Blake and I are finally back together after a 15 month deployment to Afghanistan. Blake left June 9, 2006 for Camp Shelby, Miss. There he did training for a few months and then flew over the big pond to Afghanistan. For those who know the Big Wyo, you will be interested to know that Afghanistan looks very similar to Wyoming, except with moutains that would dwarf our Wasatch Mtns. It is almost exactly on the other side of the earth from Utah. I will let him tell a little bit more about what he did there later, but I want to focus on the best part... His Homecoming!! Blake returned home to the wonderful state of Utah on Aug. 23, 2007. It was so great!
Since then we have been super busy and are looking forward to things slowing down. After enjoying visiting with family in our beautiful new backyard, then heading to the lake in Wyoming, then over to Jackson Hole for a weekend of rafting, Blake has now gone back to work at Bingham Engineering and I at home working with Storesonline creating logo's and websites for small businesses. I should actually be working, but instead I am creating this blog! All in all we are doing well. It seems like we are startng over in a way. We are getting used to living together and it has been a little like the first year of marrage. I am definitly ready to skip forward to our third year, soon to be forth.
We are so greatful to our friends and family that have supported us during Blake's deployment. I can definitly testify to what service truly is.
