The demise of Blk C Diary

yes, it has always been this way.

New gadgets replacing old ones,
new boyfriend displacing previous one,
Novelty of new ideas challenging the foundations of old theses.

It has always been.

But must it always be?

Must all things old be condemned? Is there no value still significant in old things?

Then who should decide what is branded "old"? how does such a yardstick works?

I grieve for people who only look ahead, with no regard to what brought them there in the 1st place.

I grieve for the demise of our BLK C diary.

Good bye and damned you are, cos the forum has replaced you.

For the Forum promises much better participation from all than u.

For the simple fact that you are no more in need.

To all the authors of past posts, i suggest u copy ur piece in one little file called: obsolete writings.

Cos tts how previous old posts are being treated here.

I grieve.

Of balls and spins

If you've missed Friday's table tennis match, then you'd probably wanna bang your head at the wall behind block C. Simply because you have just missed the event of the IBG season thus far. Table tennis is always a joy to watch as it seemed impossibly entertaining to see tiny balls being curved, spinning in all directions conceivable only to God.

Block C traditionally is a major force to be reckoned with in table tennis, with the plethora of our IHG players making significant impacts in our games. Today is no less different. As we go against block A and block B for both guys and girls event, we're treated with a galore of fantastic ball plays.

The guys dominated both their matches, gunning down block A with relative ease, and finishing off block B without a sweat. OK, so block B gave us a scare, but that's OK 'cause our guys rock big time out there today.

The girls did not have such good runs, as they were defeated in both their encounters with block A and block B respectively. But that's OK, as always, they gave their best. What matters is that they enjoyed the games, and didn't have even a tinge of regret. No doubt, there were tears, and of course half-smiles, but in the end, we all know, you know, you tried your best. So girls heads up high.

The focus today was the final between block C guys and block D guys. Both teams were tensed, and were greatly supported by their every ready, loud-cheering supporters. Block C got off to a good start, only to falter in the first game, losing both sets to block D. Block C continued to fight well, but really could not done anything more than just holding their ground to give block D a run for their money. Even their super senior admitted that block C had had a good run so far, and is worthy of a champ.

In the end, after the dust settled, block C had to be contented with a second place. But this second place is a close one, as I strongly believe that in any other day, block C could have taken the 5-point home.
