What a city!

Well, we are home! We arrived late last night after 23 hours of straight travel with about 2 hours of sleep. First answered prayer, Isaac did amazing the whole time!! He adjusted almost instantly to the time change and was a little trooper being out for 8-10 hours straight most days. We knew that God was giving us grace and covering Isaac so well.

It's hard to know where to start so I'll just say, our time in Brussels was significant in many levels. We were able to meet with a NGO one day, a church-planter the next, have dinner with another ministry partner and coffee with yet another, we looked at apartments, talked to people in neighborhoods, walked the rough parts of the city and prayed in the streets, visited major historical sites to learn more about the strongholds of the city and did I mention pray, pray, pray!! Yes, this trip was packed full.

We were shocked and amazed again at just how diverse the city really is. It's like no other place I've ever been.

Since I'm still jet lagging a bit I'll stop there for now but I will write more details soon.

Prayer Request and Praise: Also, while we were gone, my mom who was watching our kids had to leave suddenly because my dad put in the hospital with a bad leg infection. He's been in the hospital ever since. The praise is that our friends rallied around us and took care of our kids for us until we got back! Thank you Jenna, Cindy, Rosie and Ashley-you are all such a blessing-thanks for standing in the gap while we were away!

Please pray for us in Brussels!

Today is such a Brussels day! It's cold and wet and raining like crazy...oh I'm getting excited!!

Well, we leave tomorrow for Brussels and we are now 100% funded! Thank you Jesus! We are very excited but wanted to give a quick update and some prayer points for all you people of prayer.

My mom who graciously offered to watch Sydney & Aaron here in Waco arrived last night. The kids were so excited to see her they wouldn't let her out of their sight all night and were never more than an arms-length away. I'm glad they will be in such loving hands and that they are so excited about us leaving!

We are busy packing, getting last minute details finalized and praying for our trip. We would love for you join us in prayer during this trip. Here are a few ideas of what to pray for:

Saturday, March 10: Pray for our travel with Isaac all day and night (11 hours of plane travel). Please pray for him to sleep well and stay healthy and on schedule as much as possible with the time change and fast pace. Also, for health (last time Sydney got a bad ear infection) and safety for the kids and Grandma Carol while we are away :) Proverbs 3:1-If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Sunday, March 11: Pray for wisdom and discernment as we pray through the possibility of moving to Brussels. We would love a clear word, either way. Psalm 127:1-Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.

Monday, March 12:
For our contact meetings to be fruitful and helpful. God is already setting the stage for us in Brussels. We plan to help with a service project within the city during our time there, as well as, meet with multiple contacts who are in full-time ministry. As many of you remember from last year, Brussels is where we got to share with a house full of Afghan refugees. Acts 20:35- In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Tuesday, March 13:
The city is full of opportunities for ministry so please pray for a narrowing for a specific type of ministry. Ephesians 2:10-For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Wednesday, March 14:
Pray for the city of Brussels. Pray that the strongholds over the city would released and that people would be set free from the spirit of religion, addiction and deception! Isaiah 61:1-He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...

Thursday, March 15: Again pray for our travel with Isaac all day and night. Also, pray as Susan and I process the week together. Pray for grace and peace over our words and communication. Pray for unity. Ephesians 4:3-Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

We will try to send an update during our trip but if not we will when we get back. Thank you for praying.
