Summer of 2013- family reunion
The reunion was fun as always. This year was special to me since it was my 10 year anniversary of my implant while at the reunion. My mom had a shirt made up

At point I had a bunch of my nieces and nephews push me on the tire swing.
Also during the summer my nephew gabe was baptised by his brother and his dad confirm him.

November 2013- 11th my 30th birthday
I only had few things planned. A girl lunch with my mom and sisters Beth and Miriam at mimi‘s cafe, while there they asked how to sign happy birthday. The rest of day was a blur. I had plan to go out to eat with my parents at pizza factory, they were going to pick me up around 5 but I got a text from my mom saying my dad was running late and just over and then we would leave when he got home. So I got in my car and headed there. I got there and my dad was talking to a cousin in the den so I headed to the kitchen area and all sudden I got ambushed by my family with surprise party/dinner. They had pasta and some other type foods. I got received a crystal blue kitchen aid and it been great. I even bought some cookbooks( the pioneer woman and few others)

January 2014
I started the new year with get a tennis ball size tumor from my right shoulder. It was an out patient, this surgery there was no pain just stiffness I loved the doctor who did it and even the staff that work with me before and after surgery

Now it just look somewhat like a burn. Since then I having been working plenty. I have been going to family ward since November and it been going good.

I have been thinking somewhat doing book review and recipes review and and few other things as well with some self posts and tips of my life

My Right Hand and 9th implant anniversary

I had 2 tumors in my right hand that been bugging me for a while.  I told my parents and dad said to wait and watch them. I started to talking to my mom one day and she said it would be my choice about seeing a doctor and so on. I told my dad since I was the one who living with it it was my choice and had mom make an appointment.

When the day came for the appointment, we saw the PA and to see what going on. The doctor ordered an MRI.  I have to say the MRI was really not comfortable. I was superman style in the machine. The tumor hand was stuck so I couldn’t move. Lucky my dad found out the result the same day so we thought it would be a good easy surgery like the my one I had on my left ankle. We scheduled the Surgery for May 24th. I had a week long break from school starting the following day.

Surgery Day: I stayed the night before at my parents house. Me and my mom went and checked in and got what labs I needed done. I changed into the lovely hospital gown.  The surgery was about an hour maybe less. The staff was so amazing. It was the first time I dealt with an amazing staff.

I woke up with a bandage on my wrist. 

Man I hated the bandage so much. I dealt with it for a week and man it was miserable. I had to have my mom wash my hair and so on. The doctor said I had to stay at my parents house for 12 hours and then I would be able to go back to my place. once the time was up I wanted to go right away. mom being worrier so I chilled out for a bit. I wanted to target for a  bit before going home. mom was worried about me being safe and had me text her if I needed her. I talked to a few people and I think I got a few things. I got back to their place but no mom but dad was there. I told him I wanted to go home so he helped me get my stuff and put in the car and then off I went. I slept pretty good in my own bed. I chill out the next few days. On sunday I went to sacrement meeting then went to my parents house.

Post op appointment was June 4th. I was totally ready to get the stiches out and the bandage was stinky. We got in the exam room and the nurse cut off the bandage and took out the  stiches.

I called it my Zombie hand. The doctor to not cover it so I wore a light weight glove when I worked.  things were good. I have normal hand function I have numb spots but that not really bad to deal with.

My 9th implant anniversary July 24.

I had no school or work. So me and my mom went to breakfast at Mimi’s café which was really good. We both took out leftovers home. Made a good lunch.  I chilled out most of the day. That evening I met up with some people from my ward at Yogurtland and was visiting and having a good time. I went home and study for test that I needed to do that week and showered and watched some tv before bed.  These past 9 years been so good even if there been a few bumps along  the way. I am so blessed to have amazing support system.

The Implant tune dates March 7 and 8

March 7- I had class in the morning and then my mom picked me up for our flight around noon. She had some subways for us to eat.  We got in LA around 3ish and had time to chill. My mom wanted to go to the hospital caferia to see if they had salad or something. She got a salad I got a parfait  we headed back to our room in the Seton Hall and got my laptop and when to the community family room and to check email. They have Wi-Fi in the room. I wish it was more then that room. My mom was able to check her email on their computers while I was on my laptop and did my usual dealio. mom wanted to get on fb since it was blocked on their computer so she used my laptop and was able to look at a few things as well. We went back to the room I was going pop in Breaking dawn part 1 in my laptop but it wouldn’t load so we just watched tv and I showered and then we went to sleep.

