Thrifty over here too!!!

Have you seen all the sales out there??? And I'm too busy to SHOP!
I ran into Gap.. HUGE table of jeans on sale.. grabbed 3 different colors & cuts in my size to bring home to try on.. AND THEY ALL FIT and look AWESOME! How much were they? $14.99 EACH! Huge score!

Too bad it's too dang hot to wear jeans. I can't wait for autumn!

I also went to Ikea this evening with my mom, Katie, and my Grandma... SO FUN!!! Again.. I found myself running through as fast as I could. There's never enough time to see everything! Next time I'm going at 10AM and starting at the cash registers and working my way back to the beginning!!!

Charlie and Jack's studio portraits.

I'd forgotten that these were online! I get to go pick up our order on Wednesday. It was a lot of work, but the boys did a great job. (We had them posing with a bat and a ball but every time she was about to take the picture, Jack threw the ball at the photographer and laughed.. he's a total stinker. She didn't end up actually taking any of those).

Charlie's reaction to Greg & Jared's CRASH!

At the time the Greg & Jared Crash video was filmed, Charlie just watched with shock on his face. It happened so fast. But after being able to watch it again.. he found it... well, rather funny.

Jared's SECOND crash this week!!!

At least this crash was only at 5 MPH. The first one was pretty bad. He posted pictures here.

Jared was just passing through town yesterday. But we all met for some Buffalo Chicken salad and hung out at the Health and Safety fair that was going on at Greg's work.

Are you ready to clean up your life?

This is a self assessment test for life that my mom e-mailed to me. It's good for thought. I scored 73/100. Are you ready to clean up your life?

Back blogging.. again!

Friday, June 8th:

Every year our town celebrates Art City Days. They have several activities during the week. Our favorite is the Children's Art Festival that takes place on the big lawns of the Art Museum. They have 15 - 20 different stations where you take your kids around to do different art projects. And it's all free. They have so many great ideas. Charlie has been inspired and has been doing new art projects since.

There's also a carnival. Last year when we took Charlie spent the entire time just watching the rides. He freaked out if we even suggested that he could ride them. He just wanted to stand and watch.

This year he knew that there was a little train. He really wanted to ride the train. I think he was okay with the train idea because we just went on a real train ride a few weeks ago. However, he didn't realize that he would be going on the kids train alone (They told us Jack was too little). He started to freak out. They were nice enough to let Greg come on with him but while he was waiting in line to get through, Charlie had a total panic attack and tried climbing out over the fence, screaming "NO! I DON'T WANT TO GO ALONE!" He made Greg squish on the seat next to him and then was able to enjoy the ride.

Charlie also enjoyed the super slide with Greg. But he would only watch the other rides with the cars and the flying saucers and dragons. There was nothing that could convince him to go on any of those.

Every time Jack saw kids get off of rides he yelled, "My turn! My turn!" We walked around the adult rides for awhile and Jack kept begging to go on the biggest, scariest ride that they had. He kept getting down and running to jump in line. He was convinced that was the ride for him. It looked like a lot of fun. We watched it for awhile.

Before we left we all had some Italian ice and a ride on the carousel. Jack had fun, but charlie refused to sit on the horses while they were moving. He picked the bench. He let us take a picture of him sitting on the horse after the ride. Don't be fooled. He was whining and complaining about being on it until we said, "Pretend you love it for the picture." He's a good actor.

We also ran into some friends from one of our very first married wards. We had lost touch with them after they moved up to Salt Lake, but apparently they moved to our town about the same time we did last year! They have two little boys exactly Charlie and Jack's ages. They only live a couple of blocks away from us!

SATURDAY, June 9th:

We woke up and went to the hot air balloon launch. Charlie was worried that they were going to come down and 'smash us' but was able after awhile was able to enjoy them. We didn't get there early enough to get in line.. but they do free tethered rides that take up up about 50 feet. Next year for sure.

Then, we headed over to Ted's for some prime parade seats. Greg was 'working' but was able to watch most of it with us. We love a good parade. The kids love the tons of candy they got. Jack pick up on the idea of parades really quickly.

My garden-- FINALLY!!!

HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN TALKING ABOUT PLANTING A GARDEN???

I finally did it last Friday (while Greg was out of town-- that's when I do all my BIG projects). The boys and I hopped in the car Friday evening to go pick out some flowers. I had no idea what I was doing. And decided to start with an 'inspiration flower' and build from there. I also decided to do some annuals and some perennials (honestly, when I started, I couldn't remember which was which.. which ones would come back next year & which I would have to re-plant.. but I think I've got it now. Annuals, you plant annually.. right?)

So, my inspiration flower were the white Osteospermum with purple centers (annual).
I also used:
purple Speedwell (perennial)
purple Pincushion Flowers (perennial)
pink & yellow English Daisy (perennial)
yellow Marigolds (annual)
purple Lobelia (annual)
pink Geraniums (annual)

Charlie insisted that we needed some orange. We got orange Marigolds, pink Geraniums, & purple Lobelia for our 3 big pots.

After I put the boys to bed, I planted my bed at 9pm. It was so fun! Then next morning I let the boys help me plant the pots.

The first 3 days the garden had to suffer 90 degree temps. I didn't think they were going to make it. Everytime I checked on them they were wilted piles of leaves and stems. But after 2 days of rain, they are looking great. I took these pictures today after I put in the rest of my leftover Marigolds and Lobelia. I think I planted too much. They are all supposed to grow anywhere between 10" to 18" in height & 8" to 18" in width. But it's my first garden. Totally experimental.

Quirk-y genetic traits.

I like to crawl into bed with Charlie when I read to him at night. But the other night I noticed that after I got up, tucked him in, & kissed him good night he sat back up to flip his pillow over. I asked him why he did that and he said, "because I like it cold". What's really funny to me is Greg is the exact same way. He HATES when someone lays on his side of the bed on top of the covers and makes it all warm.

CT Results

I picked up my results from my 3 month follow up CT Scan yesterday-- no big changes! Everything looks good! 1 yeah, 3 months of no desmoid tumor reoccurance.

fun with sizzors

Charlie was so excited to bring his 'drill' to me that he'd cut all by himself out of some paper. He took great pleasure in drilling holes into my fridge while I cooked dinner. I'm impressed with his scissor skills and how he was able to think of what a drill looks like and actually cut it out.

Greg's dive trip photos & my attempt at suppressing immense pangs of jealousy

Greg returned from his dive trip with some fantastic photos (This one on the left will be framed for sure). Now I'm jealous! It looks like he had a really great time (I'll let him post about his trip later).

He took this picture below from the back deck of Anthony's while he ate a basket of mixed treasures and a bowl of fisherman's chowder. I can almost taste it.

CanIbeFrank?

CanIbeFrank - is a user name that I came across on one of my sites while I was working last night. It's my favorite one so far. And I checked.. his name is Frank.. which makes it all that much better. It makes me want to be Frank.

I started liking the name Frank right after Greg and I got married & some of the little neighborhood kids thought that was his name. They'd come banging on the door and ask if "Frank could come out to play." It was funny, so we played along and I always called him Frank when they were around them.

I like the name, Frank, so much that I know I've said on more than one occasion that's what I want to name our next boy. Come on, it would be great.. we'd have a Charlie, Jack, and a Frank.. a whole shlue of little old men. And now because I've admitted to liking the name Frank for a boy I won't get one. I will get a girl and I will name her Tessa and she will have brown hair and brown eyes. We need more pink around here. More girl power.

Good golly my posts take odd detours after midnight.
