ok i guess i have already written loadz bout him .. but cant help it man.. his antics warrant a reaction always from me..
well call me names.. but then i totally spoil him and love to brag bout his histrionics like a proud mama...
he has off late started drinking water from bottle !!
not kidding .. find the proof..
he will always sit or lie beside the person praying
ma would always yell at him to go .. so would baba n baban.. yet he will not budge..
(i am not so much spiritually evolved so ... i dont pray the conventional way like the rest of my family)
but looks like dexter too is a spiritually evolved soul !!
he loves Vanilla ice cream !!
very particular .. wont eat strawberry or chocolate .. thank god.. i love chocolate ice cream !! he is so possessive bout vanilla ice cream that baban (my bro) has to hide it from it and eat else dexy would make real angry faces !!
i, me and my ice cream !!
he gives the warmest of kisses !!
he would lick you crazy and the day he decides he needs to shower his love (literally shower !!!!) the drool would make you go crazy .. n den he would tickle your ears..btw this kinda love is only reserved for me and baban
puppy love eh !!
he loves it when i and bro fight
he would come running the moment he hears us fight and would jump with joy !! we looking at him so excited hlf the time forget why we were fighting !!
maybe we should send him to peace squad
medicine gives him fever
i am the person who ensures he gulps down (literally) his medicines.. he is so smart, the 1st time i get the medicine .. he smells it .. after that .. he runs below the dining table (his haven) and wont budge.. so i have to drag him out ..
literally do the song and dance to make him live ...
code word !!
he hates to go for a shower .. we have to use code words in order to ensure he takes his shower .. we use code words to signal each other so that we are all set to drag him for his shower.. after the shower he dance is hilarious..
whitey whitey dexy does the jive !!
Dexter shakehand..
we had many trainers to train dexter .. but am happy no one was successful.. its like having a butler .. he would do what you ask him.. dexter is spoiled but he has a very good sense of well being.. he will never hurt anyone .. he never gets angry .. well the only training he accepted was of shake hand.. if you say "dexter shake hands"... he would lift his paw.. whenever he does it my baba is all proud .. he would make him practise it regularly in case he forgets it
the emotional atyachaar
i am da laziest person in my family .. that is one thing that my whole family whole heartedly will agree.. the only one who can make me dance is dexter.. he would look with his large helpless eyes at me at odd hours .. and i would do whatever he wants me to do.. play with sponge balls, go out for a walk.. cuddle him ..only one i share my chocolate with... whatever he wants ...
his wish is my command !!
guilty my lord..
he is so awesome that when he knows he has done something wrong he will wait for the whack with his head bowed down.. and of course no one can whack him then .. all he gets is hugs... but when he aint guilty and ma yells at him just fo the heck... he will give her "here she goes on her trip again".. ha ha ha
holla ladies !!
i am still baffled at this one.. whenever he sees good looking women .. of any species .. he goes on "auto drool on" mode and i would have to literally drag him off...
shake your booty
he too loves to grove .. whenever me and bro do the sambha .. he will get all excited and do his doggy moves ....
snuggle snuggle..
in winters he loves to be tucked in his blanket and pillow .. its so cute .. no one would ever think he aint da devil incarnate ..
well i think whoever has a pet at home will understand these sentiments.. but he really rocks my family's lil world.. thank god for him !!
Life is book of mystery. U never know which page will bring a good twist in the story. Keep reading bcoz happiness comes when its most unexpected !! Vivekanand

vote for da change
I had written on my orkut profile “vote for da change”
the reply I got from a friend of mine was “kheda change?” .. meaning “what (kind) change?”
I guess this attitude towards election is synonymous in youths today. We dont like whats happening around us, we dont think much will change and hence we dont contribute to any change but then we complain about it to persons who cannot do much about it.
True not one individual can change the world and it is also true we would n't for sure know if he / she can until we try.
