Wow, today was...Interesting! I woke up, and right away everything was different. Normally when I get up, everyone is grouchy and a bleary-eyed mom take me out to pee. Not today. This morning as soon as I woke up, mommy, my aunt, and two of my uncles all met me with gusto, apparently congratulating me for something. (I have no idea what for...They just kept saying "Merry Christmas, Blitz!") Then after mom, my aunt, my four uncles, and my grandma and grandpa all opened their stockings, mom presented me with a humongo jar of dog treats. And the jar is really heavy duty, too. Then, my Grandpa read the first few chapters in Luke. I was whiny there...One second I was getting the attention of my life, and the next I was being ignored! Then everyone opened their presents. (I'm not allowed in the living room, and mom didn't make any exceptions today...So I sat at the edge and watched from there.) Everyone was SOO happy. When all the presents were opened, things quieted down while everyone was playing with their new stuff. (Matthew (3) with all his submarine playmobile, "laptop," (One of those leapfrog things) and kitchen equipment, Morgan (5) with his doctor playmobile and various other toys, Keliann (10) with her new iPod and camera, (Ya, I know...An iPod for a ten year-old?) Kasey (14...Mom!) with her new vet computer game, iPod headphones, backpack for schoolwork, GDA sweatshirt and socks, and a bunch of other stuff, Brooklin (15) with his new camera, Garth Brooks CD, and poster, Braden (18) with his new watch (A replica aviators watch) and camera, Grandma (Age...Not telling!) with her new backer-upper for the car, and Grandpa with his new charger-organizer!)
For a while, it was quiet. But then everyone started cleaning up, because a family was coming over! I got put in the crate, because the family has little kids who are afraid of dogs. (No matter HOW nice or gentle.) So, basically I missed out on the rest of Christmas! But it was lots of fun, anyway!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Animals (birds, squirrels, etc.): Fine
Loud Sounds: good
Traffic: Walked nicely on busy street
New handler: responded well
Other (Stairs, kids, sniffing, etc.): Walked nicely with a loose leash
Obedience response
Name: good
sit: good
down: good
stay: easily distracted
(Formal) come: good for age
General Handling
Energy level: moderate
response to correction: good
Behavior in establishments: good
Overall stress: minimal
Connents/Recommendations: Dog responded well overall in new area with new handler. Walked nicely on a loose leash throughout walk. Responded to commands when other dogs were present. Good response to obedience commands for age. Continue to expose dog to new areas as he matures.
Recommend Re-evaluation: Not at this time
WHOO! He did great! I'm really excited about this report. I agree with the stay, though. He needs some work at not being distracted when in the stay. When he's right next to me, he barely ever gets distracted. But in the stay...It's a little different. Oh well, we'll be working on that over the next few weeks!!

Blitz got dropped off...
For his evals. This is SO nervewracking. Mind you...Jaylie was this age when she was dropped. She never went in for her evals. She went in to be spayed, and the next day they called to tell us they were dropping her.
While Blitz is gone, I want to get him a nice leather collar, instead of the nylon one's he's been wearing. I've decided to make this a new tradition...When my pups are nine months old, they will be old enough to have a real leather collar. I had bought Jaylie her leather collar the DAY she went in to be spayed...Then she was dropped. She still wears it.
Gotta love this face...

I'll update thursday with the report!

