Barcelona to Seville- Day 4

The narrow alley leading to Pension Montorena..
My absolute favourite place to dine in Seville... Baked potato, bbq sauce, cheese, ham & mushroom.... *slurp*

One of the many orange trees lining the streets of Sevilla

My most lok-kok moment.. Mismatched clothes giving out cards... *Faintz*

Barcelona to Seville was a smooth transfer via Vueling Budget Airlines. If anyone needs to know, it cost like only half the price you if travel by budget airlines compared to train travel (I mean slow train travel...much less a bullet train).

Arrived at Seville and managed to navigate our way to the hostel pretty efficiently... but the moment I saw our accomodation, my heart sank. It has cobwebs all over....Nx was super worried about bed bugs as well. We thought it was just old only... but the mystery was unleashed later in the evening. Stomach was growling, had to grab lunch first...
This is my absolute favourite lunch destination in Sevilla. It was my favourite food.. potato. *SLURP* Wow, now I blogging about it makes me hungry liao.. hahaha... we were quite clueless what was what on the menu. Yeah, blame me for not practising my Spanish before I left sg. Busy at work leh..... anyway, we took their portable menu and started to translate the words. Yeah, so gradually, we started to understand what's on the menu.... hahaha.... most of the words are quite applicable in France as well.. siao siao man... hahaha....
Walked around the city area. You should see all the orange trees lining the streets siah... It was my first time seeing so many orange trees ( With BIG oranges as well) in an urban area.
Walked till we got tired and went back to the hostel for an early night.
You know what's the ultimate thing about that hostel? NO HOT WATER!!!!!!!! kaoz... it was the coldest I ever had in my life siah... when I came out, I was really really furious and I told the other 2 that they shouldn't bathe at all.... That lady in-charge doesn't know English at all. She tried to explain to us that the heater was down.We had to make several phone calls out to the the middle-agent where we booked our room. She tried to offer us an apartment instead at 10 Euros more.. wah lau.....We were really really furious by then. Your room so lok-kok already still want to charge us 10 euros more for another room!!!!!
Somehow, somewhat, things managed to sort themselves out when the water heater managed to get started. When I thought all was fine liao... then we realised the freaking temperature in the room was near freezing can!!!
the room was really too cold to sleep that night. I was totally miserable can.....*sigh*

Barcelona Day 3

The tram up Montserrat

The really beautiful canyon up at Montserrat

It was really really windy....

The courtyard at the church

THe church entrance
Picnic lunch in the wild...

Tapas-cum- Paella Dinner at Barcelona Ideal Restaurant...

Ha! We decided to do a day trip out to Montserrat. It was about an hour away from Barcelona City itself, a monastery up in the mountains.
Actually, there isn't really much to see if I am honest with you. But you would really be bowled over by the scenary over there. We just spend most of our time strolling. Ya! Really nothing but just strolling and enjoying the canyon. It is really peaceful and just plain nice..... definitely a must-visit place if you ever go to Barcelona.
I am writing this entry after I have completed the entire trip. Between all the cities that I have visited, I would definitely recommend Barcelona. It's not as commercialised as Paris and the habour is really very nice to just chill out and listen to streets Bustlers the whole day!
After our Montserrat day out, we came back to Barcelona and just sat down beside the habour listening to this band called "Made in Barcelona". It was really refreshing.... That would be what I call a proper Europe tour... hahahaa..
By the way... Montserrat Windy Factor is 10/10.

Aston Specialities

I just had a wonderful dinner at Aston Specialities a couple of hours ago. It was truly good....

There are some things that only good friends know about me. I am really very into beef. I love anything beef. Stir-fried beef, steamboat beef, roast beef, grilled... basically, I really do like eating beef. But I don't eat steak often only because I really hate it when people just kill the entire beef by anyhow cooking it. So will only eat it when I am craving for it.....

The best steak I had ever had in this world was in Japan. This swenson-lookalike-chain called Danny's in Hamamatsu, Japan. That was when I was 14. I ordered this tenderloin cooked till medium-rare. That was TRULY heavenly. Nothing in SG I had ever eaten came close to that at all. Honestly, nothing....I tried beef in Aussie, NZ, US, Paris. They were mostly rubbish as well...

And so I heard PQ and Mark gushing about Aston Specialities that day. THey got me curious. I tried dragging my parents there yesterday. They didn't want to queue. Met QZ and company there. They queued and he told me that they have Wagyu Beef and dasao was totally blown over by the taste. Because of that sms, I totally had the craving for some good steak.... and so I persuaded Serene to change our dinner venue to Aston tonight.

wahaha... even though she's as usual late...... I was too excited to be angry with her....

The Wagyu Beef was a Grade 6 one.. FANTASTIC!!!! THey served it "nude" ie without the sauce which was really good!!!! hahahaha... it was quite close to what I had in Japan before but it missed a little because the marinated taste wasn't consistent. I had a few mouthfuls that were a bit on the salty side....it could have been better if it was a little more burnt on the outside. That would have been PERFECT. hahaha....

but seriously, for anyone who loves beef as much as I do, you should really go down to Aston and try the steak. It's good.. the portion is just right as well...oh. I had it medium-rare. I would just go for rare next time. hahaha... don't ever kill the beef like Serene did by ordering medium siah.... she's totally wasting her money... ahahahah

seriously, I am all ready to fork out twice or thrice the cost for a grade 9 and above quality now.... wahlau.. but first, I must locate a place which sells something so high quality which is likely to be a Japanese restaurant lah... hahaa....

PS: I am not a food blogger. Go find the address yourself. I only know it's beside Katong Mall and they have a few branches with varying reviews. SO best is go there..

well control again?!?!?!?!

I hate exams....
f**k
Remember the course I went to in Brunei? I decided to skip a few levels and took the highest level one.... "IWCF- Well Control- Surface/ Subsea"
*faintz*
I should never have tried to take something so much beyond me. It's day 4. Tomorrow's the paper... I am so going to die... It clearly doesn't help when my teacher isn't very optimistic that young engineers like me will pass. Passing grade is a 70% and more for 2 papers...
diao... so it's machiam like if I don't get an A, I have failed liao...
