kamdyn got to meet her cousins, austin and brooke this weekend. they were very sweet to her! her other cousin, nate, was here last weekend but he was not interested in any pictures with her! maybe next time.


kamdyn got to meet dane parlin last week - he is so big compared to her! he is four months old and so cute!

my mom left on friday and today was zack's first day back to work. so i am officially on my own with kamdyn! it is going great so far but i know it will be a long day b/c zack has class tonight too so i will not get to see him until around 10pm. good thing she's so darn cute and makes me smile just to look at her!

kamdyn is one week old!

we can't believe it has been one week! we are adjusting to life at home and lack of sleep. kamdyn is an angel and we are enjoying every second of her. here are some of our favorite pictures from this week.

she has arrived!!!

miss kamdyn laine birkelbach joined us on march 8th at 4:26 p.m. she weighed in at 7 lbs, 12 oz and was 19.5 inches long. she is absolutely gorgeous and we are SO in love!!! it has been a hectic, exciting, tiring last couple of days but we are so glad she is here. i ended up having to have a c-section so i am recovering from that as well. we will probably be in the hospital until monday or tuesday. anyway - let's get to what is important...pictures!

morning update!

today is the day!!! last night went pretty well - not too much sleep but maybe around 3 or 4 hours. my water actually broke around 4:15 and then i have been having contractions ever since! at 6am i was dilated to a 4 and they started the pitocin at 7:30 so the contractions are starting to get stronger. not sure when i'll get that epidural...i'm sure it won't be too much longer. it is a beautiful day to have a babay!!!

new development!!!

okay, so last night my feet were really swollen by the time i went to bed. when i woke up this morning they were still huge, along w/ my hands and i had a splitting headache. i had my cousin, heather, who is a nurse, check my blood pressure and it was extremely high. i called the doc and he said to go ahead and come to the hospital. so here we are! they are monitoring everything and will start the induction process tonight. i will start getting the first drug tonight, which will soften my cervix and get it ready. then they will start the pitocin (sp?) tomorrow morning. we should have a baby tomorrow! we are very excited! we are just relaxing and getting some rest tonight. here are some pics from today, including my last meal...it was not that bad. i'm glad they let me eat something but i guess it's just ice chips from now on...more to come when we have an update!

39.5 weeks

she must be comfy...

i had an appointment today - i am a few days past 39 weeks and my due date is on friday....my doctor thinks i will be passing up my due date and will probably make it to the induction date of 3/15. seriously? that is still 10 days away! he said she is probably around 8 pounds now (of course this is just an estimate). but for my appointment next monday he wants to do a sonogram just to make sure there are enough fluids, etc. so i will go back in a week and we'll see if anything has changed. he also said i am officially his most pregnant patient. i guess i should get some kind of award or something.

zack has this week off from school, so that is nice. this week will hopefully be relaxing for both of us. i know it will be for me - no plans! but it will be nice for him not to have class at night or have to study when he gets home from work. doesn't kamdyn know that it would be the perfect time to come into this world since her daddy is off school this week? he gave her a long talk last night - it was really funny because the entire time he was talking to her she was moving around and kicking/punching. when he wasn't talking, she was completely still. it was great!
