My pretend San Diego vacation

We had to take our Honda up to our mechanic in Salt Lake on Tuesday evening for some maintenance. While we were up there we got our favorite fish tacos at Rubio's for dinner (being taco Tuesday and all).
We try to hit Rubio's everytime we're in Salt Lake, but I think we've been to Rubio's more often in California. That's probably one of the reasons I like it so much-- it reminds me of being on vacation. The boys got a little silly towards the end of dinner (since they had a captive audience), but silly is okay with me as long as they are quiet.

After dinner, we went to IKEA! It was so fun. I was so giddy and it occurred to me that since I've only ever gone to IKEA in California, I totally felt like I was on vacation!

We only had an hour before they closed, and we had to speed walk though just to get the to the registers before they closed. But it was great, and I'm excited to have one so close.

The boys got some new wooden train track & new plates... my shopping list is so long, I'll have to go back another time.

P.S. Greg is actually scuba diving this weekend-- in San Diego. I could have gone, but the water is really cold right now. I think I'm more of a Caribbean scuba diver. Maybe I'll go on the Tonga trip next month (in my dreams).

Memorial Day: fishing & swimming

Greg, his dad, his brother Dave, and his boys hit Strawberry first thing in the morning. 3 fish were caught.. but none for Greg. Sorry, babe. The 2007 fishing tally remains at ZERO (no worries, we're going to Moon Lake in July).

Then we all headed up to Bountiful afterwards for this season's first BBQ and swimming.

the jump-oline with Dave & Mindy

We got to see Dave & Mindy while they were in town over the weekend. Their little boy, Jeffrey, is 2 1/2 & their adorable baby girl, Ella, is almost 7 months (but she was sleeping while we were playing outside-- so not pictures of her but she is SO CUTE!). We played on the "jumpoline" (as Jack calls it) for a long time. Even one of the neighbor kids joined us for the fun, "the orange guy" (as Charlie referred to him).. I think his name was Sam.

Way to entertain yourself #482

-Tie two jump ropes together.
-Tie two cars together.
-Tell your little brother to ride as hard as he can.
-Be really surprised when he actually can hold his own.
-Play car-tug-o-war until you start rubbing the paint off of the TV stand and your parents put the kibosh on all of your fun.

Is anything new posted yet?

In my own crazy way, I open up my blog everyday thinking that if it's open on my computer, I'll post something on it when I have a couple of moments. Also, due to my own craziness, I open up my blog everyday hoping that there's a funny new post to look at.. but wait.. I'm the one that posts to it.. and I know I haven't posted anything since, Sunday.

If there were 2 of me, I could get so much more done. And that's as profound as I get at 12:18am, Sister.

(Okay, I've finally gone back in and added some great pictures of the boys! ENJOY!)

Thomas The Tank Engine

Saturday was a big day for us. We decided to go see Thomas the Tank engine in Heber. We got there at about 11:30 in the morning but weren't able to get tickets to ride the train until later in the afternoon. It ended up working out perfectly and we really enjoyed our day together.

They had lots of great activities (entertainment, petting zoo, maze, imagination station, etc.) & when we got hungry we left and went to Dairy Keen (one of our favorites) for lunch. It's a train-themed restaurant. The food is SO GOOD,they have a train that drives around the ceiling of the restaurant & great train style tables for the kids.

We also stopped at a big park that was having a classic car show (one of my favorites) and a climbing wall! I'd never done one before and it was so fun! But so hard in bare feet.

Finally it was time to go back and ride the train. It was really fun. The boys loved it. Jack kept jumping between looking out the window and testing his balance in the isle. They had all of the kids help get the train started by pulling on the poll.