Christmas Party!!
Hey, this is Kasey, posting about today's annual guide dog Christmas party. It was a huge blast, and it's been a while since I've been to any puppy meeting. (I have classes on wednesday nights.) It was GREAT to see everyone and their dogs. Suzanne has a new pup, Gunnar, and he's already four and a half months, and in the big jacket! I couldn't believe it. Dogs don't usually fit into the jackets until around six months. Orion is absolutely HUGE, and so gorgeous. It took a couple times of passing him to realize who it was. (Orion is a German Shepherd, and simply BEAUTIFUL. I love the shepherds. Almost as much as labs, lol.)
We had a great time. We went with the Jewells, who also brought Geoppus (At least I think that's how you spell his name.) and his guide dog, Walden. Walden's a big cutie, and such a baby. On the way there, it was just Blitz, and since Walden didn't play with him, Blitz just went to sleep. But on the way back, we had Harley. So we had all three dogs in the back, and after a while Walden got so tired of the "babies" (Who HAPPEN to be eight and sixteen months!) that he jumped over the seat and stayed in Geoppus's lap the rest of the trip.
At the party we got to see Ella, one of Blitz's littermates, as well as two of the raisers of his littermates. One of them didn't have her, (Avalon is her name.) and the other had just brought him to the kennels for Evals. (A.J.) A.J. used to be Anakin, but his original puppy raisers grew tired of him and listed as "Unmanageable." He was rehomed, and didn't even know his name because the original raisers called him different names. (Annie, kin, etc.) So they renamed him. Avalon is hospitalized because she has been vomiting, and when given a prescription, kept on doing it. So, they're looking at her closer. Hopefully she'll be alright...She's a sweetie!
We got pictures with Santa...But don't have them yet! They need to email them to me. As soon as I get it, I'll post it here. Every year they have a candy-cane competition. Each dog is given three candy canes to give away to any dog that they think is being well behaved. We came in SECOND! Out of a million puppies! (Okay, maybe around thirty-fifty) The one that came in first is an eight week old. But he WAS really well behaved for his age. Blitz got five, the baby got six. So we JUST lost! We got a candy cane from Sydney, (Goldendoodle) Avalon, (Black Lab, even though she wasn't there...Her puppy raisers gave it to us.) Camry, (Yellow Lab) Nelson, (Black Lab, breeder.) and Harley. (Black Lab.) And they had a raffle, with a bunch of random things like pins, toys, tie-downs, etc. I bought three tickets...My name was called four times. (My sister bought some tickets, and I think all Louise saw was "Nash," and so she said Blitz.) I got a "Bags on Board" dog bag carrier, (I'm getting tired of carrying those in my pockets!)a squeaky toy for Blitz, and a tie down. (The last one suffered the puppy teeth.) Keliann (My sister...I let her get one, since it's obvious that at least one of her tickets won!) got a packet of pins, necklaces and a keychain.
Here's the few pictures I managed to take!

