Found - Spring Cleaning Inspiration

I've finally picked up my first bottles of Method cleaners from Target!

Being pregnant has been the perfect excuse not to clean. But it's getting gross... SO - I decided to try the less toxic route and TA DA!!! New cleaners that actually work and smell wonderful!

I have no idea why I've been using such harsh chemicals to get things clean. I was sure that I'd have to at least use a scrubby sponge on my tub - but no.. the filth just wiped away with a rag. The cleaners aren't that much more expensive than normal cleaners and they didn't leave any streaks or residue. I was so excited about how clean my bathroom was that I actually cleaned my second one as well! The glass cleaning cloth works perfectly - now I don't need to buy paper towels.

I also picked up my first Seventh Generation product. I'm feeling so earth friendly today...

Weekend update

The weather is warm and we're busy! Tomorrow promises 80 degrees followed by snow on Wednesday - again! I'm sensing a pattern.

We had a chance to spend some time with Amy and Avalon before they moved last week. This ended up being my favorite picture of the kids at the Bean Museum.

On Friday the boys got to go to work with Greg for Take Your Son To Work Day. This year they had someone there doing lots of cool science experiments. The boys have an incredibly warped sense of what Greg does day to day. Last year they had a juggler. To them work is all fun, entertainment, and eating breakfast. They've been trick or treating there as well and are still convinced that Shrek has his own office just down the hall from Greg.

While they were bringin' home the bacon, I attended Katie and Scott's graduation with my Grandparents and little brother, Steve. Congrats guys!

Saturday Greg got to go do a little shooting. Charlie and Jack kept busy scuba diving and inventing things like this sweet bug catcher.

Another pretend shopping spree...

If I could wedge 3 car seats in the back seat I'd pick up this baby today. Alas, that would be impossible. But I'm loving that Compressed Natural Gas is only 63 cents/gallon in Utah and there's a station right by my house. And the $7,000 tax credit would be nice next year too. Oh yes - and it's really great for the environment - nearly zero emissions.

In honor of Earth Day...

... I've finally said, "No, more junk mail, please, you big tree killing, JERKS!"

I've opted out of unsolicited credit card offers by visiting this website.

I've also in the process of turning off the rest of my junk mail by signing up here.

An appropriate depiction...

It's a snowman? An elf?

NO! IT'S A BABY! Not the best first ultrasound picture I've gotten, but who really knows what they're looking at anyway.
I'm about 10 1/2 weeks along so he/she will be born in November. My official due date is the 13th but I'm having a c-section so I get to finagle it a bit earlier. Charlie and Jack really want a baby sister but I'm just planning on a boy because that's what we do so well. A girl would be a lovely surprise though.

The heart rate was 180. The gender prediction theory says that for being that fast it's a girl. BUT the Chinese gender calendar says I'm having a boy. I don't remember if either of those things were right with Charlie and Jack. We'll just wait until the next ultrasound!

New bikes!

Bikes for the boys - it's going to be a fun summer!

Charlie loves his new helmet so much he wore it all day yesterday - even while watching TV.. he tells EVERYONE about his new bike.

Jack thinks his chin strap has to be worn like a football helmet and just as soon as he stops reversing to breaks after every 3 or 4 peddles we'll really be cruisin'!

The Gooey Man

Jack had decided that the "Bogey man" should be called the "Gooey man" instead. Today, he made a gooey man mask.

Just chillin'

I took these photos of Jack yesterday while I was washing out the inside of the car (Winter grime be gone!). He was just relaxing listening to music (Juno Soundtrack - he likes the folk-y songs), hanging out with his mom.

Spring hike!

Sunday was beautiful. We took a great walk to Bridal Veil Falls. I'll never get over how much fun the boys have throwing rocks and sticks into the river.

A Jack Mess

An impressive pile. I thought he got past this when he was 1.

Camping Commences...

Greg was just called as the Young Men's president! We've got a great group so he's going to have a lot of fun. He took Charlie on their first camp out to the Sand Dunes. It looks like they had a lot of fun! Charlie brought home a marshmallow gun that the scouts had made him.

Speaking of kids...

So - General Conference was this past weekend. Saturday evening when we asked the boys what things they'd heard and learned that day Jack burst out, "CHOOSE THE PUPPY!"

I so missed that talk.

On a more irreverent note...

Walking into the store the other day the boys were watching the birds in the parking lot when Charlie yelled, "Look! That bird just flew into that 'A' hole". Umm... yeah... embarrassing...

Catch up in photos

Alan and Stephanie are getting married May 17th! Here are a couple of their engagement photos we took.

St. Patrick's day there was a big party at Charlie's preschool. But - for me - St. Patrick's day meant sushi with friends. Sushi....

I blame my lack of blogging completely on Jack. He's a mess maker. Charlie wasn't... and I'm still adjusting to this time consuming mischievousness. His recent messes have included soap lather all over the TV, glass cabinet doors, carpet, and one sofa cushion; adding contrast lines to the kitchen window molding with a black pen; shattering a 2 cup glass measuring cup of meat marinade all over the fridge, kitchen floor, blinds - the thing exploded 15 feet.

Steve is going to Germany for his mission and reports to the MTC May 28th! Charlie totally called it. Moments before opening his call I gave Charlie the options of Canada, Australia, and Germany. He said, "YEAH! He's going to Germany!"

Easter - egg decorating complete with a melt down.

Jack was too sick for church (may have been the massive amount of candy he consumed from 2 Easter egg hunts).

Here's a photo that describes how last month made me feel:

Extra coupons anyone?

I've decided to buy more curtains! Look at me go!

Does anyone have any extra 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond coupons you wouldn't mind giving to me? I just discovered that they're going like hot cakes on eBay! I never knew! I don't think I actually want to buy a coupon.. but if you happen to have on you're not using just let me know!

Time for an upgrade...

Today I bought curtains!

After 2 years of the street light peeking through my blinds at night, it has finally started to really bug me. So I picked out a curtain that will block 99.9% of the light, save energy, reduce noise, and look lovely while doing it.

This pewter rod should work with my windows (one being about an inch from the closet molding).

And here is the bedding that's next on my wish list (it looks a little more blue to me in natural light).

P.S. Since I've posted this - wouldn't you know. I've found a different curtain. But it's still dark brown! I'll post about it one of these days (when curtains seem interesting again).
