For the whole day, Ptb nvr talk to us. Guess that was his Christmas gift. When I was testing the robot when i tried to turn right and felt a sharp pain on my neck. That's when i first realized that i got stiff neck. After that I went out with Alvin, Joel and KW to watch YES man. Since the show was at 9:35 we walked around sourcing for something non-fast food. On the way i bought...

Anyway, we had dinner at Shokoyu, Streets of Japan at the basement of Heeren. Had ramen, the serving was kinda small. Pic: Since we still had a huge amount of time left, Alvin suggested that we buy sake and drink, lol. Pic: It was quite ex tho, $17 for the whole bottle. After drinking, Joel got drunk and started getting damn high playing some game on his itouch.
Caught Yes Man, Funny movie, but i still think IP Man is better (Whats with all these man movies coming out at the same time???).
Christmas Eve:
Woke up at 4pm. COD4 the whole day until about 8pm? Went to park infinia for family gathering. There was a lucky draw and i kinda won the top prize... A Lamborghini Pen.

Yes, SRG again. The girls had really burnt all of their motors, as i had mentioned on Friday's post. Chantale went to the motor guy's shop and only came at 4:30pm??? With only 5 motors. Ptb was quite dulan as the rest of the motors need to be sent to korea to be repaired.
Ptb scammed me by saying that he was going to come back after his meeting and left at 1:30. Waited until 4:30 and he still not back.
Today's progress with my robot was somewhat better. Probably because the girls were not inconsiderately occupying the whole wall. They have been doing that all of the time and I am not the only one complaining. Managed to move from the floor to the wall. Just as we were about to do the transition from the wall to roof, we found that the motors did not have enough power. Decided to charge the batteries.
To my suprise, the charger detected 4 cells instead of 5 and the battery voltage was 16V instead of 20V. My instincts told me that 1 cell was dead. Consulted some of the tso who didn't really give a definate answer. Called the motor guy, who sold us the battery. He asked us to go down. Suspect the girls spoiled it as they were trickle charging the battery when the instructions behind wrote: " Do NOT trickle Charge".
JJ, BY and I went down to bugis and let him test the battery. Then he tell us 1 cell has problem and the rest of the cells are showing different charges. So send to manufacturer. He said problem could be because we are not using a balancer to charge.
After that went to the cathay to catch IP Man with WR and KY. Nice show... the punches cannot mantain. The storyline also not bad, kinda similar to Huo Yan Jia, just without the jay chou song, lol.
Long day, and another one tomorrow. ARGH my hols all burnt cus of FYP ARGH!!!

Ok, im abit lazy to update, so heres a quick one.
Thursday
Went to lab, when i reached the girls say they burnt the motors, so they went off with 17 spoilt motors. Came back with 12, just nice for their robot. JJ and I settled the purging issue. Although it was not really smooth ptb seemed to be satisfied by it =/.
Met kenneth at far east then made our way to Suntec to celeberate mel's birthday. Supposed to eat at some swiss restaurant but the price was like 20++ for all the main courses. Ended up at MOF marina. The food was not bad, but the portion was kinda small. Pics to be uploaded when someone posts on their blog then i go steal.
Friday
SRG again. Girls were like synchronising their motors for almost the whole day. JJ and I decided to climb the wall. Had some progress until the robot dropped, lol. JJ was uncoiling the wire i was holding when the robot slipped. So jj went to repair the damages while i headed home with kw and alvin. Hope no issues with the motors.
After that i got a call from joanna saying sth about wanting anthony's number because they burnt all their motors. Now if we shear any of our gears, really hong kan liao. No spare.
Almost forgot to mention. Ptb said he had lost faith in the girls group. Means now he will focus on Samuel (the other guy's group) and my robot.
Supposed to go out supper with kenneth, fong, alan and tommy but my parents wont let me leave the house. Say too late road dangerous and stuff. ARGH.
Saturday
Supposed to go swim but then i slept until err around 3:45? kenneth woke around the same time i guess so nvr swim in the end. Soon kueh for breakfast.
On the table where i was eating breakfast, mother showed me an article on todays straits times about an accident at tuas where an 18 year old was killed and was like: "SEE!!! thats y u shouldn't go out late at night". I over there LLST...
Damn, i got the urge to drive out to eat some hawker food...
Today, ptb brought a 12V 18AH lead acid cell to srg lab. Wasted, should have took video or pictures... The occurrences, however, will be described in great detail.
He was damn hao lian about the battery and confident that it could drive all 12 servo motors on the girls robot. He then started asking afew of the girls to wire up the battery and make connectors. All the while making a huge amount of noise about the tools we lack in the lab. Well, our lab has never been well equipped and will probably never be.
An example would be when i request for a laptop charger and it took like 2 months for the tso to send the order. Anyway i finally got it today.
Next ptb went to connect the battery and a bare connector to see if the connectors fit. Seeing that they fit,he attempted to remove the connectors by the wire. Instead of the connectors coming out, the connector's pins came out and touched each other. There was a great spark which made ptb let go of the wires. In an instant, the wire heated up until the insulation melted and the bare copper wire was seen glowing. It was a good thing that the current melted the wire at a certain point disconnecting the 2 ends from each other. The wire was still glowing for quite a while and smoke was everywhere. The lab was also filled with the smell of hydrochloric acid.