TOTALLY copying Emily and Megan!
Hehe, some things about me! (Kasey...Yes, I'm on Blitz's blog!)
-I lived in the same house on Camano Island, Washington for the first twelve years of my life.
-I then moved to Southern California where I thought I would die.
-If I didn't make that move, I wouldn't have discovered puppy raising!
-I am a tomboy of sorts...I'm not huge on sports, but I don't like painting my nails or the like either.
-I am the third of six kids.
-I have homeschooled all my life, and enjoy it.
-I hate hair...I actually wish that it would go into style to be bald so I could do so without being stared at.
-I have always been interested in other cultures...Not other cultures of countries, but the culture of disabled people...Such as blindness, deafness, lameness etc...
-I hope to go into a profession that deals with this sort of thing. (A sort of Special Education...Preferably being a Guide Dog Instructor)
-I love dogs. ('nuff said.)
-The first dog I ever had in my family was Sarah, an English Springer Spaniel. THE best dog you could ask for, she was my mom and dad's "Kid before Kids." (She was our sort of "babysitter" as we grew up, and it was not uncommon for her to place herself between us and something dangerous.)
-When I think, I am always having a conversation with someone. (Instead of just THINKING "This is what I think." I picture myself telling someone what I think.)
-I hate all candy except for chocolate.
-My favorite breed of dog besides the Lab are Bernese Mountain Dogs.
-I wore high heels for the first time last week.
-I LOVE water. The water we had in Washington came directly from an underground spring, and seriously...This water was heavenly.
-My favorite quote as of now: "It is not our duty to conform Christ to man, but to conform man to Christ." Dorothy Sayers (I'll probably find a new favorite quote in the next book I read.)
-I really like things that people typically hate...Brussel sprouts, broccoli, spinache, etc...
-In the past four months my car has burst into flames for no apparent reason, our house has flooded, and my house almost caught on fire.
-My absolute favorite place to vacation: Cannon Beach, Oregon.
-I like all types of music...classical, rap, pop, rock, jazz, country, you name it, I like it. (Unless you name screaming rock...)
-In the third grade I was tested, and my reading score was Post Highschool, and my spelling score was ninth grade.
-My score was simply awful in math.
-As I look back at Jaylie, I realize how little I knew then. I think I'll look back on now in a year and think the same thing.
-I actually enjoy writing reflection essays and such.
-I, like Megan, break out into sudden song. One word will remind me of a song, and then it's hopeless.
-I play "The Game," and I just lost. I have only won the game twice in the time I have known about it. (Like five months.)
-My favorite food in the world is sub sandwhiches.
-I will never date...I will court.
-I have listened to ALL of the "Adventure of Odyssey" series. In order.
-I am very bugged in the car, even though I don't drive, when anyone does anything rude or illegal.
-I get very nervous with knives. My stomache actually starts to quiver.
-I was born two weeks early.
-My brother has never experienced throwing up...He was born without an asauphogus.
-I taught myself how to read when I was three.
-My favorite book series as a kid (Yes, I'm still a kid but I mean a YOUNGER kid...)was the Encyclopedia Brown series. Yesterday I read one of them and they are extremely cheesy.
-I have read all of the Chronicles of Narnia at least seven times. (Prince Caspian is the one that I've read the least, and I've read that seven times.) I've read the Magicians Nephew the most...Fourteen times.
-My dad was born in Alaska before it became a state. (Alaska became a state in November of '59. My dad was born in '58.)
-Every time we're in a social setting I learn something new about my dad. Once I learned that he was kidnapped once. Another time I heard he was shipwrecked for three days. Yet another that he once was lost in a blizzard and had to dig a hole in the snow to keep warm.
-I am the "buddy" of a four year old girl with Downs Syndrome every sunday. She just needs some extra attention, and she is the cutest thing.
-I lose interest in things very quickly, and I was extremely worried that this would happen with puppy raising. But no, it didn't!! ;)
-My bedroom floor is tile.
-I am going to GERMANY in March!!
-I "know" alot of people whom I have never met. (Most of you bloggers being some of them!)
-I am barefoot more often then not.
-I LOVE cool weather. I hate it when it's hot! When it's cold, there's always some way to warm up, whether it be running around playing frisbee with friends or curling up in front of the fireplace with cocoa. When it's hot, there is no way to cool down!
Hmm, that's it for now...Might update later!
Anyway, on to Blitz. We took him to the vet today, but before we did, I fed him, and he didn't finish. That is EXTREMELY unlike him, he is the typical lab who inhales his food. The vet said it was probably because the pain was so bad. She said that the limping and pain is a flare up of whatever he had last time. (She told me the term, but I can't remember what it is!!) So, he's back on crate confinement and pain pills. He should be fine by the puppy meeting on saturday, so you GDA people may see him!

