TCC Feature Friday – Lillies

DSC04233

Hi Bloggers!  Thanks for stopping by to check out my Feature Friday post with The Character Cafe

Today I am using Lillies and they are SOOOO pretty!  A very easy image to color too!

DSC04233

I used BV00, BV02, BV04, YG03 and G82 on the image and the Silver Spica pen on the details of the flowers.  If you haven’t used the Spica pens yet, you really should check them out!  They add a beautiful detail to your finished project!!!

Nope, I didn’t go pull those eggs out from under a chicken to put in the picture with my card.  Those eggs aren’t real…they’re porcelain!  I just thought the Easter grass and the eggs would add a nice touch.  Now don’t start thinking I’m going to get all artsy in my photo-taking…because I’m really not sure that’ll happen!  ;o)

Here is a photo of my card opened up!  I colored two images for this card.  One is on the outside and one is on the inside.  That way when the card gets opened up, you still see the image.  I added some white gel pen doodling around the edges for the front of the card to add a little “something” to it.  Oh!  And I almost forgot that I used the Spellbinders Deckled Edge Nestibilities Die to cut out the image and the opening for the front of the card.

Hopefully you can swing by our other DT members’ blogs to see what they have for you this week!

Check back soon!  I’ve got a Copic tutorial coming up for you!!!

Copic Butterfly Card - FLICKING

DSC03343

Do you use Copic markers?  If so, you will love this technique!  It’s called “flicking” or “feathering”…and it’s so easy!!!  I learned it from Bob’s video

This was an easy card to put together!  I went with the colors in the cardstock and patterned paper for the butterfly and stained glass window.

The Character Cafe – Feature Friday - COLOR CHALLENGE

DSC04046

THANK YOU for stopping by today to check out our blog posts for The Character Cafe Feature Friday!

Before I get started on my info for today’s project, I need to give you some VERY important info from last week’s blog hop!!!  As you may recall, each DT member is giving away the digital image she worked with to one lucky person who left a comment on her blog!  I worked with Ballerina Allison, so……….

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO:

Penny said... I love your use of the image! My daughters are little ballerina's in training.. Thanks for sharing

Okay, now that I’ve made that announcement, on with today’s info!  Today is a COLOR CHALLENGE, chosen by Sara!  She chose the colors pink, blue and yellow.

Above is a sneak peek of what my card looks like.  I added Spica Glitter to the scallops on the wings and to the highlight of the heart.  Do you know how impossible it is to get good lighting when it’s gray, cloudy, rainy and gross outside?  LOL

Anywho, here is the picture of my card:

I chose to do a SQUARE card!  The measurements for the layers:

  • card base – 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
  • Striped layer – 5 1/4 x 5 1/4
  • Yellow layer – 5x5
  • Flower layer – 4 3/4 x 4 3/4
  • two strips of paper scraps for the mid-section under the image to break it up a bit

For this card, I used:

  • Image – Cupie from The Character Cafe
  • American Crafts papers
  • Nestibilities Classic Scalloped Circles Large (the largest one)
  • Spica Pens – Lemon (wings), Baby Blue (heart), Clear (eyes)
  • Copics – B32, B34, Y08, Y11, RV32, RV34, V15, V17, RV00
