When do you know u''ve aged.......not tat young anymore....
Met up with my uni mates, the gang of B33 on Wednesday. Haven't seen some of them for quite some time.... ppl like XT, SF,Clar,Stacey, SP,Val n Uru. Everyone was late... as usual... and by the time everyone was there (abt 5pm), we could only spend abour 30mins together before the numbers begin to drop. First, XT n SF took their leave.... then Clar n Stacey...... finally, there was only 4 of us left by 6.15pm.....
Well, everyone's got their commitments so we're kinda used to it. But we did had lots to talk abt... and what struck me most was the type of topic that we were discussing. 3 years ago, when we're newly acquainted in 1st yr of uni, we've always chatted abt the borin lessons, where to have fun, whether to go clubbing or not, how to celebrate ppl's bday etc etc etc ... but on wednesday, the topics involved were all about marriages, relationships, guy-gal issues etc etc.... and we really do have a LOT to talk on tat i guess. Considering tat we managed to chat n hang out till about 11+.... I guess the days of youth are already behind me now.... i'm not young anymore.. and this fact JUST hit me... am i slow to realise tat or have i been living in denial all along? But I'm still gonna have my share of fun in UNi... maybe just not as much as i used to....
So ppl.... if u suddenly realise that your topic of the day has changed ... similar to wat happened as above.. probably u're past the youth stage alrdy.....but its not tat bad.... we're still young...just not tat young...hahaha
Quote of the day : "Guys are bastards."
My reply.... True... hahha
World Cup 2006..... from my point of view....
World Cup 2006 is nearing the end... later tonite... Italy will play against France to determine the winner. My support goes to Italy because i really think they have been the most consistent and solid team throughout the tournament. After the heartbreak in USA 94, i believe it's high time Italy lift the World Cup once again. As for France, the only reason i'll be glad if they win is becoz of Zizou. He's the one reason why France is in the finals. Henry, Thuram, Ribery etc... sorry... I don't think they really deserve the trophy at all.... Henry has 3 goals but his performance hasn't really been tat good.... Ribery is a good young player but he isn't consistent enough. Above all, I truly think that Italy, despite their reputation as a defensive fortress(only onbe goal conceded and tat was an own goal), has been displaying an attractive form of attacking football (yes, it's football, not soccer) that is among the best so far in World Cup 2006. Their passing, one-twos and runs all showed their confidence esp in the match against Germany. So tonite, i'll be hoping for an Italy victory. Forza Italia!!!
Apart from the upcoming finale, the whole tournament so far has been brilliant. The goals are wonderful, the crowd are boisterous, the fans are fanatical and there's generally more attacking football being played by the countries (hell, even Germany which I've hated all along for their boring, cold blooded football is playing nice attacking football). Many goalkeepers have complained about the official ball and I can see why. The ball is also one of the reason why there's so many goals in this tournament.
If there's one thing that i would rather forget about this tournament, it'll be the officiating of the matches. This World Cup has been a record breaking one. The most cards shown, the most sending off, and i would say, the most kill-joy officiating ever in World Cup's history. The mistakes made by the referees are also very frustrating and i believe it really has made FIFA a laughing stock. Incorrect offsides decision, unnecessary yellow cards, tendency to flash the red(except for Graham Poll for his patience to allow 3 yellow before a red...) ... Only after the semi-finals, did they raise the call for a summit on play-acting ... What's the point? The tournament is already almost over... shouldn't they have considered this aspect when they conducted the briefing for all the officials chosen to officiate the matches BEFORE the tournament? I don't think this is an issue that they could have overlooked..... but then again, who's expecting anyone to step up and admit their shortcomings?
Ok i think i've lamented enough on that.... shall stop before anger takes control.. hahah. World Cup 2006.... let's hope for a nice ending (Italy wins) .... ^_^
