Wedding pictures!

On Friday evening we had dinner with all of our family and all of Scott's family at the Olive Garden. Bread sticks anyone?

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I normally do. Scott's dad is a photographer and he took tons that I'll just get from him later.

Katie and Scott were married in the American Fork Timpanogos Temple at 1pm on Saturday. They looked great! After taking pictures, they had a dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in SLC.

The flowers turned out great. I'm actually holding all of the little bridesmaid's bouquets together in this picture.

By the end of the day the boys got a little restless.

Alison, Jeremy, and I had this picture taken after he (FINALLY) finished taking is good sweet time eating.

We had so many good friends there who we knew growing up in Ohio and have since moved to Utah. The Taufers, Walshes, and Littles were all there. It was awesome...

BIG WEEKEND!

Katie and Scott are getting married on Saturday!
My parents and Grandma Hugues got into town yesterday afternoon ~ I love weddings!
This morning they're all coming over along with Katie's future mother-in-law and Scott's sisters to do the flowers for the wedding. I'll try to blog... but you know how it goes.. I may not be back until next week!

a Charlie funny...

Charlie was pretending to do magic tricks earlier this evening. And each time he'd make something disappear, he'd say in a magical whispery voice, "Magic MISS-appear!" (like as in make the object go missing...)

a Jack funny...

During dinner Jack kept referring to his broccoli as "broc-a-tree".

Random pictures

(left) This is Charlie, who everyday asks "How old do I have to be to ride a motorcycle?" (Also notice the nice tape job on his steering wheel... Dollar Store tape can go a LONG way with a 3 year old.)

(right) This is Jack who just minutes before told me, "I don't want to take a nap! I want to play with Charlie." My question - why the door mat? I know our couch is uncomfortable, but really??? The rug on the tile floor is better?

(left) Jack, who just declared that he made his first BOAT! out of play dough. He's finally learning not to eat it. He still eats a little.. and tries to put it in his ears. But he's come a long way.

(right) A super nerdy picture of me and my latest haircut.

Weighing in

Charlie weighs 33 pounds.
Jack weighs 28 pounds.
Only a 5 pound difference.. kinda funny.

Promise of a PRODUCTIVE day...

I popped out of bed this morning at 6:59am... I totally felt like I'd overslept. Although I had heard Jack calling out for a treat and "where'd my lovey go?", he'd fallen back to sleep. I ran down to the computer and started working--- it only took 29 minutes. It's 7:45 and the kids are still sleeping! I'm going to make Greg a lunch and sandwiches for me and the boys while I have the stuff out.

I think it's going to be one of those very productive days...
I'll keep you posted about all the very productive things I do today. It'll be interesting to see where the day goes from here.

7:00am
-Worked

7:30am
-Woke up Greg, checked e-mail.

7:45am
-Made lunches and scrambled eggs for breakfast (and blogged)

8:00am
-Charlie woke up, sent Greg off to work.
-Jack woke up. Got the boys dressed, fed them breakfast, and they started playing.
-Cleaned up the dishes from yesterday, loaded and started the dishwasher, swept the kitchen floor.

9:00am
-Showered, got dressed, did hair & makeup
-Cleaned the bathroom
-Stripped the beds, sorted the laundry and got it started (7 loads today-- sheesh!)
-Started cleaning out dresser that's going to be painted (it's been making a good hiding place for piles I've stashed).
-Took the drawers in the backyard. Borrowed the neighbor's dolly to move the beastly, heavy dresser. Filled some of the drawer handle holes because it's apparently impossible to find handles the length of 3 3/4 inches. And while I was at it, filled some holes by my front door which I'd like to repaint when the weather is a little cooler.
-Changed the laundry loads.

11am
-Cleaned out Charlie's old dresser (which is going to become Jack's new dresser/changing table).
-Ate lunch (and worked while we ate - only had another 1/2 hour of work).
-Unloaded the dishwasher, switched laundry loads and started folding.
-Put away folded laundry in my room from last week.

1:30pm
-Put Jack down for his nap.
-Started sanding the dresser and realized it's just going to have to be primed.
-More laundry-- yipee!
-Took a little reading break. *Sigh*

After my little break, I decided, to clean the bathroom downstairs, dust, sweep, mop all the tile, vacuum and then call Greg and tell him we were going out to dinner.

When we got home from dinner we wondered into the backyard and somehow got locked out. All of my brothers who can pick locks were unavailable... and trying everything else we could think of short of breaking the window or door jam, we called a locksmith. It took him less time than using a key to open our front door-- oh, that's very reassuring. It cost $45. OUCH! Greg needs to change professions. For a few minutes of driving and one minute of work-- nice. The locksmith tried to reassure us that there's no guarantee that it wouldn't have taken him longer-- right, right.

