New The Devil Wears Prada Music!

The Devil Wears Prada are one of the biggest bands in metalcore, to the chagrin of many, but tons and tons of people enjoy these guys, myself included. I am a bigger fan of their older material though and the Zombie ep will pretty much always be my favorite work from them, but I've always enjoyed their music. Anyhow, they announced a new album entitled 8:18 which surprisingly won't be releasing August 18th, but instead September 17th (Who's the genius was that missed that easy to remember release date opportunity?) and we've got a couple of new songs to hear from said album.

Band Of The Week: Vale Of Pnath

Vale Of Pnath (the P is silent!) are a tech death outfit from Denver, Colorado who absolutely kill it in every way. The only thing to complain about is that they've only had one full length so far, which released back in 2011, so hopefully that will change soon. The band hasn't announced any big news about anything new just yet, but earlier this year they released a video for the song 'Sightless' from The Prodigal Empire.

Band Of The Week: As They Sleep

Things have been rather quiet in As They Sleep's camp lately. Their last release Dynasty came out in 2010, and there doesn't seem to be any info about them working on a new album although they released a cover of Billy Squire's song 'The Stroke'. I do hope this changes in the near future though as these guys have made two brilliant albums in their career so far.

Dischordia - Project 19

It’s been a solid amount of time since I have heard anything from Dischordia’s camp. The last thing I had heard from them was their excellent Creator, Destroyer EP back towards the end of 2011. That EP was a really strong 4 track outing and was one of the best EP’s I’d heard that year. It still holds up really well today. Now though Dischordia are here with a whole new beast. Project 19 is a 19 track album technically speaking but truthfully it is 10 tracks with 9 19 second silent tracks to make the album 19 tracks long.

New Fleshgod Apocalypse Song 'Elegy'!

As a huge fan of Agony I'm really glad that it appears the band is sticking with the symphonics found heavily on that album. although this track seems to tone it down a tad bit to try and please fans of both Agony and  Oracles. Either way this track is fantastic, and I'm dying to hear this full album.

Band Of The Week: Carach Angren

I wouldn't really put Carach Angren in the same category as the other BOTW entries I've had so far, mostly because of their genre and notoriety. Carach Angren are in a bit of a sweet spot where they aren't mega famous or anything, but they are decently well known, and for good reason at that.

Erimha - Reign Through Immortality

Erimha is to my knowledge the first band of this sort to be featured on Victory Records. The band, whose name is Sumerian for ‘Army’, is a symphonic black metal band with clear influences from the likes of Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, and Hate. There’s a pretty large divide in black metal between the, for lack of a better word, hipsters of black metal that are into the big anti music movement going on in the subgenre, and the fans of more modern death metal influenced black metal. Erimha falls into the latter with really nice production, a more theatrical feeling and epic symphonic pieces.

Liferuiner - Future Revisionists

Liferuiner is a band I never truly enjoyed in the past. Their ‘brocore’ sound just felt like they were trying to cash in on the success of Emmure and The Acacia Strain. It didn’t help that they had some pretty bad song titles like ‘A Ticket To The Pussy Crusher’ ‘The Alphabet Never Really Made Sense To Me’ and ‘Suck My Dick’. Not a fantastic start. I was definitely a bit hesitant when their new album Future Revisionists came to me. Before listening I did some research and found out that this band is almost entirely new, save for the vocalist, and that they’ve taken a different approach to their music. This alone intrigued me enough to start the album and from the very first moment it starts you can tell you are dealing with an entirely different beast now.

Band Of The Week: Dysphoria

Dysphoria is a deathcore band from the Ukraine that's pretty getting a decent amount of attention recently. They released their second full length album last year entitled To The Perfect Form Of Modern Species, and got themselves signed by Total Deathcore (who I didn't know signed bands.) Dysphoria's brand of deathcore isn't something that's entirely new, but they have done a fantastic job with the writing on this album, filling it full of great instrumentation and not going wall to wall with the breakdowns.

Better Left Unsaid - Self Titled

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect with this album going into it. This is an album you can’t really judge by its rather simple cover. As it turns out Better Left Unsaid is a band that falls somewhere between the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal and Metalcore. The first track, Mr. Dark is a pretty solid song, and a good opener to get you familiar with the style the band is going for. The second track ‘My Wounds’ is what really got me more interested though. The down tuned repeated chunky riff in the beginning is darker than the opener and the ominous tone the track has just feels really cool.
