OH CANADA!

Brenton served in the Calgary, Alberta mission from 2005-2007 and hadn't been back since. October 13-17 we had school and work off, so we decided to take a quick weekend trip up there. The drive was long (~12 hours), but we had so much fun!

BANFF
My favorite part of the trip was Banff National Park. It was BEAUTIFUL and there is so much fun/outdoors stuff to do. I was sad we could only spend a half day there. I told Brenton next time we go I plan to stay a few days. :)

I plan to ride one of these ice busses out to a glacier next time we go.

The water was so clear!

CALGARY
Brenton was so excited to get donairs in Calgary.
Downtown Calgary
They like to put the maple leaf on everything. :)
We went to see where they are building the new temple-- This is all there was to see.

PEOPLE WE VISITED
The Highams, Jerry Chong, and Lauren.

The Blenmans

CARDSTON TEMPLE

In Canada they have cops stand on the side of the road and radar then flag you down and give you tickets.... Brenton got pulled over by one hiding behind a sign. When he first stepped out in the road I thought it was just a construction worker until Brenton said "Well I'm getting a ticket."

July

Everything is still going well out here in Oklahoma. The rain/floods finally stopped and now it is just plain HOT! I feel so bad for the Brenton out there knocking in the heat every day while I'm home in the air conditioning. He is such a hard worker and I am so proud of him for how well he has done this year. We have made a lot of friends out here, but really miss our families and friends back home. Summer has gone by so fast and we are getting so excited to be back in Utah! Only TWO more weeks!

4TH OF JULY!
This year the 4th of July fell on a Sunday, which was great because it is the boys' only day off. Our original plans were to light off our own fireworks on the night of the 3rd then go to Bricktown for Red, White, and Boom on the 4th, but the weather wasn't the best on the 4th here. So rather than going downtown for the festivities, a group of us went and raced go-carts indoors then lit off our own fireworks again in the park. Oklahoma doesn't enforce firework laws so we got some pretty big ones. It was a lot of fun!

BRICKTOWN
One Sunday afternoon we decided to go for a walk around Bricktown with the Palmers. There is a canal that runs down a line of shops, restaurants, and bars. It is actually quite pretty.

Toby Keith is from here, so they have a bar/grill dedicated to him.

CHOCOLATE EXHIBIT/MUSEUM
We saw some advertisements for a chocolate exhibit at a museum close by, so of course we girls had to go check it out. When we got there we found out that our tickets for the chocolate museum also got us into the rest of the exhibits in the museum. We saw a lot of interesting things and had a lot of fun.