March 8- We woke up and went and got breakfast at the hospital caferia and then paid for the room so we could check off something we had to do that day. We went back to the room and finished packing our suitcase and left the keys and then walked to HRI(house of research institute) former known as HEI(House of Ear institute) so we could make our appointment with Steve Otto and Dr. Brackmann. We saw Steve at 9 and had a tune up for an hour and half and then we went back to the waiting room thinking we would have a long wait since usual Dr. B. is usual behind, To our surprise we were called after sitting about 10 maybe 15 minutes waiting seeing the doctor shortly after that. We had time to get some lunch at the hospital caferia before we go picked up for flight. Our flight we flew to Vegas and the to Salt lake. We had about an hour or so before our first flight took off. We got prebroading since I am deaf so it was fabulous to since my mom had to sit in the aisle seat so she could stretch her leg.  We landed in Vegas and found the board that had the flights were and found out gate number, we hit the bathroom and we found out our gate was in another terminal ugh. Serious Vegas what was the deal with the different terminals since we had a short time between flights. My mom wanted to get salad but that never happen. We barely made our flight tired from the long walk. I didn’t want a drink but my mom got tomato juice yuck. I told her that was her liquid salad heehee. We landed and headed to where we parked the car and mom dropped me off at home and then she went home.

I was a good trip really fast. the weather was good. I really hate the Vegas airport now that we had to deal with the different terminals. We were only in LA less then 24 hours.   But back to reality of work and school. Target remodeling them store so a big mess and tends to be hot and stuffy. my hours still suck, school going slow but doing good.

Last of 2011

I am alive just been super busy and sorta slacking blogging.

November- Brought my 28th birthday. I didn’t really have something planned. I when to school in the morning and chat with some of nf2 friends at 2 and then went to visit my nephews Chirstian and Evan and my sister beth.  There was a point where  I was ready to leave so I could go to dinner with my parents. The boys would say 10 more minutes. (while I was there beth was making a wacky cake and was on the phone and she would tell it was for a neighbor or something like that but really they were keeping a secret). I went over to my parents and we headed to Pizza Factory for dinner. Once we got there, we were taken back to our table and to my surprise my sisters miram and beth and their family were there. it didn’t really register as surprise but I was happy to see them. We went back to my parents to desert and to visit. my sister beth gave me a earring that are so cute.  I said good bye and went home since I was tried from the long day. I did get a new laptop for my birthday but got back in October so I could take with me to OG.

Black friday weekend, I worked the whole weekend long. The actual friday it was really busy and chaos. I dealt with a few  ugh customers. I was relieved to have weekend done with and to have 5 days off afterwards.

December-Chirstmas this year I slept over on christmas eve so I could go to my parents church in the morning. We woke up and got ready for church and then off we went. My sister brenda and her family were staying at my parents as well. We got back from church and some of us changed clothes and then we open some presents before the rest of the family show up for brunch. The tobler nephews got nerf guns.  There was a little incident were one of them shot me close range in the eye and I tried to tell him that hurt and teach how to do safely,both the parents didn’t want to hear it or deal with it.  so I mostly kept to myself and avoided  the nerf gunners. I got the movie Soul surfer and 2 books and an ipod touch. I love all the presents. it was a nice day. I went home in the afternoon and chilled out.

New Years Eve. I stayed in and watched some movies. I was laying in bed when it turned  midnight.

Ohio Gathering October 2011

Heya guys. I just got back from the Ohio Gathering aka OG for the NF2ers. It was the 6-9 in Grover city Ohio.

Thursday Oct. 6.- Travel day to Ohio

I woke up at 4 and was picked up a little before 5 by my mom. My flight left at 7 and got to Denver at 8:35 and had about 3 hour 15 min. layover since my flight to Ohio didn’t leave till 12:15. I mostly people watched and text some and walked around. The flight to Ohio felt long but not that bad either. I was suppose to me another nf2er named Tom Nolan who was going to pick me and another nf2er Jodi Berlin and his wife Lori. Ended up being a little late because of a bad accident that happen near the hotel that he came across when he was taking another nf2er to the hotel. While we waited for Jodi and Lori we got a table a restraunt named Max and Enma’s. It looked really good too but I wasn’t hungry and I was dealing with a nervous stomach and so on. We got to the Hotel and Checked in and said out goodnight.