But that was more philosophically speaking but practically speaking we can do one thing that would be the easiest thing for us to do but would play a critical part for change is To Cast Our Vote.
If you feel that none of them deserve your vote then please go ahead and get your vote discarded so that nobody gets to use that vote. If all of us take this small step then maybe the change would be nearer than we expect.
The election turn out this year as compared to previous years in most states was lower.
That is really a worrying issue as we with the biggest youth power in the world are not using our democratic right then the future for sure will be gloomy and then we would really not have anyone to blame.
We called for it !!
So please Vote for Change..
Ladies .. do it for John Ibrahim .. he says its sexy and flaunt it ...
Guys .. the ladies like it ... so go ahead and get that dot to impress that hot chick ..

bloggotherapy !!
my entire family makes fun of my new habit of writing a blog post to express what i feel. I threaten them and also my buddies not to mess with me as the could get their dues on my blog .. i am a firm believer of "dont (only) get mad .. get even !!"
gags apart, i really feel good after expressing what i feel on my blog posts.. it has really become like a therapy for me .. you know once what is making me upset is out there in the post .. it is out of my system and i start feeling better and whatever makes me happy when shared here.. makes the happy feeling last longer and brings a smile to who ever reads it ... (even though its only me who reads it often !!)
so i thought eureka i coined a new word "Bloggotherapy" (i like other marketing professionals have this passion to be the originator of new terminologies)
my bubble was really short lived.. it was already taken .. google can be brutal sometimes...
anyways but i really feel by writing what is bothering us, most of the time helps us to separate the facts from our perception and then helps us see things in a rational manner and then find a solution to our problems..
many a times it might just help to get it out of our system and some other times helps us to take it lightly as someone reading what you have written shares her or his point of view which makes your problem evaporate
i earlier would use retail therapy but my pocket needed another therapy sessions so now bloggotherapy it is .. free of cost ... full of fun.. get new perspective and win new friends.. truly a win win situation .. yipppeee
so happy blogging and bye to sulking !!

who let these dogs out part II
Today I read this interesting article by Aseem Chhabra in Mumbai Mirror on the Slumdog millionaire girl Rubina. His reply to the comment made by his American friend made me smile while reading the paper (which now a days is a rare event !!)
Well his reply to his friend’s comment on news of Rubinas father selling her
Quote
Friend “ Hey what are your country men doing? They are selling their daughters?”
The Reply “Hey what’s the difference between this situation and Macaulay Culkin’s (the cute monster of Home alone 1,2 &3 who stole our hearts) parents pushing their young kids to become actors. Some people believe they sold their children’s youth to film producers.”
Way to go !!
So here we go still go on with Slum Dog Millionaire
And still most advocates of SDM will say we got recognition world wide…
again my qs as what ??
as a poor country filled with crazy people who would do any thing for money ??
again doing any thing for money as proved above is a universal phenomenon !!!
please explain how did India get fame in here ??????????????

Intelligence = number munching ?????
i got riled at a friend of mine who was surprised at something i could figure out that he dint.
that really got me thinking.. its not just my self obsessed cocky friend but many others who think intelligence can be defined at the rate at which you can add few numbers, solve a mathematical equation or play with some electronic gadgets !!
When I was in school, the healthy competition amongst kid was good fun. But the term genius would be always given to the one with 100/100 in Maths. I would always wonder why ?
my father would come especially to check my maths paper (which was something i still shudder thinking) and would yell at me for making silly mistakes in my Maths paper alone !!! He too came from the school of thoughts "if you aint good at maths you aint good at all !!"
so the tradition continued with my bro too who is 7 yrs younger.. but i had an edge there .. i had by then figured out a new way of judging intelligence.. for me comprehending ideas, understanding and using the nuances of language was passion and so i made that my own parameter.. so my bro was in for a double whammy .. me and baba..
but then i realized that was real unfair, he was great at arts and the best part about his drawings was you could not make head nor tail about what he is drawing untill he completed 75 % of it.
