san antonio

we went to san antonio this past weekend with my entire family - my mom & dad, both sisters and their families. it was so much fun! the last time we did a "family vacay" was long before kids were a thought in my mind! anyway - it was a great getaway and fun to spend time with everyone. we were sad that ken could not be there but glad cari & her kids made it. lindsey & jason made the longest drive from lubbock. i think everyone will agree that it was well worth it and much needed for our family. it's not very often that all the cousins get to play together. i wish we had made more time to get some good pictures of everyone. but here are a few snap shots from the weekend.

kamdyn is very into jumping right now. she got right up on this ledge and tried to jump into the pool. she is seriously a little dare-devil. she is not afraid of much!

i did actually step foot in this pool for a couple of minutes.

this is lindsey & austin coming down the huge slide...i actually took kamdyn down this slide. looking back it probably wasn't the best idea. it started out with water spraying all over us, it was extremely fast and when we came out we went all the way to the bottom of the pool! i think it scared her to death. but she only cried for a few minutes! what a mean mom i am! that's what happens when there are no lifeguards on duty.

2 months!

we had kyler's two month appointment today. the nurse comes in to do the measurements and then sends the doc in. here's the conversation when the doc first walked in the door today:

haley: hi - how are you?
doc: hi - your baby is a giant!

so that was int. but luckily she means that she is really tall! she is in the 100% for height!!! can you believe that? she is 25 inches long. also, she weighs 12 pounds which is the 82%. so we have a healthy little girl! i totally forgot to get a cute pic of her today in her little pink dress so i just went and took one of her sleeping...cute, eh? we'll get some good pictures of her this weekend, i'm sure! oh - i knew she was tall b/c none of those 0-3 month clothes or pj's are fitting her b/c they are not long enough! it's crazy. i had an outfit on her the other day that kamdyn wore when she was 5 months!!!

also - we finally got kamdyn's nap mat in! i LOVE it! i gave in and got the matching sippy cup as well....why not?! anyway - if anyone needs cute gifts or nap mats it is from www.custombabyboutique.com. she is out of houston and does a great job!

new shoes

these pics are from this morning when we were getting in the car to go to pre-school. kamdyn's teachers at school were thinking that those crocs were bothering her. i'm not sure if it's those or just all shoes?! one of her teachers told me, "most kids actually wear socks and tennis shoes to school." fiiiiiiine. so we went shoe shopping and this is one pair we bought....so cute!!!

weekend fun

this weekend we decided that kamdyn needed a little table and chairs that is more her size. we thought it might be good for activities and maybe some snacks. we let her eat her strawberries here yesterday and she thought she was so cool!

she also loves putting on oven mits. any time she sees them out she goes crazy until we give them to her. it's funny to watch her put them on and play with them. this was right after we cooked dinner tonight. so cute!

8 weeks already!

we can't believe that kyler is already 8 weeks old! she is so cute and such a gooooood, sweet baby. she is really getting so long. all of the 0-3 month pj's are getting too small b/c she is so long! she has been smiling a lot lately and it is adorable! i'm curious to go to her 2 month appt next week and check out all the growth stuff. anyway - here are some fun pics - we are blessed!

yikes ike!

unfortunately our friends, the andrews, had to evacuate because of ike. lucky for us, we got to spend some time together when they stayed with us for a couple of days! their house is okay, but they will not have power for a few weeks. we had a fun few days with a house full of little girls! it was so nice to see them again and i am so happy that they got to meet kyler! here are a few photos from our time together:

this was so cute - just a couple of minutes after they arrived, kamdyn and ainslea just sat down and started reading to one another. they are only 5 weeks apart - it was really fun to watch them play!

kamdyn, ainslea & aubrey went on some adventures through the bushes in our backyard. it was cute and funny but we could hardly see them!

aubrey has such a sweet spirit. she is very thoughtful and such a good big sis. kamdyn needs to take big sister lessons from her! here she is with her set up.

it was so nice that they watched kyler for me on tuesday morning so i could drop kamdyn off at preschool - it was amazing how much easier it was without a stroller!

we are so thankful for our time spent with the andrews. we are sad for their situation with the storm, but glad we got to see them. i have a lot to learn about being a good mommy and i had a great example living with me for a few days! i only wish they lived closer so we could see each other more often and our girls could be great friends. we love y'all!

a year and a half!

i can't believe my kamdyn is 18 months old! she seems like such a big girl - especially since kyler has been born. i was inspired to take her 18 month pics after i took sweet ava's last weekend. what a precious gift we have been given!

first day of school

today was kamdyn's first day of pre-school! we have been very excited and i know she is just going to love it. this morning she was very excited to put on her backpack and carry her lunch box. here are some pics from right before we left. the last one is funny b/c she loves checking herself out in the reflection of the oven...a lot of times she'll dance or jump and laugh at herself. it's great!

window baby, bean bag & boots

what a fun weekend we had! yesterday we went back to church for the first time since kyler has been born. when we went to pick her up the ladies in the nursery were so sweet. they thought she was staying longer and were sad to see her go...they had put her in the bassinet by the window (which looks out to the hall by the sanctuary) so everyone could see her b/c she is so cute! they said she was their "window baby!" love it.

we also got a new bean bag for the girls this weekend. it had to match the pink & white chair we already had, as you can see in the background. i think it will be a fun new thing for them...and apparently for dad. no pics to show how happy he is. :) not sure how the new set up will be in the living room...it's getting very crowded with their stuff!

possibly my favorite purchase in quite some time...these rain boots were on sale at nordstrom and i could not pass them up. i did pass up the rain coat that matches, but i might need to go back for it. kamdyn was loving putting these on the rest of the day. they are a little big (maybe a size or 2?) but she still loves them. don't worry, i will do a photo shoot but this picture cracked me up!