We watched Last Comic standing.. I hate to see funny people not get picked. Greg would switch to American Inventor during commercials but that show is TRAGIC - I hate it! People spend THOUSANDS of dollars to come up with that? So sad!

So that was my very productive day. What am I doing tomorrow? Well, maybe I'll go buy some primer, but probably not a whole lot of anything else.

10:30 PM

I'm running to bed because it's been WEEKS!... Maybe MONTHS since I've been to bed this early... just thought I'd spend a couple of minutes letting you all know though.. just in case you wondered!

SHOES - mission accomplished.

Here is the dress that all of Katie's bridesmaids are wearing for her wedding:

I found several choices of shoes to go with it, however, I happened upon these at Target today. I was totally prepared to spend $$$ for some cute shoes.. but at $6.24-- who could resist??? That's $3.12 per shoe - they're practically disposable!

I also stopped in at Old Navy.
I got 2 of these tank dresses for $.97 each--- great swimsuit cover ups...

I bought a new bag and a straw hat. I feel like going on a cruise.

I know I'm crazy but......

I know I'm crazy but I'm just itching to clean stuff up and de-junk around here. I know it's not that bad, but I've been finding myself lately opening cupboards and drawers that make me want to scream. There's just a little too much stuff everywhere... especially as far as the boys toys go. They have some that I know they would play with more if they were a little more accessible.

So, we'll see what I do this week.

I might pick up one of my favorite clutter books at the library this week for inspiration.

It's called Clutter's Last Stand by Don Aslett. It's great. It always helps me start to notice what things are really cluttering my life.

I'm also going to go back to a website my friend, Genny, introduced me years ago. FlyLady is all about helping you take baby steps towards getting your home to be the way you want it to be.
But I only have this week to putter around. Next week is Katie's wedding week - I'm so excited! I just need to buy shoes for my dress and I'm all set. And I love buying shoes! Maybe I need 2 or 3 pairs to switch them throughout the day. I just want to make sure all my bases are covered.

Girls' Camp--- Pa-chaaaaaaw!

Girl's camp was so fun! Nothing like hanging out with a bunch of cute, fun girls. We were at a beautiful campsite with amazing cabins. We hiked, canoed, ATE, and talked tons. It was really, really, really fun... really!!!

Moon Lake

The first thing that Jack did when we arrived at our cabin was to grab two handfuls of dirt and rub it all over his face. Seems logical enough to me. He just wanted to remind me that we were camping and he was in no way he was going to stay clean during our trip.

We weren't there for more than 5 minutes before Charlie said, "I see a deer!" Greg and I were both like, oh, that's nice.. but then we looked and sure enough, there was a dear resting near a close by cabin. It let us walk up really close to have see it. We saw deer everywhere the rest of the weekend

Jack loved the chipmunks running around everywhere. He immediately started calling them "chicky monkeys"... he totally came up with that one on his own. Here's a little video clip of him saying it. It was so cute.

We went up with Dave and Nicole and all of their kids. Charlie had a great time playing with all of his cousins. They spent hours playing in the sand box (generally meant for tents), played lacrosse, hiked, tried catching chipmunks, and of course lots of fishing.

The fishing was the best ever. We've always loved it because it's so easy to catch the feisty little brookies. This year we just plunked power bait. We had a fish on nearly every cast. And they were all great sized trout. Jack was fascinated with watching them when we got them in the boat. Charlie became quite the little fisherman. Just in our boat we caught 40 fish on Friday and Saturday. Dave always had several more poles in the water.. he could have easily doubled that.

I always forget the BEFORE picture

(Oh look.. I actually found a before picture)

I decided that today was the day (this was written on June 16th) I was going to redo my coffee table. So I dragged it into the back yard and took the sander to it. And when I was almost done with the top, I realized that I DIDN'T TAKE A BEFORE PICTURE! I always forget the before picture. Oh well. I hope it works. I have more sanding to do but it will have to wait until Monday. Then I need to clean it up before I WAX it. I hope it works. If it doesn't.. oh well, my living room is so much more spacious without a coffee table!

This is the table after sanding:

And here is the final product--- love it!

Independence Day!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July. The 4th of July has been one of my favorites since I was little. Parades, BBQs, fireworks... love them all. (Will post more pictures tomorrow... quite possibly)

I miss you, Bloggy.

I've been SO BUSY.
Such an understatement. I can't believe I'm still alive!
I actually, for the first time every, have filled up the memory card of my digital camera. And it's been full.. for 2 days. I haven't even had time to upload my pictures to my computer.
I've got great pictures to post though.. one day.

Happy 30TH birthday, GREG!

Happy Birthday, Doc!
