a birch tree, flexible but reliable. After his 50s , it is like a Christmas tree.! "
"A Christmas tree??"
"Yes dear, dead from the root up and the balls are for decoration only."

More -18degrees photos!

The oktoberfest heritage time-teller in the middle of Uptown Waterloo. Amazing how they have a monument for beer right. Haha. Waterloo's historically a German Town, so I guess that explains it.

Enjoying a can of Waterloo Dark in front of a church =D

Um. Snow.
There's this clown with us. Japheth got him to take a photo for us and he captured me in the photo. Turned out pretty good though!

Anyway, good luck bidding for your modules =)