Friday Oct. 7- nfers start to arrive

In the morning I met up with Jodi down in the breakfast room and was talking and so on. We saw Phyllis Lee who is one of the main host of OG. we were able to talk a little her husband Steve came over and we saw his cool OG tattoo. I went back to my room and chilled and tried to overcome the nervousness. We were suppose to meet in the cafferia room to get pizza and so on and help set up the conference. I didn’t eat any pizza I ended up going up and try and nap and so since I was really tried and not really feeling well. (Side note: I did tell Jodi about my nervous tummy and how I was feeling and to keep it between us. Jodi is amazing lady who I call my nf2 momma.) I came down to the conference room around 4:30 and was hanging out greet others who have arrived. one of the time I went out to walk around. I came across a mostly sweetest lady who I can totally feel right a home with since is one of the PABI receivers who I haven’t met before. Her name was Karen Lichtefeld also is PABI # 9.

I loved talking to Karen and related our experience getting out PABI and talking about all the amazing doctors and others who have helped in many ways with the PABI.

At 7 they did a food eating contest. It was a team of 2, one was the feeder and other was the eater. it was quite entertaining to watch. the winners were KC and Geo. Those 2 are quite a couple. I hung out a little and then headed up to my room to sleep. Gotta love Jet lag.

Saturday Oct. 8th

They had a few activities in the morning but missed them since I wasn’t feeling the greatest. I was able to eat some of the baby carrots that I had brought in my backpack. I went down to the conference room since I had to help with the treat table for the movie. me and Jodi just visited while we did out duty. Jimmy’s Nurse Doug had a good idea and get a swimsuit for jimmy and put him in the hot tub with some of his nf2 girlfriends. I rolled up my jeans and put my feet in so I could enjoy the water too.

I did a little cover up touch on Jodi to keep her modest and not how she looked behind the red cover up I drew on her. I wanted to post this picture and show Jimmy and all the Gals. Mike is holding Jimmy back so he doesn’t go backwards.

We we met for the Saturday night dinner. I sat at the table the the Lees, Mary, KC, Geo, Doug, Jimmy and Jodi. During the dinner Mary wrote a note to Jimmy saying that he was a sexy beast and from a secret admire and had Geo give to him. At one point Doug told him that it was from him and Jimmy elbowed him. it was so funny. They had a lasagna for dinner. I was able to get a couple bites in but it wasn’t really agreeing with me later that night. After we had a dress up jimmy contest were who brought stuff to put on Jimmy could here are some of what was put on him

Sunday Oct. 9- Last day and travel home.

In the morning I was able to visit some and get some pictures.

My Nephews Christian and Evan

The other day i when and visit my sister Beth and her boys Christian and Evan. These boys always hold a special place in my heart like all the nieces and nephews.  Me and the boys started playing around rough housing and all. I was having a blast being on the ground getting my nephews. at one point i was laying on my back and christian on me so evan went around to my right side of my head and grabs my implant, he did this twice till we told it wasn’t a toy and very expensive. We just played for a good hour and half which made my day. I am sure did a good job tiring out the boys.  Of course my back felt the rough housing hours later.

A little update of me. Ohio Gathering coming up in Octcber and way excited too. There will be many nf2ers that i want to meet .  School going good but slow, should be done next December or atleast what the school says.

8th Implsnt Anniversary

 

Hello everyone- sorry i have been a slacker blogger. My life has been School and work and somewhat time for family and relaxing.

Today 8 years ago i went into a 15 hours surgery to get my PABI implanted. All went well. There has been some up and downs. but i don’t regret any of it.  To celebrate this year anniversary. I went and bought a dress from downeast basic and got a few other items from target.

  

For weekend holiday here in utah it called Pioneer Day which is the July 24th.  it to celebrate the arrive of the  mormon pioneers that came to settle. Well yesturday, i had to work 4 hour and then went to a BBQ at my sister beth house and then we did some fireworks.  It was fun to hangout with my nephews christian and evan and my sister miriam and her girl hayley and whitney and my baby brother dave and his wife lara and my parents..

Things with school been going well. I am hoping to be done by the end of the year. work is good just sorta lack of hours and all.  i plan to attend the Ohio Gathering again this year but going solo since my parents are heading to a weeklong getaway.   My family reruion is coming up in 2 weeks. i can’t wait to enjoy my family. There will be a brother-in-law(Sam) missing since he is deployed back east for 6 months. i plan to get some video and pictures of what happens.
