We had a long and cold Winter, followed by a cold and wet Spring. It's finally getting a bit wormer and we (or at least I do) feel the need to go out, meet friends, meet new people. What better way to do it, if not over the weekend? You can take a walk through the old streets of Ljubljana, Maribor or Ptuj, you can take a walk into the park, buy some friut at a marketplace, drink coffee, read a newspaper and along the way also visit one of many Art Shows. And belive me, there are many Art and Craft Show in Slovenia to choose from. You really don't need to go far. Here are a few ideas in chronological order.
Umetniški sejem park Tabor will be held this Saturday in Ljubljana's Park Tabor. For those of you who don't know where this is - park Tabor is very close to
Slovene etnographic museum (SEM) and it so happens that this Saturday SEM is organizing workshop for families on working with clay. So you could visit both workshop and Art Fair! Slovene Etnographic museum's Cafe has very lovely ambience as well as good coffee & cakes. Perfect! I love this part of Ljubljana and I truly admire
Prostorož for what they do. You rock, keep it going!
ARTMAR will also be held this Saturday in Maribor's Grajski trg. If you'd like to meet and chat with me, this is the fair you need to see. There will be around 60 artisans, lots of workshops, live music and vintage corner where you can exchange clothes. What more do you need? I like Maribor and it's nice atmosphere, friendly people, so I just can't wait until Saturday. Come and say hi!
FairArt will be held on June the 15th in Ljubljana's Park Slovenske reformacije. I've never been to FairArt, but the Park itself is very beautiful. 40 artisants, 2 free workshops. This Fair is definitely on my "to see" list.
cART - sejem unikatnih izdelkov is held every 3rd Saturday in Celje in front of Osrednja knjižnica Celje. I've never been, but I hear it's very nice.
TUU - Tržnica unikatov in ustvarjalnosti is also held every 3rd Saturday in old part of Ptuj.
Tal1t - creativty and talent expo is held every 4th Sunday, that means it will be held on June the 30th. Where? In Koper's Prešernov trg.
ARTish is very well know and doesn't need any more presentation. It his held every last Saturday in Ljubljana's Gornji trg. Next will be held on June the 29th.
Sejem starin, domače obrti in darov narave is also held every last Saturday in Piran's Tartinijev trg and it's organized by
Anbot. I love this show because it's held near the sea and the atmosphere is just beautiful.
Did I miss anything? Do you have any good or bad impressions or experince with art shows? I'd love to know! Let me know below in the comments!