i started looking at him for what he was.. he definitely was intelligent and in a very different sort of way from me or baba..
there would be n number of egs where the person may not be good at maths or science but would be great at people's skill, awesome at organizing things or projects, creative with real out of the box ideas or persistent with whatever he / she does and comes up with a new way to do it or diffuse situation which would gain momentum that would put taliban to shame...
i have always drawn inspiration from Richard Branson.. his books always make you feel .. if he can so can you.. that man is one of my favorite eg of brilliance, dare devil cum brave heart, Casanova, on your face .. like it or leave it but cant ignore it ..maverick
well i could go on ranting about him.. neways the point i was trying to make.. i wonder how fast does he counts numbers and how good is he with equation..
another eg is mallika sherawat.. i really admire her marketing acumen.. There are many actors with better assets, much prettier face and truck loads of acting ability but she ensured she hogged the lime light..not only in Bollywood but also in Hollywood..
i think those who believe in "Intelligence = Number crunching" are looking for Instant Gratification in many cases...
they want to prove to themselves and others (not necessarily in that order) that they are more intelligent than others in the only way they know... number crunching .. and their complex brain makes them believe that is the best way of quantifying something as abstract as intelligence..
I googled “Intelligence” and here is what I got
Alfred Binet
Judgment, otherwise called good sense, practical sense, initiative, the faculty of adapting one's self to circumstances...auto-critique.
David Wechsler
The aggregate or global capacity of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his environment.
Cyril Burt
Innate general cognitive ability
Linda Gottfredson
The ability to deal with cognitive complexity
Sternberg & Salter
Goal-directed adaptive behavior
Too many jargons??
Try this one ..
Intelligence is an umbrella term used to describe a property of the mind that encompasses many related abilities, such as the capacities to reason, to plan, to solve problems, to think abstractly, to comprehend ideas, to use language, and to learn. There are several ways to define intelligence. In some cases, intelligence may include traits such as creativity, personality, character, knowledge, or wisdom. However, most psychologists prefer not to include these traits in the definition of intelligence.
To add to this what research found that People with High IQ (Intelligence Quotient – the parameter used to quantify intelligence) were not always successful in life.. that lead to the invention of EQ (Emotional Quotient) which states that “the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions.”
Its been said that it is so complex that new defs and modification are being constantly made in this field ..
For those who are more interested, read up
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_intelligence
So my point being .. those with higher EQ its time to rise and shine and show the world what you got baby…
Don’t get bullied by the number bully .. their rein is short lived… show them who the warrior of the long battle really is !!!
And those with higher IQ, go on .. have fun till the sun shines on you .. oh.. the sun already hid under the clouds now eh !!!!
PS interesting books by Richard Branson which are a must read for anyone who dreams big and also for those who have n’t dreamt yet ..
* Loosing my Virginity
* Screw it lets do it
( guys you will be disappointed if you looking for porn in these two books !!)
* Business stripped bare
(na not here too !!!)
During my search online for origin of EQ i ran into this interesting piece as well

hunt for the silver lining
Yesterday was an eventful day for me.
My Ma wakes me up in the morning to tell me to be very careful as she the whole night had seen bad dreams about me. I usually am a believer of omens but was so busy with work that I totally forgot about this.
In the evening when I come home I find my wallet missing. In my case my wallet contains all my credit cards, debit cards, driver's license and club membership cards. Whats even best I dint have the credit nor debit card numbers with me.
So there starts a series of phone calls to block all credit and debit cards. My experience with HSBC was one to leave such a bitter taste that I am off that bank. Not only do they go on repeating N raise to infinity number of times that the bank is not responsible in terms of loss but also hassle in terms of procedure for blocking. They spend time reconfirming that I have lost the card and repeating everything I had just confirmed for records.
I spend some 18 minutes to block my card and was dreading what lay ahead.