LONG overdue update!
WHOA, sorry it's been so long. But don't worry, I'm still here! Alot has happened since the last time I updated...
Wicked...We went! I LOVED it...Mom has the soundtrack and is playing it all the time, and it was so neat to see it with the dialogue. You can sort of tell what's going on with the music, but the dialogue is really what connects it all. We left for the Pantages about six, and were carpooling with three other people. (Not everyone in our family went...Only mom, her mom, two of her brothers, and her sister. Her dad stayed home with the M&M's.) We went in, and it was really crowded, but of course I did great! There were QUITE a few people who were extremely interested in me, as well as a family who was speaking a different language and pointing and smiling at me. (I THINK it was German, but am not certain.) Then we went in, and it started...The music was really loud, and there wasn't much floor space, but I did fine. Apparently there was another assistance dog/puppy-in-training/guide dog/SOMETHING in the theatre, because in the middle of the performance we heard a bark somewhere from the orchastra section! We were way up in the Mezzanine, so we never saw the other dog, but I'm pretty sure there was one. Wicked is a great play...If you haven't ever seen it, GO! Right NOW! It's basically a conspiracy theory for The Wizard Of Oz...The Wizard is the bad guy, the Wicked Witch (Alpheba) is the good guy, and the scarecrow (Previously a man who wanted to go through life without having to think...Therefore the reason he doesn't have a brain...He's a scarecrow because he was being "punished" by the Wizard, and Alpheba (remember...The Wicked Witch...) put a spell on him to protect him, that there was no way they could hurt him.) is in love with the Witch. The Good Witch is the popular one, (there's a whole song to show this! http://youtube.com/watch?v=2dPuKNECBmQ&feature=related) and also Alpheba's roommate. It's really good...Go see it!
At intermission of course mom took me out. There aren't many places to "go" (Yes, THAT kind of go.) in Hollywood, but there's a patch of dirt across the street...Right by a bus stop, with a bunch of people watching. Oh well.
Urgh, and I'm limping again. Mom called Yvonne yesterday and left a message, and is now waiting for her to call back. It's the same as before...Came gradually, and it's getting worse and worse, on my right rear leg, mom can't get me to show pain by squeezing or anything...It's the exact same thing as last time! Hopefully the last one just didn't heal properly, and not that this is a reoccuring thing with me. (That would get me dropped, and mom is extremely sensitive right now with me, because I'm at the age that Jaylie was dropped.) So, news on that once Yvonne calls back and we get permission to go to the vet.
Went to a puppy meeting!! YAY! That was fun. I haven't been in SO long, because mom has this really annoying class on wednesday nights. Tuesday evening Stephen Hoekendorf called and asked if he could "borrow" me for the meeting. We see eachother in a class wednesday afternoons, so that's the perfect place to hand me over. (Hopefully Stephen will be taking me to any meeting from now on that mom can't go to.) Daniel (Stephen's older brother...BTW, they're in Trinity (The homeschool group) with mom.) brought me home thursday, and had good reports. He had brought me to one of his classes at Moorepark, and said I was quiet, but tried to eat things on the floor. (Mom's only classes are in ultra-clean environments, where a CRUMB would be outlawed, so I'm not used to being where there's stuff on the ground...Hmm, mom'll have to work on that with me.) I won a TOY at the puppy meeting! Right before I sat down to write this I was chewing on it. It's a nice, green (Or so mom tells me...I'm color blind!!) and round rubber toy. I'm not a huge chewer, only throwing things around, so this should last a while. (Whereas SOME puppies I know would have it in half in no time!)
YAY! And the biggest news of all, WE GOT BACK INTO OUR HOUSE YESTERDAY!!! Last night was our first time sleeping here since...September!! I am so excited, because now I have a whole yard to pick from when I go potty, rather than the six feet with the leash. And hopefully if I AM put on bedrest (Which will probably happen because of my darned foot) mom will probably be able to keep me. The only reason I went to a sitters while healing instead of staying with mom, is because I couldn't be left alone (even in a crate) at the hotel, so if mom ever went anywhere, I would have to go...Which would make for much bedrest!!
I got to go to a school with Mary Lou and Oceana! (Mary Lou's "Wissel" went in-for-training last month.) First we went to the first graders, and that was fun! It was the typical first grade class...They didn't quite know what questions to ask, other than "Can we pet them?" and of course they loved the puppies on the video. (They're all wittle tiny babies!!) Mary Lou said she was considering bringing one of the "K" puppies, who is eleven weeks old, but decided against it...It was rainy, and there were lots of kids...It would get a bit overwhelming! Then we went to the fifth grade, and they were EVER so typical. More interested in the people around them than the people who were speaking or the puppies. After we told them that we only use Labs, goldens, shepherds, and doodles, they asked a MILLION questions about what other breeds we use. ("Do you use Jack Russel Terriers?" "Do you use Great Danes?" "Do you use Border Collies?") With ever answer we said, "NO, we only use Labs, goldens, shepherds and doodles." But they kept asking those questions. The took pictures with each of us, in groups of four. Some people were saying "I want to be next to the yellow one!" and others were saying "I want to be next to the BLACK one!" (Yes, they all thought Oceana was black until we set them straight.) I am WAY bigger than Oceana, so there were alot of gasps when we introduced Oceana as a fifteen month old lab, and me as an eight month old lab.
Okay, so I don't have pictures on here yet, but I will post them! For now, here's me as a pup! Giving mom a kiss the first time she held me.

