Update- life, 4 year anniversary and deployments

Wow, I haven't updated our blog since June. Well a lot has happened in the last 8 months.
- In August, we moved to Fort Carson and moved into a awesomely gorgeous townhouse on base. I still have to take pictures of the house all dolled up.
- We also got here and were told that Blake would deploy again in February! Grrrr! Two deployments in less than a years time. It is a nine month deployment to Kuwait. At least this deployment is shorter and safer than the last! And he will be home before the holidays!
- My parents come here for Christmas and we had a awesome time with them here!
- We had our four year wedding anniversary and we had a pretty laid back day. We stayed home most of the day and went to our favorite restaurant Tucanos for dinner.
- We had a pre-Valentine's Day celebration before he deployed. We ate out a lot before he left (Tucanos, Zio's, Red Robin, and Melting Pot). We both got new toys before he left- iphones and ipad minis and I got a pound of sees candy. It was nice to spoil each other for "Valentine's Day" before he left.
- Blake deployed on Monday evening and I got to see him quite a bit during the day before he left. I miss him a lot but I have been able to talk to him every day on FaceTime since he left. So its not too bad. Lets hope that the next 9 months go by fast!
I'll post pictures of our new house soon, I promise!

UPDATE on the move to Colorado

As I said in a previous post, we are moving to Fort Carson, Colorado. Which is just outside Colorado Springs. We will be moving the end of next month and arriving in Colorado the very beginning of August. Which is nice because, it gives us a little while before Blake has to report in to work. We are getting really excited! And the preparations for the move are coming together at a rapid pace! We put in our 30 day notice, we have a date for when the movers pack us up and clearing housing. We even have a tentative time range when our stuff will get to Colorado. The biggest news though is that we already have housing in Colorado secured and we already have a address! We got a two bedroom townhouse in a new housing development on Carson, so we are happy about that! And the layout of our house looks awesome from the floor plans that we've seen. It has some nice features that I think we will love. The kitchen has a pass-through window into the living room and it actually has a pantry (a novelty for us since the house in NY doesn't have one!) A bonus room on the first floor (can't be a bedroom, no closet) that we could use for a  number of things (office/army storage/workout room/hopefully future playroom). But the thing I am most excited about (other than the bonus room and kitchen) is the amount of bathrooms in our new place! There is a half bath on the first floor and a bathroom for each of the bedrooms upstairs! July is going to be crazy getting ready for this move! But it will be worth it in the end, since we'll be closer to family and friends again. Which we are happy about!

Blake is FINALLY home!

He came in early Wednesday morning at 2 am. He is home and I am a very happy girl! The only downside is that at the welcome home ceremony none of my electronics with a camera and our camera were working, so I could take a picture. I forgot to charge our camera, my ipod didn't have memory, and my phone was dying.... Oh well! At least he is home now and thats all that counts!

The final countdown has started.....

For Blake to come home! He should be home sometime next month. And I am getting very excited! I wish February would go by faster though.... It seems to be dragging along.... Hurry up March and get here already!

3 year Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday was Blake and mine's 3 year wedding anniversary. Too bad he wasn't here to celebrate.... It just wasn't the same. I had a great time with spending time in California. But it didn't feel right not having him here for the holidays... :( The holidays in general were not the same for me this year with Blake being deployed. I mean it was very nice to spend time with family and friends in California, but it just wasn't the same as having my hubby here to enjoy it.  I had a lot of quality family time while I was here though, so I am happy about that. I am very much looking forward to Blake coming home within the next few months, and making up for lost time. Lets hope the next few months fly by! And I hope by next year that we will have a bundle of joy! Wish us luck on that!

I'll be home for Christmas....

I'm going home for Christmas in Cali from December 14th to January 5th. And I am so excited! That is three weeks of fun in California! I am looking forward to just spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to the smells of Christmas at my parents house. Of a fresh cut Christmas tree and homemade almond roca cooking in the kitchen and the smells intertwining together. Of Christmas traditions continuing and new ones being formed. I love Christmas! And I can't wait until I can spend it in California! The countdown to Cali begins!

We are moving again!

