Recent happenings..
Now that i'm in Yr 3 of my uni life, I can't help but feel old esp when i see so many fresh faces around in campus. All the newbies in campus seem so energetic and vibrant.. esp students from the new schools, Art, Humanities n Soc Sci etc .... It is ever so easy to differentiate between the 'jedi knights' and the 'young padawans' ...We're now into the 5th week of the new semester and almost 1 month since my last post. I'm not too busy with studies yet but there's quite a lot of new 'commitments' that i have. Now that i'm staying in a single room, I have new neighbours and also a drastically different level of involvement in the hostel. I'm interacting more with my frens in hall coz we're now basically staying much closer to one another( i'm referring to those who are very involved in hall activities) compared to past years where i'm staying further away. So nowadays, i've been involved more in the inter-block games, trainings and also supper trips. While i'm glad to hang around with them, I certainly hope my studies won't suffer becoz of tat! (ok.. i'm looking for excuses for my 'slackness'...)
Another thing tat has been weighing on my mind is my impending trip to Tokyo in mid Sept. My prof just told me tat i have to book my accomodation myself.. great.. and the best part.. the cheapest stay that they suggested is about 130 sing dollars per nite.. which comes up to about 650 dollars for the 5 nites.... the total amount for flight, accomation n registration fees will come up to be about 2500 dollars BUT the uni only will give me a maximum reimbursement of 2000 dollars AFTER the whole thing... can't imagine adding all the expenses that i'll incur over there... sure sux!! So ppl.... not everything is as rosy as it seems..... having the chance to travel to Tokyo is definitely goood... but i'll be all alone while trying to figure out the streets, train routes there and of coz.. photo taking... sigh.. is there anyone who's interested to go Tokyo with me? of coz.. all expenses will be self-paid..... Travelling alone is nice when one has all the time in the world and the financial ability to sustain a decent spending..... Maybe i should be more positive... at most i'll have no / less pics with myself in it.. hahah