Santa Rosa, California
Okay...Has anyone else noticed that Santa Rosa is like...THE assistance dog capitol?? They've got the Assistance Dog Institute, Canine Companions for Independence, Loving Paws Assistance Dogs, I mean, the list goes on!! What is it about Santa Rosa?? Does everyone just REALLY like it there or what?? Ya, it wouldn't be as strange if it were the capitol or something, but Santa Rosa?? I probably sound mad, but I'm not...I just think it's interesting!!

Pictures!!
Yes, I've used that title many times. But it's a classic, and it tells you exactly what you're going to see in this post!!
PICTURES!!
Mom and her team WON the scavenger hunt!! (She was on the Jewell's Sydney's team...So they had Harley, the Duke and Sydney!) Denise did a GREAT job with everything, and mom said it was all very challenging. Her favorite parts were the codes...One, they had to look at the mall directory and find the store name, and a letter from the name. That code told them to go count the number of horses on the carousel. Another one, they had to look at a phone with the number and what number letter it was. (Yes, that past sentence made no sense...Look at it this way...2/3 = C, 2/1 = A, 8/1 = T.) Then they got to ride on the metro link, and then got to go to a harvest festival. At first, they didn't think they were going to be let in, but then the lady went and asked the person in charge, and she let them in for free. After everything, everyone went to the foodcourt and had a little going away party for the "W" litter, who were going to go in-for-training the next week. Momma said that Duke was a huge sweetheart the whole time...He was very good at obedience commands! His one fualt was the pulling, but, this WAS a very exciting thing, and Mom thinks that even I would have pulled, and I usually lag!!
Here's the pics!!
At the beginning, before anyone was tired!

At the mall, Duke and Harley were bored, since all the humans were just standing around looking at the directory. Geez, you'd think they could just ask if they were THAT lost!

Cutsie Duke

Duke, after the obedience stop.

Harley and Duke, on the bus.

Now, here's pictures of me!!
"YAY mom!! I'm so happy to see you!!" (This was in the carride home from GDA.)

"Are you SURE I have to wear this thing??"

Can't see it very well, but this is the Blitz I have on my tail. (In real life you can see it better.)

In a ball.

My mom emberasses me by putting me in this position, and then telling me to stay.

The promised update!!
Sorry it's taken so long!! I didn't want to update without pictures, but I've decided it's been too long since I promised!
Anyway, I'm good!! Little sore, but good! I have to wear that idiotic cone when mom's not around though, which thankfully isn't that often. I think this time away from mom has made me love her all the more, and now I don't like it when she leaves. She's almost worried it will turn into seperation anxiety, but it's not at all like that now. I just am happy when she gets back. But just to be sure, she wants to puppy swap with someone at least for a couple days. (AFTER the whole "neuteredness" wears off, i.e., I get my stitches out!!)
Mom thinks I'm cute as ever!! I LOVE to please her more than anything, and when I'm playing with any of her siblings or her mom, I will occassionally walk over to her to get her approval. And I'm pretty much perfect!! My heeling IS perfect, as well as my sit, down, sit from down, here, come, (For you non-puppy raisers, the difference between a here and a come is that here just means to come here, whereas come means come to the left side and sit.) and stay. My stand is NEAR perfect, and I just need to think about it when mom says to. And I went to two classes today with mommy, (Don't worry...No walking was required, and I slept the whole time, so don't worry about my stitches!!) and I was quiet and good the whole time!! One of the people in mom's class is going to puppy raise, (His older brother already has his pup, and he's going to get his own!) so maybe I'll have a friend at school!! That is, if the pup comes within like...The next month and is old enough to come by the time class ends!
And I have the most BEAUTIFUL coat you've ever seen. It's wavy on the back, and at the base of the tail there is a little lightning streak...Mind you, BLITZ means LIGHTNING in German!! And by my shoulders the fur is swept ofver to the left, instead of just going straight. It's so pretty!! (Although, of course, I can't see it!!)
Anyway, later, I'll let mommy make a post about what she did at a scavenger hunt!! (That I couldn't go to since my leg was hurt!!) She said it was alot of fun, and that she got to handle the Duke, a VERY pretty and sweet puppy.
See y'all later!!