Blake just got new orders today and we will be stationed at...... (drum roll please)- Fort Carson in Colorado, near Colorado Springs sometime next summer. Once Blake gets back from deployment we'll be in New York to tie up some lose ends, then we will be moving again! I am excited because we will be stationed on the West Coast again and will be closer to family! And it makes me even more excited for Blake to come home, if that is even possible! LOL . I can't wait for the new adventures we'll have in Colorado! Now Blake has to hurry up and finish his deployment so he can come back to me and we can get this show on the road!

Halfway there.....

We are half way through the deployment! Hopefully the rest goes by fast! Because I miss Blake and I want my hubby back!

A eventful 2 weeks....

Blake just left yesterday to go back to Afghanistan after his two week leave. And it was awful when he left.... I bawled like a baby! Anyways back to his vacation/leave. I will start at the very beginning about our experience. A couple days before Blake came for his leave, the check engine light came on our car (and I know nothing about cars, other how to drive them, so I didn't know what to do). And on my way to pick Blake up from the airport our car broke down and I had to scramble to get a tow truck to tow it into town and then find a ride to the airport (in Syracuse) to pick up Blake. We were planning a trip to Orlando (to go to Disneyland and Universal Studios) and we wanted to leave the next day. And we were hoping that the car problem wasn't major so we could go on our trip.

Well we had the car checked out and the mechanic said I blew the engine/head gasket. So the Orlando trip went straight out the window when we found out. :( Because we had to figure out weather we wanted fix our old car (the matrix) or try and buy a new one. It was a difficult/expensive decision either way and not many dealerships wanted to play ball with us. But we finally found one that was reasonable and was offering us a pretty good loan on a 2008 Toyota Rav 4. So now we have a newer car! But like I said it was a difficult/expensive decision. We had to pay to get the car towed three times, we also had to pay a mechanic for looking at the car, get a rental car, plus a down payment on our newer car.

Blake also accidently put his ipod touch through the washer (he didn't check his pockets before he washed his clothes) and in turn killed his ipod. But he had a warranty on it, so he is getting a check for a new one in the mail. Yeah!  So since the trip was cancelled, we pretty much stayed at home while he was home. But that was fine, we just saw a couple movies (at both of our drive-ins and the local theater) and went out to eat a couple of times. But I think that is what Blake needed (to relax). We also went on a mini vacation/day trip and went to Six Flags in New Jersey, which was fun. We had a fun fourth of July also, we went to one of our local drive-ins and we were able to see the movie and the fireworks! Now I hope the next couple of months fly of Blake's deployment go as fast as the first couple months went. Because I want my hubby back!

Here we go....

Blake deployed earlier this month and I really miss him. I am a very lucky girl, in that I get to talk to Blake fairly often on skype (unlike some of my friends who only get a letters or a phone call here or there). I have been sick lately and I am so frustrated, because my doctor doesn't think that there is anything wrong. Rrrrrr! I hope I get over whatever is wrong with me! Also, I have been putting in so many applications/resumes around town. And have had many many interviews and still no job! Another reason to be frustrated! I really hope I get a job soon, I need something to get my mind off the deployment or make it go by faster. Luckily,  I get to see Blake in a few months (end of June/early July), the army has the soldiers' come home for a break in the middle of their deployment (for two weeks). So here is hoping that June/July comes fast! I really hope it does!

2 year wedding anniversary

Yesterday was our two year wedding anniversary, and it honestly doesn't seem like we have been married that long! It seems like our wedding day was just yesterday! But a lot has happened in the last year, we got our first house, we moved from California to New York (yuck!), we got a male weimaraner, and we had four surgeries between us (2 for each of us). And I am hoping by our next anniversary that we will have a new addition (or one on the way).We had a pretty laid back anniversary, we just stayed home. Blake made Breakfast and I made our anniversary dinner. Blake is deploying soon, in the next couple months and I am not looking forward to it! I just hope that I find a job soon (I have been trying to find a job for a couple months now), so I have something to do while he is gone and to take my mind off the fact that Blake won't be here for a year. :(

UPDATE- We have moved, we are settled and we got a puppy!

