Initially, I wasn't very excited about this trip. Yeah, a bit apprehensive,probably because I have seen this bunch of people far too much lately and I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FISH! goodness....
This trip started out on a bad note. Serene totally overslept and the bus got the wrong pick-up point. Then Serene got held up by the police for taking picture outside SG immigration. It's like a whole chain of events that occured made us call her C2. hahaha....It's an 11 people secret why C2. Go figure...I can't post the video either. It's going to offend some people lah...not nice.
After a super bumpy ride on the road, we reached Tanjung Lehman Jetty at about 1030. Ming Zai, our host, was there to greet us. Boarded the bump boat which took us 20 mins or so to reach the kelong. There were another group of people that came a day before us.
First impression of the kelong was good. It's clean and spacious. Siew Sze and I took a quick tour around the place. Clean toilets, deck for fishing, even the kitchen looks pretty alright lah. Then we found 2 buggers (LOOK AT PIC) smoking just outside our quarters. TSK! what a way to spoil the air. hahaha...lunch was served after we settled in. It was a very simple affair, quite to my taste. *warmth* I love the simple way of life.
Right after lunch, some amongst us, started to get ready to fish. hahaha...seriously, I always thought fishing is a boring and stress-free hobby. I WAS DEAD WRONG!!! Wahlau...it's damn stressful can! First it's the hook/sinker/bait issues, then after you have more or less grasped it, comes the real fishing part. HOW COME EVERYONE IS GETTING A FISH BUT YOURSELF. It's really damn stressful. Though I think it's a very Singaporean thing that we must win in everything. Luckily, Renjian, siew sze and I weren't involved in that fishing affair at all. It's tiring just looking at them. We just sat down there, provided lotsa of eye power and read our books. Aiya, but our concentration couldn't last for too long. Too many actions. hahaa...about an hour or so later, Peiqin caught the first fish. Think that afternoon she had the largest haul lah....Shunzhang was pathetic.....hahaha 1 fish only...
see...that's why fishing is so stressful.
we went island hopping later in the noon. The board at the jetty said Pulau Sibu, but Ming Zai told us that Sibu is further away. hahaha...whatever it is, we had quite a bit of fun on the beach. We played some volleyball to start off. Then they went to play 'monkey' in the sea. Didn't join them. hahaha...no reason, just felt like enjoying some quiet moment alone. Ming Zai then brought us to the rocky area of the beach. hahaa....It's a new experience. I think it's dead corals.Not too sure though. Any inputs?
We were damn hungry by the time we got back to the kelong. Dinner was okie lah...THEY GAVE US PRAWNS! I have one of the biggest I think. lalalala.... After dinner, the rest continued watching the sunset, while Shunzhang, eugene and I went to bathe . It's really rural. Shunzhang had to use the jerry cans outside the toilet and fill up the pail for me to bathe. hahaha....The pail was huge ( the black dustbin size). So I thought I had enough water to enjoy my bath. I WAS DEAD WRONG.Wah lau... I had to use to almost the last drop 'cos I didn't try to conserve in the beginning. Yes, I used like half the pail to wash my hair. Had to ration by the time I reached 3/4. ahahah...Goodness, give the both of them a chance to laugh at me. sianz....
Came out of the toilet to find renjian, shuhong, peiqin and peiyu jumping off the deck. Yes, jetty jump as you can call it. *faint* hahaha....
One thing I quite enjoy doing was drinking coffee and starring the sea. Somewhere, it feels like nothing matters more than enjoying that bit of moment. It was quite a plus when the sun was setting. =) that's what I call, life.
The night was pretty easy to pass. We played some mahjong, fished and then came the 'drinking game'. hahaha....I am not going to write more about it lah...but it feels damn good for my ego when everyone had to say "Sophia is the prettiest girl" after they finish their sentence. wahahhaa....
After that, I sat out at the deck with siew sze, renjian and serene chatting. It was really cosy despite the howling wind. hahaha...
Went to sleep at around midnight. Wah lau...but I got bitten by ants in the middle of the night. Yeah, I think I had ants crawling all over me. Renjian woke up too. Apparently for the same reason. The strange thing was siew sze who was between us didn't get any bites at all.Anyway, We went to find serene. That girl didn't want to miss the sun rise. So she stayed up all night. We caught her behind the generator and toilet with one of the kelong helpers..OPPPSSS....won't elaborate. hahaha....Not too long later, renjian took out his hammock and tied it between 2 poles and I got Serene to drag out 2 mattresses. We slept at the deck for the rest of the night. hahaha....it's damn cosy can!!! hahaha....the south china sea wind blowing and me in my sleeping bag. hahaha...Life is fantastic on the kelong!!!!
Managed to catch the sun rise. It was a little on the cloudy side. Oh well...but it's okie lah... Breakfast was fish porridge. Yummy! hehe... You know huh, somehow, I really love sitting out on the deck a lot. If there's anything I was going to miss, it's definitely the moments I get to sit out at the deck. hehe...
After breakfast, I stayed at the deck for an hour or so observing shunzhang, pq and peiyu fishing. I realised something. Pq had a good spot. So I decided to try fishing afterall. hahaha....YES! I CAUGHT AN IKAN KUNNING IN LESS THAN 5 MINS!!!! WAHAHAHAA....sue me lah....but I was quite sure there was a school down there, that's why I had it so easy. hahaha...
the morning past relatively quickly. Yes, played mahjong till I got so damn tired can! wahlau.... and I totally hate losing. hahaha... I can't stand losing all the time. I played for like 2 hours and I only won once. Lionel wasn't any better. He won only like twice? ahaha....we played till he was broke! hahaha...siew sze damn sly one....keep winning...sianz...
Lunch was damn good. We had a grand haul of 22 fishes for the 2 days. We had everything deep-fried and shared it with everyone else at the kelong. After lunch, we all had to pack up and prepare to leave liao... I started to get this odac song stucked in my head. hahaha....
Think I will just end it here bah....shalln't get too sentimental. =)