After that ptb diam diam and give those LL face and disconnect the other half of the burnt wires. Then he instructed for new connectors to be made... That is when we went to have our lunch. When we came back, the girls were running their robot by the 12V lead acid cell. However, it still could not run.
On friday i had tried to tell him that the motors needed a higher voltage to have a higher torque but he insisted that Power=Current x Voltage and that using a low voltage high current supply would work the same as high voltage low current supply. However the datasheet of the motor had indicated that the torque of the motor increases with respect to the voltage.
Soon after, he said that he would be going off to buy 4 more 6V lead acid cells and bring them tomorrow... Seriously someone should tell him: "Kiang tio ho, mai kei kiang"
Anyway sat car home today, thanks to kai yuan who drove me home in his fathers rented Grandis. =)
Yesterday, went to swim with kenneth at tanjong rhu swimming complex. Before that he brought me to his regular optician to check if i have astigmatism. Apperently I only have it for one eye, and its like 50. Means i can get contact lens at a low cost =)
Today, supposed to play soccer, but it rained. So went out with ky and wr to shop for clothes. Total damage was $167.90.

Anyway, yesterday's paper went pretty well i guess, 62 for MCQ and probably 18 marks for section B which means an 80! Really hope its 80, which means an A =)
However the paper itself was quite a screwup, it was totally online. The English of the paper was HELL. Spelling mistakes everywhere, grammatical errors. The worst part was in section B, we were required to type our answer out in a text box somewhat like blogger but with less features, such as being unable to press the enter key. There were 2 calculation questions and we needed to press the spacebar all the way until the text reached the next line. spent a total of 40 mins doing 4 questions which i could complete in 5 mins if it was written. As if that was not enough, a WRONG formula was GIVEN and after our invigilators called the setter of the paper asking for instructions, the instruction was something like use whatever formula you want -.- and also the other classes were not informed, lol.
CAP yesterday was not so productive, probably because i did not complete the notes for tomorrows paper, so it was more of making notes than memorising. Had $3.50++ congee at imperial treasure restaurant which ended up at approximately $4.60 each and unused towels which the staff gladly cleared without telling us it was charged =/
Then went to gloria jeans to mug. Had voltage with student discount.

Went to school for nothing... Biggest Accomplishment, eating mac there. Chaganti started late and ended early. He basically wayang that he know how to use the FMS and fiddled here and there and gave up in the end. Then for the ten thousandth time he showed us the mst format and told us good luck. Well, i hope the good luck stacks everytime he tells us.

Firstly, the exterior looks fugly. Secondly, the person who bought it obviously had a fetish for brown. The exterior of the car is this color, brown. The interior is this color, Brown. The seats are brown, the dashboard is brown. The indicator lights are brown, the LCD backlight of the digital odometer is brown, the back light of the LCD that indicates the aircon is brown. The steering is brown.
Besides being so brownish, it is also horrid to drive. When you move off, it lacks power until you decide to step the accelerator abit harder and it decides to go into turbo mode. Then there is the electronic brake assist. You decide to brake, it decides to let you have control of the brakes. Then you feel that you are too fast and want to brake a bit harder, the electronic brake assist comes in and floors the brake for you.
The suspension is made out of bricks, it allows you to feel every bit of gravel on the road and jolting you up and down to inform you that you are going too fast. The only good point i can find about this car is that it is quite silent, like playing some car game, without any speakers.
So you are driving in an empty road and decide to floor the accelerator. WOW you hear the engine rev up yet you are still going at the same speed. Two seconds later when you need to slow down, the car has a magical burst of speed and you would need to use the helpful electronic brake assist to floor the brake for you.
The power steering is also tuned, to irritate you. Turn a little and it dosen't turn. Turn a little more and it oversteers for you. Parking is another chore with the car. Firstly, it auto accelerates, YES IN REVERSE GEAR. Then when you are doing your vertical parking and turning into the lot, the parking sensor suddenly decides to beep as if you are going to hit an imaginary kerb. Then as u inch carefully into the rest of the lot, the sensor decides to go off. And just as you are around 5cm away from the kerb, it beeps again, slowly, 3cm and it beeps quickly. Note, there is no back view camera installed.
And if your eyes are starting to get irritated reading this review of this great brand who also makes GTR's, well, now you know how it feels like driving a nissan latio sport.

