Noelle and Aaron celebrate birthdays within a week of each other!  They are busy with 3 little ones and being a pastor and the wife of a pastor, definitely two and a half full time jobs!  What fun!

Happy Birthday Elijah!

December 7th Elijah celebrated 4 years!  Our little guy is growing up!  He is interested in "how" things work and is always has a question for Grandpa Jeff.  He needs no entertainment when he comes for a visit as long as he can follow Grandpa:)  Grandma's wild rice soup and mashed potatoes are favorites at our house.  Elijah is the guy in the middle - an older sister and a younger brother!  What fun!

Happy Birthday Heather! & Happy Anniversary too!

Heather celebrated a birthday on Nov. 14th.  She and Blair live in West DesMoines, IA.  Heather is a busy lady with work, taking care of Stella and Elmer, and of course Blair.  We spent some time with them earlier this fall. They have a lovely home and are the best host and hostess.  Although they live a distance away we know that they are close in heart.  

Blair and Heather will also be celebrating an anniversary on the 27th of this month!

Today October 11th is Danielle and Paul's 9th wedding anniversary!  The years have passed quickly!  They have two beautiful children Natalie, who is 7 and John, who is 5.  All kinds of activities keep them busy all day and most evenings!  We are blessed that everyone is in good health!

Happy First Birthday Micah!

Yesterday, October 6th we celebrated Micah's first birthday.  What a fun time we all had!  Micah is a smiling toddler exploring every where and every thing.  Micah seems to have an ear for music!  Often times we have noticed that when the music starts Micah will stop and turn to the direction of the notes.  Who knows what gifts he may possess.  Lauren and Elijah are great play mates.  Aaron and Noelle are busy parents - what fun for them.

Happy "5th" Birthday John!

Today our grandson, Danielle and Paul's son, Natalie's brother is 5 years old!  He loves to spend time fishing, playing Lego's, and has a smile that is delightful and a contagious giggle.  His eyes twinkle and make you just wonder what he is thinking.

Our youngest daughter is "30" today!  Wow, Aba-daba-nana-baby!  (did I get that right?)  What a young lady she has become - in fact she is going to have a daughter of her own!  Time goes quickly but the memories last forever in our hearts.

Happy "5" Year Anniversary Abby & Dan!

"5" years brings a lot of changes!  Abby and Dan celebrated on Saturday their anniversary.  So much to look forward to  - the birth of their first child in January.  It seems that all the other "stuff" is just stuff but having a new baby does start a new chapter in a relationship!  What a blessing to have a great marriage and now a baby!

Happy Birthday Dan!!!!

Behind again!  A belated birthday to our favorite youngest daughter's husband Dan!  Time goes quickly and although we did pass our wishes on to Dan on the day, July 14th I didn't get our wish here.  Dan is a wonderful guy in all the special ways that one can hope for.  My favorite part is his sense of humor :-)!!!!  He is there when we need an extra pair of hands and also seems to anticipate when something needs to be done.  Also he is a super help in the kitchen.

Miss Lauren Gayle Brockmeier turns five on May 23rd and she is a delight to everyone.  She takes the best care of her Cocoa (dolly), it is amazing how children imitate real life.  Lauren loves to help with her brothers and is always willing to lend a hand to whatever project you are doing, cooking, gardening, cleaning - anything!

Happy Birthday Blair! (4/21)

Happy Birthday to our son Blair! (I can't remember how to upload a picture, oh dear!) The little ones when they learn to say Blair's name, usually it ends up sounding like "Bear" ---- although he may be the size of a small bear he is a "Teddy" bear at heart. Blair has covered a lot of ground, literally these last couple of years with a job change and moving to West Des Moines, IA but he is always close in heart.

Happy Birthday Danielle! (4/17)

Our oldest daughter celebrates a birthday! In the commotion of everyday happenings we still need to take a moment to celebrate birthdays! Danielle celebrated 36 years yesterday! I don't feel old enough to have a daughter 36 - must be only 26 or maybe 16??? But when we made our birthday visit we were reminded that yes how could someone so young accomplish so much in such a short time! Being a Mom to two children, wife, and having a very successful career does take some time so I guess she is that old. Did you ever want time to slow down just a little so you could catch up?? I guess I feel that way today! None the less our oldest daughter is a joy to us and we are very proud that she is "ours"!

November 27, 1922 - March 14, 1012

My Mom, Katherine Cecilia joined my Dad on March 14, 2012.  We were able to be with her until she took her last breath.  It is hard to imagine a feeling of peace when someone leaves us here in this world but for Mom it was.  She gradually left us and by doing this we were able to spend some special moments with her.  I especially liked the early morning when I would pray with her, read to her, and share with her.  In my heart I know she was with me and knew that others stopped to say their "good-byes."   We were experiencing unseasonable warm weather, the birds were singing and we had a lot of sunshine.  And so when she left us here she left us with the warmth in her heart for a time when we will be with her again.

We miss you Mom and do hope that Dad has gotten you into that fishing boat in heaven!  

We just welcomed Greta Kaye - another little girl with your name:) (1/27/2013) I think she has your eyes.

"Miss Natalie is 7!" (3/4/2012)

Our Miss Natalie is 7! She is a delight - just ask her Grandpa and Grandma. She attends first grade at Mary Queen of Peace, loves to read and do math, is a girl scout, and will sew and bake with Grandma whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Happy Birthday Paul (2/5)

Happy Birthday Paul!

Paul does a lot of stuff! He is a great Dad, hubby to our oldest daughter Danielle and he is a counselor working with challenging young adults. He does take some time to relax and enjoy the outdoors - be it hunting of all sorts and fishing and camping with his family. This is a picture of him with Natalie at Christmas with their new "camp kitchen" that Jeff made him. He seemed excited about it and this will fit right into all their camping trips. Along with Danielle and their children Natalie and John they all enjoy the outdoors.

"Happy Birthday Noelle!"

Today January 3rd is Noelle's our second oldest daughter birthday! As I was going through pictures it was hard to find Noelle all by herself - with three young children and being a Pastor's wife there is no end nor beginning of most of her days - we do remind her often to take one day at a time but sometimes they just blend into many! Noelle continues to amaze us in all that she does. I frequently get baking tips from her - such fun to share. She has learned to make the best of the situation and move on - as she did last year in this cookie baking photo (notice spatula between beaters)! (She wouldn't use that mixer this year :)
