What a week!
Wow what a week last week. It was so so busy. First since the navy is keeping us here for a little bit longer we decided to get a cheaper aprt. That was no easy task. We had several weeks to find one and finally on the last Saturday before we were supposed to be out we found one. So Sunday was a wonderful day of rest and Monday we got to work. We needed boxes so we went on to Craig's list and found some free boxes but it wasnt enough so I had to go to Home Depot and buy some more. Then we started to pack everything we could into all of the boxes we had and set them off to the side till we got the Uhaul. Monday night we rented the Uhaul and started loading it up with all that we had boxed and ready to go, which was more than half of all our things. We got to sleep around 12:00. Tuesday morning up at 7 to take care of Ginger and start on the last things that could fit into the Uhaul. By 12:30 the truck was unloaded into our new home. But that was not everything from the old apartment. So I went back there took a nap and waited for Carolyn to come home from work and then we got most of that pile into the truck and over to the new place. Then to the Uhaul back. We stayed at the old aprt. that night cause it was closer to the base. So Carolyn went to work on Wednesday and I loaded all of the last tidbits into her car and took it over to the new place. Set them down and headed back to pick up Carolyn. Since it was Thanksgiving weekend she got a 4-day-weekend. Well Dad called me Tuesday and said that Grandpa Marcus had died and invited us to the funeral and Thanksgiving dinner. So we took him up on his offer and left Wednesday afternoon. We got to the house around 12:15 Thursday morning. So we went to the Loveridge's house and had Thanksgiving lunch with them at 1 and at 3 Thanksgiving dinner at the Kidds. Friday we went shopping for presents and stuff that we needed at Kohls, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Deseret Book, Ross, Wal-mart, and others. Saturday was the funeral and lunch at Chuck-a-Rama. After we just relaxed and played games. Oh how we loved every moment. We definitely miss Utah and the cool weather of fall and winter. We drove home and Sunday. We started at 10 a.m. and got to Las Vegas in good time. From there on it was stop and go. Once in awhile we were able to get up to 75 but it didn't last too long. It was all coming home traffic. We only saw one wreck in the one hundred miles of traffic. I swear that California drivers are not that great at driving. Fast or slow. So we finally got home around 10:30 when we should have got home at 7. Terrible traffic. We had to clean the house a little bit since we left everything packed up in the house. So we got to sleep around 11:30. Monday was unpacking and setting up day. I got most of it done and wanted the help of Carolyn to put on the finishing touches. It is a nice place and will have to put pictures up some day. That was our Thanksgiving week.

STAY PUT SAILOR!!!
So here is the deal. Today we just got the final decision from a doctor in the navy. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO GO TO HAWAII. Not now and it probably won't be in the near future. We are to stay here till this doctor says we are good to go. Now here is the funny thing. The doctor won't even be around to examine the situation. In fact he barely looked at our situation at all. In the past month we saw him only once. We believe that we have improved and are still improving. But I get the feeling that he doesn't even care. So all of our plans have come to a complete stop (luckily my truck was not on the ship yet). So we are still getting out of this apartment and looking for something cheaper. We need more room for Ginger to play in as well. Boy this doctor is on my nerves. Wish us luck. We are definitely going to need it.

starting out
So everyone in my family has a blog so i guess I need to join the action. This is my first time and I really don't know what to say. How about this. I am Brandon Kidd. As of now I am living in San Diego with my wife Carolyn who is in the navy going to school. Soon we will be heading to Hawaii for the rest of her enlistment. We have been married for two and a half months now and have enjoyed it so far. We have added a new member to our little family. A 10 week old boxer named Ginger. She is going to be the perfect dog. Probably just as great as my sister's boxer Roxy. They even look alike, Ginger and Roxy.
So here is an experience that happened to me Sunday. I woke up with abdominal pain thinking it was from something I ate last night. I continued on with my Sunday activities as usual though. By 4 o'clock the pain had increased dramatically and I could barely stand or eat anything. I tried to rub it away, cause that is what I usually did in the past, and it started to move down to my right lower quadrant of my torso. Carolyn finally suggested that we go to the hospital and I agreed. We went to the Naval Medical Center and checked in around 6:00. By 6:30 I was laying on a bed with and I.V. in my arm and a surgical team coming to see me for appendicitis. By this time luckily the pain had decreased and was tolerable. 7:00 came by and I finally got to talk to that team or at least one of them and others followed within the next two hours. So I was definitely going to have surgery for the first time in my life. So by 10:30 I was prepared and going under the knife. It was so cool to feel myself fall asleep and know what was going to happen. When I woke up it was like turning on your computer. Everything had to turn back on. Smell...check, Hearing....check, Memory....check, Sight....slow to respond, Thirsty....yes, Pain in stomach area.....YES. It was so cool to go through that. No the pain makes me think twice but If I could just to it to play around then I would do it. So now I am on the mend of things. It is so wonderful that Ginger is such a good calm dog or I would be hurting still. The doctor said I need to walk and she gives me a reason to walk. Otherwise I don't think I would. So that is it for now till next time.