The bus was comfortable, had smooth accleration and the changing of gears was so smoothly done that some would think that it runs on only 1 gear... The engine was quiet from the inside and the capacity is almost as large as the new sbs scanias =/ only irritating thing is that the stupid doors closing sound that you hear on the MRT is being implemented on this bus =/
Argh now i got alot of stuff to do... MST round the corner and i have some stupid human factors debate and questions to do... gotta get started now...

I'M MELTING
This is crazy, its 4:30 and the temperature is 33 degrees celcius. I have a big headache and my throat is damn dry. Prolly gonna get sick soon. Maybe also because i sat next to viknesh(who didn't come today because he was sick) who was breathing thru his snot.
Then the lame forecast says that it will rain in the late afternoon... My ass, singapore meteorological system sucks man. Everyday on the news they say it will rain... They say its partly cloudly now but i dont see any clouds and its scorching hot.
Sorry pple who talked to me on msn... I just woke up not long ago, prolly 1:20 or sth... came home after interview and sleep till now.
Shld be in spinnovex or at least pass this interview. ptb said sth abt we are sure in because we do everything ourself or sth... he was talking to the girls only so i didn't really hear what he was blabbering about.
Monday stayed till 8 to do the robot then JJ started complaining, so we went home. Yesterday stayed until 11+. Mostly because he was fixing the robot and said sth like spinnovex no hope already, confirm cannot go in. I screwed him upside down. Said sth like if u don wanna go spinnovex i want to. After that he diam diam and go do his job.

Our robot cant climb the wall and its a hardware issue. Since he said he wants to do hardware he should be the one troubleshooting and reasoning why the pump/suction pads cant hold the weight. My program is there and is correct. Triple checked. Gears are still breaking and it seems like its my fault that its happeneing.
Today he almost saboed our group again. We ran afew rounds and felt that one of the legs the gear had some teeth sheared off. Then he went to tell the whole world that the motor was spoiled and when i told him that we are able to run it for afew more times before the gear breaks totally he didn't believe me. Summore keep xia lan me.
When our turn to demo he was redoing the pneumatic tubing as ptb suggest that the tubing may be the problem(which i am 99.99% sure is not). Then i ask him why u do now he come tell me anyway the robot can't run... -.-
Made him put the tubing back and run the robot. He gave the interviewers the impression that we do things last min... zzz anyway everything went well until before the robot transitions from floor to wall... apperently the tubing was too long and got folded, resulting in the vaccuum being unable to suck.
Prolly be in spinnovex according to ptb. The funny thing is that all the 3 robots under him screwed up during the interview, lol. The girls one could not climb properly until after 5 tries and some cheating (pushing the robot onto the wall so that it would suck) and the other guys group one also cannot suck properly.
Anyway ptb got owned =X:
Ptb: So next time you run the motors, you may connect the rs485 to the wrong port and it will still run...
Me: Sir, they only program it to run on 1 port, if they connect it to another port, it wont run...(They actually did connect it wrongly on tuesday nite)

