We've been enjoying a fun and active summer, however I realize we have some significant catching-up to do with our blog! To get started, here are some summer highlights through mid-July (see also our 'Arizona Vacation' posting for photos from our June trip).
We enjoy frequent walks in our neighborhood and to nearby parks. Owen loves his balance bike and Ava enjoys riding in the "red car"
Lots of special time with grandparents!
A Saturday outing to nearly Champoeg State Park
We resisted cutting Ava's hair for her first year, however her hair was growing quite long and crazy so we determined she was due (or maybe overdue!) for her first haircut.
Owen loving all the toys at the "Little Clippers" hair salon
Ready for her first salon experience!
A "before" look at the mullet!
Here we go....
All done and so cute!
An "after" shot. Looking like such a big girl!
A special dad-son night at an event for the Portland Timbers. They had a blast!
So many cute photos of Owen smiling (beaming!) with his soccer ball that I just couldn't choose which one to post...so I posted them all!

Blake, Angie & Landon visited for a weekend!
While Blake & Angie attended a birthday party, we enjoyed some special time with Landon! We walked to the local park where all three kids fell in love with a little husky pup we met. Very sweet!
4th of July!
Morning: Independence Day Parade in St. Paul (associated with the annual St. Paul Rodeo)
Afternoon: Play time at a local park followed by a family dinner at Red Robbin. Owen & Ava's first experience at Red Robbin...a real "American" treat, we figured!
Evening: first fireworks experience!
Getting ready...
Action!
Blueberry picking at a local farm. We had so much fun that we ended up returning the next weekend also!
