ew! seriously!
you're lucky this is the only picture i'm posting from our happenings tonight. we are pretty happy about the new appliances we bought this past weekend...dishwasher, oven & fridge. we had to get a new oven b/c ours was hot to the touch when it was on - not so safe for kids! even though kamdyn knows it's hot, she still liked to touch it and say "hot!" so it was time. in an effort to save a couple hundred bucks zack was about 99.9% sure he could install everything himself. oven - done. not sure why he chose the dishwasher next, but it takes a little more time. this is him reading the instructions after getting our old one out. btw - it's gross to take out big stuff like this...underneath - gag! he's now gone to lowes to get the parts that are required but don't come with it. who knew?!
(this is the gross part, so don't read if you don't have kids or get grossed out easily!)
sooooo....since zack was doing this (and still is) i opted to give kamdyn a bath tonight. i have not given her one in so long b/c my belly is so big and it really hurts my back. so once i got the tub filled up, zack turned off the water (to the whole house) so he could take out the old dishwasher, etc. so i am wrapping up bath time and i look down and she has done it. poop. in the bath tub. SICK! this has only happened once before and i was lucky enough to be out of town, so i just heard about it. i thought it was really funny then. not so much now. i pulled her out as quick as i could and she was standing on our white rug in the bathroom. i call for zack, forgetting that the water is turned off so we can't clean it immediately. he helps me get her cleaned up and out of there, but as i look down on the rug there is more poop! GA-ROSS! i couldn't believe it! ugh. that is one of the fun parts of being a parent! i have heard stories like that but have not had to actually deal with it myself!
so there ya go. you really never know what you're going to get in one day. this morning we had a scary accident when she fell off the couch, directly into the corner of the coffee table. she hits her head a lot, but this one looked particularly painful. it was really sad...enough to make me cry, which is rare and actually the first time that has happened to me since she's been born! needless to say, she is okay, as always. i turned on wonder pets (my favorite cartoon) and she was happy. :)
sorry about all the words and not any pictures of kamdyn, but i thought it was worth the post.

mustang sally
kamdyn and i finally made it out to lubbock to meet baby preston (pictures soon to follow)! nathan and kamdyn had such a fun time playing together, especially now that she's really walking everywhere and more on his level. he has this cool mustang that he can drive in the back yard so he wanted to take her for a ride in it. after he drove, he wanted her to drive. her feet wouldn't reach the gas but he helped her. it was so cute!!!

sprinklers!
it's been so warm out we decided to get kamdyn a fun little sprinkler to play in last weekend. we took her outside on sunday night and she had fun! she wasn't sure what to think at first, but she enjoyed getting wet and figuring it all out! of course, she always goes back to the dog's water bowl and loves to splash in it. when she was all done she just went and sat by the back door. it was pretty funny.

team texas
last year for zack's first father's day and his 30th birthday i gave him a gift certificate for team texas (it expires in one year, which is why he FINALLY scheduled it!) anyway - he finally went this weekend and had the time of his life! we are not nascar fans, by any means, but what guy does not want to drive fast?
so he got to drive a race car for 10 laps at texas motor speedway. he got up to 150 mph!!! we had to get up really early to get there on saturday morning, then there's a 30 minute class to sit through and then you get into groups. he was in group 5 so we were there for a little while. but it was beautiful outside and i think it was better that he got to watch the other groups go first! they have an instructor who sits in the passenger seat, just in case. anyway, he said it was a total rush and loved every second! on the way home we were going 70 on the highway and he said it felt so slow. :)
it was fun for him and really fun for me to watch! here are some pictures from the morning!

a very happy mother's day!
so i am an idiot for not taking any pictures on mother's day! but i do want to post about what a wonderful day i had. it's certainly not just about the day, but realizing that i am so thankful, beyond words, for my husband and my daughter. zack does such an amazing job of making me feel like the best mother in the world and it is so special to me. when i look at kamdyn, i can't believe that the lord has blessed us with such a happy, funny, energetic, engaging little girl! i love being her mommy so much and having the privilege of watching her grow up each and every day. being a mom is such a precious gift and i thank jesus for choosing to make me kamdyn's mommy.

the first hair cut
well, the time finally came. this crazy hair needed to be trimmed - at least all evened out! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO SHARON who has been doing my hair since i was a little girl, and is a very close family friend! i was going in to get my hair done and she was sweet enough to cut kamdyn's first. kamdyn did so good. i just held her in my lap and she was so happy. i don't even know if she knew it was being cut. i think it helped a lot, just to even it out. it has so many pretty curls in it, but i always have it up b/c the top was so crazy! so now it looks cute if i decide to just leave it down. there are ringlet curls on top and in the back. it's hard to tell here, but sharon gave me some product to put on it too, if i want. when she got out of the bath tonight, it just curled right up!