Yes, today's neuter day.
Friday, October 19, 2007
*gulp*
I...am...getting...
neutered.
Yes, I am getting the big snip. Mom's a bit bummed, she thinks I would make a great breeder. I'm scheduled for the thirtieth...
Also, I am going to another home for about the next two weeks, or at least until mommy gets back settled into our house. GDA REALLY wants this foot to heal as well as possible, so I will be taking it VERY easy...Only getting up to go potty and such.

Update on my foot!!
So, I should be better soon!!! Two of my bones in my hip got pulled away, and so they're not touching. The vet said that since I'm growing so fast right now, it'll probably heal itself. He put me on pain medication, and told mom to keep me quiet. No walks, playing with other puppies, or roughousing with mommy. I'm fine with the no walks, but no playing?? Now I'm at GDA so that THEY can take a look at me, and I went to a specialist today. (The first vet I went to was a vet in Simi.) I'll be here at GDA for about a week.

Limping!
Hey guys, my foot hurts really bad. I'm SO out of sorts, because it hurts so bad!! Mom called the vet a few times, and is still waiting for her to call back. I'm limping pretty bad, and when I stand still, I don't even let that foot touch the ground. And it's even worse because we're on the fourth floor of the hotel, and so every time I have to go to the bathroom, we gotta walk all the way down there. I always look really sad mom tells me. I sit in the middle of the room, staring at the floor, feeling sorry for myself. I try to stay still, but...nature calls...
Just pray it isn't anything bad, and that the vet can fix me up quick!! I don't think it's anything bone related, but rather with the muscles.

Size comparison??
Three months old...

Three months later, six months old. (No, I am not six months...I'm seven, but seeing as we're in a hotel, it's impossible to get recent pictures on here!!)

Now what'dya know about that?? And I've grown alot since I was six months. The velcro on my jacket doesn't even go all the way across my chest, whereas when we first got it, it was coming off of it!! "Hey mom, ya think I can go back to the puppy bib??"

Hotel life!!
We're staying in a hotel!! It's SOO much fun! I'm not sure why we're here, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that our house was full of water. All the people here are really nice, and they all love me!! They all say I'm the best behaved dog they've ever seen!! Yay...Hopefully they won't see me typing on this computer, seeing as it IS right in the middle of the lobby and all. Anyway, just wanted to tell y'all. I have to get off now, there's other people eying the computer, I think they want on.
Bye!!

Snoring!!
Okay, I don't know if I told you guys this yet, but I SNORE. And no, not only when I'm asleep. I do it when I'm fully awake and alert. This causes a problem to poor mom, because when we're in a class and I start snoring, she can't just nudge me awake...Because I'll keep snoring! I do it ALL the time. When mom was taking me into the kennels, the vet heard it and asked mom about it. She told her I do it all the time, so while I was staying there the vet checked it out to make sure it wasn't something wrong with my nose. But no, she said it is just one of the things that makes me special!! Haha. Mom doesn't appreciate it much!! Anyway, here's a video of it! Turn the volume up!