Well as they say after bitter is sweet, so thats what was my experience with ICICI, Manhattan and Citibank. All of them taken together dint take 18 minutes and we are talking of credit and debit cards with these banks. In fact at the end of the call the way each of these Customer care execs expressed their sorry was really touching. I felt it was like a buddy saying she really can understand how miserable I must be feeling.
When in agony if a bank adds on to my woe instead of helping a customer then they really need a 360 deg look into their approach. When in a Service sector the customer comes first in todays world. I did send in a stinker mail to HSBC and I really dont care for a response as once an experience goes bitter during time of need then the trust is totally gone.
And that is one thing (trust) once broken can never be repaired with Time nor efforts. The band aid marks will always remind you of the harm done.
I then started hunting for the silver lining in my cloud.. that was the only way i could cheer myself up..
The silver lining to my cloud : I could block all my cards and learned my lesson the hard way .. never carry all your cards and keep a xerox of all your cards. lucky to have friend to rely on during distress and family that just by being there helps.
But God you could have said this to me in a kinder way for eg hiding my wallet somewhere and then give it back to me ..simple na.. you too like to get in to who is the boss mode.

a lil bit of Pinocchio inside
A lie is an integral part of everybody's life.
Someone who denies this fact is once again reinforcing this statement !!
Thesaurus defines lie as prevarication / untruth / falsehood. When you say lie it mostly sounds harmless but when you delve into the meaning suddenly it seems a sinister demon. Some lies are of no importance.. some change our lives and yet others bring in a tangy twist in our lives. Some leave us speechless and some let the gossip mills running defying that fact that light travels faster than sound !!
We all lie for various reasons and whats more interesting is how we justify our lies. Below are some classic types of lies am sure most of us have used some or all.
“ Dont want to hurt his / her feelings” lie
GF / BF / Spouse to their partners
“Na you dont look fat / ugly / gaudy in that dress”
(baby that you look by default !!)
“Save your ass” lie
kid to mother
“ No mother I did not eat any chocolate”.
And then you muse philosophically, licking off the chocolate from your mouth, if your ma has connections with Sherlock Holmes when she spanks you !!
“Screw Him / Her / Them” lie
Pointing fingers at enemy / enemies with dramatic yelling with loathsome expressions
“He / She / They did it”
without having any clue whats all this about
“Lets humor this hot lier” lie
Hot Blond in the bar says “ I can jump off the 1st floor without hurting myself.”
Geek replies “ Oh my are you super girl in disguise, tell me more about you in my car, am all ears.”
“Utterly Buttering” lie
this is used mainly on Bosses (works for all kinds of bosses with equal effective rate be it home or office)
“Sir / Madam you have an amazing personality.”
I am amazed they still keep you here instead of museum
“ Topi Pehenao” lie (Pull a hat lie)
all marketing professionals (barring me !!) use this.. another lie
“ My product is the best” (only under test conditions !!!)
Well one is the hot favs with most politicians
“I mean the opposite” lie
Juliet to Romeo
“ Please dont follow me.”
Please follow me and proclaim to me and the entire world how much you love me
Very dangerous one. Cause for many unpleasant experiences.
“Shine maro”lie also known as “Dilli wala” lie
Girl to her friend
“ These Gucci glasses are from the limited edition.”
Sure buddy, Gucci of chandnichowk aint got them many
“JLT” lie (Lie Just Like that)
this one is used by Obsessive Compulsive Liar who does n't need a reason to lie
“Bully” lie
mother to child “ Souja beta varna gabbar aa jayega”
“Child go to sleep or else the Green witch will come”
need I explain more !!
quite a list eh ?
Some people carry off lies better than facts. It must take a lot of self confidence or sheer cockiness to do it. Or may be its the years of practice that they invested in now shows excellent results. Some are so bad at it that they realize its better to shut up than lie. Some use lie to make their life bearable and some use it to add drama to their lives and yet others to cut the drama out.
But then what is life without a little bit of lie.. boring !! so add the spice of lie with moderation like tadka in bland dal.
