A Little Stitchin'

Gentle Friends, although I would have usually switched over on the 1st to Fruits, I have kept up with Paradise this past week... here's a snaperoo...

... the color is way off in the picture, sorry.  I really wanted to finish up the Pslam before I put it down to work on Fruits... and once I set my mind to something there is very little that will deter me from my goal!   Hopefully, I'll have finished up this last section and gotten to work again on fruits before next week.

A Little Breakfast

Gentle Friends, my story continues... since we are giving up the physical office I needed to make a trip over the Bay Bridge to the office to get my stuff in my area...

(isn't this a great picture of the Bay Bridge span from SF to Treasure Island) since I had been taking some days off around the 4th and we decided to go over on Saturday.  We headed over early so we could have breakfast at a great diner called Betty's Ocean View Diner... 

which by the way has no view of the ocean, the bay, or any water I could make out and is located on 4th Street Berkeley...  this is a really popular place for the area so we got there at 7:30 and were third in line when they opened up at 8.   We got an inside booth!!  The line was enormous the whole time we were there.

... great shot of my finger, but I loved the giant piece of pie hanging over the counter service area... I do love a good piece of pecan pie!!  I had looked at the menu online and knew what I was going to order...

... and I ended up ordering a Souffle Pancake, with apples...

... imagine a puffy, eggy popover... delish!!

Michael ordered the souffle with summer fruit...

Rico got eggs over hard with crispy bacon ... and rye toast... he hates rye bread it was supposed to be sourdough...

... and John got the Banana Pancakes, which he said were delicious.

So, things are getting back to a more normal pace out here.  We went to a BBQ at a friend's house on the 4th and that was fun... and the weather has been really super SF Summer weather, lots of fog, and the temps hovering in the mid to low 50's.... gotta love this Bagdad By the Bay!!!

A Little Stitchin'

Gentle Friends... I picked up Paradise and have gotten the checker-board border completed... and it met up without a problem... woohoo!!  Here's a snaperoo...

... it's a wrinkled mess and looks awfully blue in the picture but you get the idea...  I've already started thinking about the next piece to pick up when this one wraps... I think I'm leaning heavily towards another sampler... I do love a good sampler!!  Then there is Hallowe'en... I think I've landed on a great piece for the Fall to stitch...  so many projects so little time!

A LIttle Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends, I finished up the rest of the 6th part of Fruits over the weekend... here's a snaperoo...

...  I made a major counting mistake in the big pale blue section and had to frog quite a large section... so I was surprised when I finished the entire section up and can now pack this away until the 1st of July when Part 7 arrives - and  - since I took off a few days around the 4th I'll get a good head start right out of the gate.

That's about all that is going on around here... except we did get a tremendously good piece of news at last weeks Zoom Meeting.... it is for certain that our office is closing up and we are taking a much smaller space AND that we are all getting to work from home permanently.  I am super happy about that... no commuting, no fighting for parking, no Muni or Bart  (the local public transport systems here in the Bay area) so from now on I will be at my dining room table for work and Zoom meetings!!

A Little Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends here is where my two projects are at the moment... first up is "Paradise"...

.. I was ecstatic about that "unfudgable" border meeting up.  So often with a border, I've had to adjust a stitch or two but this one was spot on.

Since it is the beginning of the month I also received the next section on "Fruits"... 

and got to stitching on that...

,,, as I always have done I am laying in the dark blue first.