Update
SORRY you guys for not updating in so long! Momma and I are very busy, since the new school year started. Mostly I just lay around waiting for mom to do her work, but sometimes she has classes outside of the home that I go to with her. Wednesday's are the biggest class days. This past wednesday was our first big day of outside-the-home school!! We started out the day with her class, "Understanding The Times." It's a current events class. Then we headed off to T.O. to go to her Torrey. (A Biola University college-prep class. http://youth.biola.edu/academics/torrey/) First she has Inklings, (A three hour nap for me) then she has lunch break, (a half hour drooling session for me) and then she has logic. (Another three hour nap for me! Full of snoring, of course.) Then when those classes are over, we head across the street to the mall, and hang out there, and mom starts her homework. Then we find something to eat there, (Or she does...I get my plain ol' kibble.) and then we walk the mile to Mock Trial. By that time, I was tired of sleeping at moms feet, so I was whining. Can you blame me?? Mom actually forgot to bring a TOY for me! I was so stinkin' bored!! She says that next time she's going to make up for that, and bring a stuffed and frozen kong, but she says she's gonna hide it until I start to get restless. After Mock Trial, it's time to go home and go to bed.
Momma's not happy with me right now. I'm at the teenager stage, and I don't like listening to her. She makes me do what I tell her, even if I don't want to. So I just give her a glare that tells her I'm sitting because I WANT to, NOT because she TOLD me to. Sheesh, she thinks she's the boss of me! And this morning, mom caught me mounting my dog bed. Let me tell you, that thing got taken away from me right away! I told her that it's not my fault. I'm just a six month old unneutered male!! What else can you expect?
Other than that, I'm doing pretty good. I'm starting to grow into the big jacket, and getting used to the training collar. I'm in an obedience class, and mom said that if I'm good, at the end I will get my Canine Good Citizen award! All the good dogs I know have those, so it must be something great!
Anyway, thanks for reading! Pray for mom's sanity, while she has to deal with my unneutered-ness!

I'm back!
Hey guys! I got back a few days ago from staying at the Jewels!! I had a GREAT time. They have a cat, which I learned to leave alone, and I also learned to stay away from his food when it was on the ground. I had a great time playing with Diesel, too! I had some problems with garbage diving at first, but soon the Jewells had me broken of that. I went alot of places, too! Work every day with either Debbie or Jeff, (All of Jeff's co-workers think that he should raise a yellow lab! lol.) I went to the hollywood bowl, and I went on an outing to Boccali's with a bunch of other Puppies In Training. Jeff and Debbie went to the Second Annual Fundraising dinner at the air force one pavillion, but I was too young to go.
I lost the rest of my teeth, too! At first, the Jewell's daughter (She is a vet tech) thought that they might have to pull some of my teeth, because they were having a hard time coming out, but luckily we didn't have to pull any.
So, now I'm home. Mom's REAL happy to see me!!
Mom made a post on her blog about her trip with Harley. It's VERY long and detailed. Go check it out!!

Mom really misses Jaylie!
Aw, poor mom misses Jaylie really bad right now. She thought she had been over it, but now she says that the pain is coming back. Jaylie's a big sweetheart, so I hear...Her new owners have been giving mom a couple emails with pictures. Here's the two pictures of her! She's alot bigger than last time mom saw her, mom says.

Just posting to let you guys know I'M STILL HERE!
Lol, long time no post, huh? Well, the reason is very simple...Not much has been going on! I've just been sitting at home, eating and growing. I weigh almost forty-pounds now, and am a week short of five months. I went to a puppy-sitter a few days ago, because mom was going to somwhere called "magic mountain." I wonder what the magic did...When she came home she couldn't walk on her right foot. She said that she sprained it. But by the next day, it was heeled! Hmm, I wonder if THAT's what the "Magic Mountain" does...Heal's sprained ankles?? I don't know. Mom says that when I'm older if she goes then I can go, so maybe I'll see what all the fuss is about. Mom's going on a LOONG trip in a week, so I'll be at the Jewell's house, while mom takes Harley. She'll be gone from the tenth to the twenty-sixth, which is a long time for a young puppy. She says that by the time she gets back, I'll be able to put the adult jacket on. Well, look! It fit's already!
And THIS is what the SMALL one looks like.
Yup, you guessed it. I have now officially entered that awkward stage of puppy hood where the small bib doesn't fit, and the big one I can't get yet. Oh well, as soon as mom gets back THEN it'll all pay off.

