A stocktake and A lookahead

Stock take for 2007:

  1. Embarked on a challenging career that took me to rigs and meet people from a variety of cultures
  2. I have saw and feel for myself what it actually meant being alone overseas. That's a very big highlight for me as I underestimated how much impact loneliness can have on me.
  3. Lost weight. wahahahaha..... I have an almost 60%-attendance regular routine on the rig. =)
  4. Loved and cared for people who matters to me. I can boldly say that I have tried hard enough, done enough and care enough to all those that matter to me. Of cos, there's room for improvement lah... cos I am still very tactless and careless.
  5. Been to Krabi, Brunei and Bangladesh. And the sistas and I have bought our tickets to Paris/ Spain in March 2008!!!

haahaha...that's my 2007. I started the year with plenty to look forward to. A big step into a career I knew nothing about. I have indeed grown so much mentally. Like I have told some friends before, "Back in 2006, I would never have imagined that my life had changed so much."

I had a lot to look forward to in 2007 and I hope that this will continue into 2008.

Resolutions for 2006 and 2007 was:

  1. Live a more carefree life & be contented with what I have.
  2. I wanna be stronger & I want to climb a mountain in 2007!!
  3. Care for those that really matters.

I have achieved 2 of the 3. I didn't bother to climb a mountain at all. =PpPp

But this year, it's gonna be differently.

  1. I want to be growing even faster than I did in 2007
  2. Travel to even more exotic locations in the world
  3. Be less narrow-minded and impulsive

Happy New Year!!

Homsick Xmas

wah seh.. I never knew what was called homesick until now.

Started my hitch on 12 Dec. Celebrated my 23RD birthday first time away from my parents. =) It was alright. My campboss got the baker to bake a huge cake for me. hahaha... that was sweet. Kevin, the night man, drew a simple bday card for me as well. And my friends all wished me Happy 23rd Birthday. Mum called through to talk to me too. hahaha... so it was just another day on the rig.
24 Dec night was when that homesick feeling come tumbling through the door. Initially, I had planned to call sr footies one. But I knew I was quite homesick then. Luckily, I brought along HK dvd. haha... at least I hear people speaking a language of my own. =) This morning, all was alright until I stepped into the galley. WAH SIAN.... they were playing xmas carols, busy decorating the place for xmas lunch. *faintz* That was when the feeling totally sink into my head.
Now I am wondering how in the world am I going to spend CNY on the rig... haii....