I have been bad about keeping up on the posts,  and a lot has happened since my last post. First off, we have our own house on base and it is awesome (I will post pictures once we have gotten all of our furniture and are a little more settled). I flew out and visited Blake in New York from March 5 to March 15 (well that is when I was supposed to fly back anyway). Due to an unexpected asthma attack I had to postpone my return. By the time I was ready to rebook my flight Blake had gotten his permission to fly home and help with the move. We got a 2 month old male weimaraner that we named Max just before we flew back home to move (our awesome neighbors took care of him while we were gone). We flew back to California on the 20th of March and the army unfortunately only gave us four days to move cross-country. Since being home we have been furnishing the whole house with some extra money we got from our moving allowance. We also bought a new camera, it is very similar to what Blake had before but a newer model and with more features. Once we are settled a little more and have time to set up the house I will post pictures of our house (inside and out) on the blog. In other news, Blake has been sick lately, he went to the doctor and is going to need surgery soon. If you want to know about the surgery, leave a comment.
Here are some pictures of Max

We are moving!!!!!!

We just got orders yesterday to where we will be stationed at........
we will be stationed at Fort Drum in Northern New York. It borders Canada, so it is going to be cold!!!!
I looked up the highs there and it is in the 30s! Burrr!!!!!! Anyways, Blake is leaving tomorrow for Fort Drum to do paperwork and in-processing. Once he is processed and done with paperwork, he will fly out and we will move to New York. It is all going to move fast.... he could be coming home to move us, anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks. And then we have 10 days to make the cross-country trip. I am excited, but a little overwhelmed, because I have never done a move this big! Thank goodness the army is going to move our stuff for us!

Blake graduated and we are moving!

Blake graduated from boot camp last Friday and I am so proud of him! I am kinda bummed though, I took our camera on the trip and forgot to take it on the days of his ceremonies (Thursday and Friday). And then I lost the camera at or in the airport. So I guess it is good that I didn't get any pictures of the graduation, because I would have been kicking myself more for losing the camera. And the army stole a day away from Blake and I, we were supposed to have all day together after his graduation on Friday. And he wasn't released until 8:45- 9:00 pm. But the rest of the weekend was good! Anyways, onto the topic of moving- we are moving very soon. When and where, I have no clue. Blake is awaiting orders to where we will be stationed. And we can be moving anytime between now and the middle of March. Once we get orders it will only be a week or two before we move, so things are going to move very quickly once we get orders.

1 year wedding anniversary and Christmas

Blake and I have been married for 1 year as of yesterday! It went by fast!

Blake has left to go back to boot camp and I already miss him! We had a blast while he was here though! We enjoyed Christmas with just my parents and us. We visited my brother Colin and his wife Megan for Christmas day evening and played games which was fun. And then we visited with my sister Briana (who was in town) and her husband Todd and his family the 26th. We then went to Disneyland and then relaxed for a couple days (which Blake needed). And then we had a anniversary trip to Camarillo for the rest of the time that he was here. I can't wait to see Blake soon for his boot camp graduation! And a can't wait to move... only a couple more months! Sorry I have been so bad about blogging, I hope I get a hang of it and start blogging more.

30 more days!

Reunited and it feels so good...

Our last photo together, before Blake left for boot camp
Blake will be coming home in exactly a month! I am so excited! I miss him terribly and can't wait to see him again. We have a lot planned for Christmas/our wedding anniversary. This is what we have planned so far, to go to Disneyland (to see it all done up for Christmas) just before Christmas. Then spend some time with family. We will then celebrate our anniversary before he goes back to boot camp. It should be fun and I can't wait to see my man!

My first post

Photo evidence that Blake is meant for the army
I figured since Blake and I are newlyweds and the fact that he is going into the army, was a good enough reason to start blogging. Blake will be leaving for bootcamp Oct 05 of this year and will be going to Fort Benning, which is in Georgia. I will not able to see much of him (except during Christmas, New Years, and our one year anniversary, which is right after New Years). But once his is done with bootcamp and some of his training, I will be able to join him on the East Coast. Where he will be doing schooling for his speacialty. I also figured this blog could be a way to see what we are up to for our friends and family while we are away.