Beaches, Obedience Classes, and other things.
So, I spent the week with Marlo's family. But Marlo wasn't there! But they have another dog, a golden retriever, named Penny. She was a bit of a grouch though, and wouldn't play with me. I think she was mad at her family for bringing home ANOTHER pup for her to be annoyed with. But that's alright, I found plenty of other things to do. Then, they brought me to obedience class, and guess who showed up! MOMMY!! Man, I missed her a whole bunch. This was our last night at obedience class, and it was fun. First, we did cradling, as always, while Alisa went over her handout. Then we did some heeling, and sit/staying as well as some down/staying. I did fantastic at the sit/stay, but I'm not to good at down/stay. It's so hard! Oh! And you know what's even HARDER?? STAND/stay. Mommy had to hold me so I wouldn't sit, and then she told me it was okay, and I could sit. Some of us little pups (Camry, Dallas and I) joined in with the older group, since there was only Price, Marlo and Kuma. Here's a picture of our last obedience class together! The pups in it from left to right are Camry, Price, Cleo, Dallas, Marloe and me. The pups that were in the class, but either came late and missed the photo, (Kuma) or weren't there, were Maui, Fievel, Oceana, Kuma and Nidia.
And then yesterday, we went to the beach! It was a beach that didn't allow dogs, so I had to leave my vest on, but it was still fun! I got to sunbathe for a while, but then I got tired of that, and was hot, so I squished myself into this tiny bit of shade.

There were seagulls there, but I wasn't that interested in them. I liked making myself a bed with the sand better. Mom didn't enjoy that though, since I was getting so sandy. My mom took me for a walk, and that was fun. There were a ton of people saying "This is a no dogs allowed beach!" but the lifeguards didn't say anything, so we were fine. after going for my walk, I was pooped. So, I went to sleep. When I woke up, my mom got this crazy idea that she should tire me out, and take me for a run. Well, THAT wasn't happening. I put my brakes on and didn't move. So, she gave up. Oh! And those waves are so scary. At first, I wasn't sure what to do about them, and kept shying away. But then mom took me up to one and showed me that it wasn't scary. So, I tried taking a drink. Ugh. Never try that! It was disgusting! Anyway, it was lots of fun. My mom even buried my uncle in the sand. I thought it was so silly, because all you could see was his head. Where'd the rest of him go? Oh well. He has it back now!
After the beach, mom and I went to the Ventura meeting. At dinner, I was very whiny. I even barked once. But after mom corrected me, I did that sorta half bark, where you go through the movements of the bark, but it comes out a squeak. Then we went into the meeting. It was boring for me, but mom said it was interesting. At one point, while I was sleeping, the speaker started doing the strangest thing...She was backing up and clapping, just like mom does when she wants me to come to her. Since I had been sleeping, I just woke up, and didn't try to go to her or anything, but the rest of the puppies REALLY wanted to go to her. It was so funny! The Jewell's gave Mom and I a ride home, and I slept the whole way. When we got home and mom got out, I didn't even lift my head up or open my eyes. I was OUT! It was a fun day!! Sorry I don't have any pictures of the meeting. Mom didn't have the camera!

Puppy Swap!
Hey guys! Momma's going up north to Washington and Oregon in August, and she told me that I'm too young to go. She still wants to bring a puppy though! So, if there's anyone out there that has a puppy that's above a year old, and doesn't mind bringing an extra calm five month old into their home for about two weeks, can we swap? And also...It should be a very good representative for the school, because she will be getting to know a group of people for a week, and if she has a dog that doesn't sit still, then they're not going to think GDA is much of a school. So, anyone have time for a five month old, and doesn't mind not having their puppy for two weeks? Mom was going to bring Windsor, (PERFECT match for this trip!) but he was dropped!
I guess we could MAYBE even do an interschool change...I don't know what GDA would think of that though! Lol!

Not quite big enough...
Mom took these pictures of me today. They're with the "big-puppy" jacket on. Don't think I'm quite big enough...But that's okay. I've got another two months to grow! They don't usually put 'em on until you're six months old. (Remember, you can click on the picture to see it full sized.)
And here's another one mom took today.