Went to eat prata for supper with ky and wr at Al Jilani Restaurant located at 127 Bencoolen Street. The pratas are mushroom on plain on banana. Total cost with teh ping abit over 5 bucks i guess =/
talked alot, then we went to ecp to go to toilet as the prata shop dosent seem to have one... drove to a car park where couples had sex... some got cover the window with newspaper while others just pushed the seats down. I feel they should get a sports utility vehicle or a multi purpose vehicle so that they can just lay the rear seats down and fuck...
drove ky and wr home and parked... there was this stupid taxi driver blocking the way and refused to budge even though i was on one side and he had another cab behind him. After i went straight then he decided to turn right, and that was about 5 mins later when i got fed up. I signal right and wait like an idiot like that. Good thing i went straight as i found a lot below my block. Usually, at 3am, the lots below my block are full but i guess someone just went out.
Ok, i know i complain alot, but i just have to say this. Theres this damned honda fit who obviously failed his parking. His car is so freaking small yet he has to occupy the right side of his lot leaving a HUGE gap on the left side. I felt like parking my fathers car zhun zhun inside the box but in fear of it being scratched by that illiterate bugger, i had to slant my car so that he can get in the drivers seat... DAMN HIM. The space the fit leaves can fit a whole wheelchair. It may be the car at the right corner's fault but the fit still has sufficient space to park in the middle of the lot as the honda fit is a SMALL CAR...

Almost killed my com by installing winxp sp3 today... stupid win update keep asking me to install.. so i click install updates... it run run run after like 30-50 mins got 1 error, then whole com hang... then i go restart... heng can rollback if wad i at home psp whole day liao..
As im blogging now, theres a mosquito chionging me... argh...
Finally i decide to update... U complain that i talk abt ptb everyday, but thats wad my whole life is about.. FYP... Demo is next wednesday, JJ burnt another motor yesterday, by reversing the polarities. The motor guy abit dulan already, don wan help us repair...
Ptb hasnt contacted me in 2 weeks i guess... Dono izzit a good thing or bad. Heard from my classmate that only 1 out of the 7 wall climbing robot teams will be going to spinnovex... hope it isnt true >,< . If wad i rly work so hard for nth.. Chun Ming lent me his psp(Thank You, many many) and now im addicted to the game Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights... Feel like gettin a psp for myself. Found out that my father quite tok kong one as i found a wire crimper and heads for the rj45 connectors, but couldnt find the wires... haha...
If i'm not getting into spinnovex or getting an A, i will delete all my programs and let the girls group do everything by themselves. Currently, pattabhi is making me write a program for my robot and the girls robot.
I feel i deserve an A. 90% of the stuff they know how to do now is because i taught them how to and another 5% jj teach them. another 3% is taught by pattabhi so if i do not get at least an A for this sickening fyp i am so going to screw them up.
Fail me if you want to, i do not mind repeating my fyp module to get a better grade. If i do not get into spinnovex, i will inform pattabhi beforehand and make him get me inside. If he refuses, i plan to tell him what i would do.

Was surfing the web and started looking into swiss army knives, this one looks not bad. Found this.
What i liked abt it is that it has a wire cutter, stripper, crimper and plier, lol. and its like 42 us which is like 62.1264 sing. Getting a good plier with a cutter embedded and crimp tool and stripper would cost afew hundred bucks. That day saw the crimping tool at the motor guy's shop selling for 90+ bucks.

Nth much liao, pass few days was basically relaxing at home and staring at the com.
Thats what i showed. Damn screwup, director came and look for the first time cannot work cus jj did not connect the valves to the motherboard.
Today, burnt 1 motor due to pattabhi's great idea of connecting our motors to a psu set to parallel mode as we had only 1 high current supply. Saw an instant of sparks. And it just had to be 2 hours before the director comes.
Replaced the motor afterwhich jj kept saying spark everytime a psu is switched on which was irritating to me. Moreover, he did not dare to turn on the psu and i had to do it. I still do not understand what is there to be scared of.
From the video, you can see that our valves do not "auto purge" as mentioned in the previous post. It is still stuck to the ground after the suction is turned off. You can see that the suction pads are being forced out by the motors. The long delays is to allow the pads to hopefully self purge abit so that the motors have enough torque to lift it off the ground.
Fucker, sunday sms me, ask me do a program in 2 days to flip the robot. Its something we have never done or observed.
NOW, the fucking valve that fucktardbhi claims "Auto Purges" DOES NOT. Seriously, does he know his stuff?!

