Leave this week

Just wanted to write a little blurb here. We are busy washing clothes, creating packing lists, shopping, and trying not to forget anything for our trip. We leave this Thursday at noon! People keep asking if we're excited and the answer is YES! We will however 'feel' that excitement more when we step on to the plane knowing that all the details, the kids, and the grandparents are settled for their time together too.

We also will be sending out some prayer points shortly for you all to pray for while we're away. We will be entering some dark places while in Europe, Amsterdam specifically and will need much covering. We are so thankful for our family and friends that are committed to praying while we are gone. We can't wait to share what God is doing!

One Down and One to Go!

We just wanted to update you all that our first trip to Europe has been fully funded! We have experienced the goodness of God through the gifts we have received. It's a daily journey to rely on Jesus. We find ourselves learning to submit to his plan and his ways and put aside our own. It's been a rocky process and when I say process, I mean we are still in it but the journey is well worth it! He said it...so we know we can believe it!

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9

So now we will continue to raise support for our trip to Peru in June. The amount is intimidating to us but we know that all things are possible with God. It's exciting that as of 2/13 we are actually 17% of that goal too!

Celebrating 1 Year in Waco!

It's official! Today marks one year in Waco! We have enjoyed this last year so much. It has come with many challenges as well as many blessings. We have made so many friends, connected with our church and are learning more about falling in love with Jesus all over again! We are so thankful how the Lord has provided for us over the last year! We know that for this season of our lives we are right where we need to be!

Snow Fall in Texas

On Thursday night when we walked out of Elevate there was about 1/2 inch of snow! I knew it was in the forecast but didn't believe it until it was coming down. I really felt like we were back in South Dakota for a minute as I linked my arm in Andrew's trying not to fall. Oh, the joy of snow. We were thinking about waking the kids up but as we starting quietly whispering to Sydney there was snow she just rolled over. Her bed was nice and warm so I don't blame her. At breakfast they were both so excited to see the snow and kept saying how it was like Grandpa and Grandma's house this Christmas. Sydney asked if it was Christmas again...I think she was hoping for another round of gifts:) After naps, their request was fulfilled. Daddy took them out and here's a picture of their time in the snow.

Family/Life Verse

I've been wanting to share this passage with you all for a little while now. I really feel like God highlighted these verses for our family and goal for the new year (and always). This is just packed with richness.

9
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Contribute to the needs of the saints and and seek to show hospitality.

14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,"Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." 20To the contrary,V)"> "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:9-21