Fucked up, i just reached home from srg. If i don't get a fucking distinction i am so going to complain about pattabhi till he loses his fucking job.
FUCK. Lately, i havent been sleeping enough, eating enough and resting enough. Holidays like that burnt away liao. Last day of holiday and what am i doing??? Go srg do fyp... zzz
Wednesday: we packed everything (me bringing most of the things back) and i went home. Just as i was about to reach my lift puga called and said that they needed the cm2 board. Ended up i walk to eunos mrt to pass the board to her and walk home again... wanted to drive to her hse at nite to pass the board but she don wan zzz.
Yesterday, Went to the motor shop, a main objectives, in short AMO to test the darn motors. Motor guy said nothing was wrong with the drivers and stuff. Then he took a look at our mcu and started complaining.
The mcu/mobo we are using is a TERN RD board, running on an AMD 186ER (this chip is no longer in production and i do not know where they are getting this chip from). Basically, everything is sucky about this board. The libraries suck, the manual sucks the compiler sucks. Yes, you can say that all C/C++ compilers are the same, I tell you, they are not. This one is difficiult to use, and you cant even scroll with your mouse wheel. The manual does not list what commands activate what and some commands are just listed in the manual without any description. Even ptb says it sucks, only reason he uses it is because it has rs485 drivers and high voltage drivers.
Today: Now, i brought back the motors to the lab today. The cable we were using was almost falling apart, so i got jj to fix it. He then connected all the pins wrongly, and did the same for a second cable. Then i tried and tried and told him that the cable dosent work.
Next thing i know keng kwee (sorry if i spell wrongly) told me that today collect f1 pay. Then i called alvin and he told me that he was going to leave to collect the pay soon. I sian diao... so many days yet never tell me he going to collect the pay today...
Then asked jj to check the cables and he was like switching power supplies cus ours has one loose pin that is quite erractic. Ended up that he connected the wires in the total opposite. So we were feeding like 16V 1.5A into data lines. Heng the motor nvr spoil. Next, ptb asked me to call the motor guy and ask him to die die also must fix our motors.
Finally got thru after 93470328502395808673746053985917253097205683406734-9768023902 attempts. Apperently the excuse was that the phone had some problem. Finally got thru and got him to speak to ptb. The 2 argued for about 7 mins before they came to an agreement that we send ONE faulty motor and our mobo to the motor guy.
Started to pack the cables for the mobo and jj just found out that he had connected everything the wrong side up. Thats when alvin started to call and ask me if im ready to go anot. I was helping to remove the pins from the connectors(5 sec per pin, im good =D) when he called again... zzz tio rush like siao... then jj wasnt willing to pass the stuff to the motor guy later or tml... he can be very uncooperative sometimes and im doing almost everything...
Finally got the cable and did a quick test to determine it was working (plug into psu and to motor, switch on psu, motor led blink = work). Chionged out to meet alvin to collect pay. Ended up waiting at outram for jason and his gf and her cousin for around 15 min zzz....
Collected my pay and then JJ called. Now he says one of the motor that the motor guy did something to the firmware was working. Then he coming down to pass me the rest of the motors that were faulty, also ptb instructed him not to give the motor guy our mobo and just to update the firmware of our faulty motors and we would test them on monday. Now, i have to send 4 motors to the motor guy for firmware upgrading by 6pm and it was already 5. FUCK
Called the motor guy to ask him to wait for me, also asked him if he flashed the motors anot. HE SAID HE NEVER TOUCH THE FIRMWARE. Knn, come and stress me up again.
The situation now is:
i am supposed to give the faulty motors for the guy to do a firmware flash/upgrade and get them back for testing on monday
the guy said he never touch the firmware and it is probably our hardware fault
I did not know what to do. So i just went to his place and dump everything there including the mobo and cables as he said he wanted to take a look at our board. Apperently he has no trouble with other customers and we are the first.
Went home and then priya called and asked "Eh, Hello?, Biondi ah, sorry to trouble you ah. Biondi you know how to check if motor got burn anot ah???"
Our motor controller board has gone crazy and decides not to function properly. I suspect that it is the capacitor on the bottom but jj dosent want to resolder it, say wad scared and all that shit. ARGH. prolly nid to do it myself on monday.
Wa, damn fucked up man. If they burned the motors, we have no spare and ptb sure kpkb alot. Apperently they said it works as the technitian provided them with a board and program to test theirs. I told them, HOPE FOR THE BEST. If really burn monday confirm no need sake wif joel and kw and alvin.
Again, i wish to say:
The two groups under pattabhi are nothing without me. Anything wrong the girls run to me. JJ is too lazy and stubborn and keeps giving excuses and we are the only 2 groups using the stupid motherboard in the whole lab or possibly the whole school.
I am not saying i am god and my programming is godly. I just have basic programming skills almost as good as the programmers of the girls group, but my knowledge of the motors and the stinking motherboard exceeds all of them.
