A Very Tommy Tom Christmas

We're back from our whirlwind five day Christmas tour!  Two nights in Montgomery, two nights in Mobile, and a day of travelling chopped up in between.  We had a wonderful time.  I'm enjoying the tree one more night here at home.  Normally it's down and in the attic before BT has time to check the mail at home, but we're giving it one more night.

Baby T was all smiles, and absolutely loved every bit of the process.  Santa did him up right!  I'd say his favorites gifts were his stuffed Mickey, his basketball goal, his slide, his radio flyer wagon, and his new chair (of which we've already had a 'boo boo' tonight when someone decided to lunge back and take a dive off the side of the chair tonight--oh well, won't be the last).

Enough of the talking.

Thomas and his cousin Ethan were big buddies

I don't think he was too thrilled with this shirt :)

We ended the trip with a stop in Montgomery on Monday to wish Ethan a Happy 3rd Birthday!
Great time, and now, it's back to work.  Hope you had a great Christmas!

Here's a little of what we've (or more Thomas) been up to lately...

Playing with the breast pump supplies

Getting Festive for T's School Christmas Play

Helping with the Christmas Tree (probably the last year we can get away with the super easy table-top fake version!)

Hammin' it up for the camera

Pointing...lots of pointing, and grunting, and adding new words all the time.

Climbing, Climbing, Climbing over EVERYTHING!

Looking super cute in winter gear (including dad's hat)

Being a Super Helper.  Thomas LOVES helping with chores

Growin' Up...

My friend Kerry and I had our first babies within a month of each other.  Since then, Allan and Thomas have had lots of good play time together.  Now, as crazy as it is, we're both pregnant again.  Even though her newest little boy is set to arrive any day now, and ours has to cook for another five and a half months!

A & T had another playdate this past weekend while Kerry and I caught up and I kept her company while she was on bedrest.  They had a fantastic time like they always do.  So Kerry sent me a few pictures her mom took on Saturday's visit, and it got me thinking.  It sure is amazing how quick they grow....

Early March Playdate at Kerry's

Allan & Thomas' first trip to the zoo together in April

Mexican Dinner with the Parents in July

Celebrating T's 1st Birthday (Allan is on the right)

This Past Saturday, playing so well together like little boys

They both really love Trucks

Learning to Share
I'm so thankful for T's friendships at school and outside of school.  He is learning to share, play nicely, and be kind to others.  Even if they do fight over pacis :-)

Apologies

I feel really bad for being so bad about blogging lately.  I think it's because I've been so busy, so tired, and so very sick.  My nausea/pukiness went away for about a week, so I thought I was done with it, but then it came back full force.  This baby is doing a number on me.  Wonder what it says about its little personality :-)

So I hope it gets better soon.  I'm officially out of the first trimester (I think?---I'll be honest, with this one I just haven't paid as much attention to the weeks--except I do know they're FLYING by), so I really hope the "random smells in the air cause me to fly to the bathroom and puke my guts out" thing is on its way out the door.  We'll see.

We've been doing great here.  Say some quick prayers about some upcoming changes that are possibly on the horizon for us.  There are some possibilities out there that we are hoping work out soon, and that might give way to some even bigger changes for more space and more room, because when this next one comes, we'll be busting at the seams at home.  I know people do it with a lot less, but when you're used to space, it's tough to suddenly have it taken away from you.

I'm rambling and that all probably made zero sense.

Sounds about right these days...

Turkey Time!

We had a fantastic trip to Memphis for Thanksgiving this year, but I can't say I'm going to win any awards for the number and quality of pictures taken.  We got zero pictures of T with the great grandparents, zero family group pictures, and zero pictures of anything that would make you know what holiday we were celebrating.  Oh well.  We had a great time anyway.

The majority of time at my grandparents' was spent as it usually is: eating and relaxing and watching TV, mostly football.  This year's Thanksgiving menu: Smoked Turkey, Honeybaked Ham, sweet potato casserole, rice casserole, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, chocolate chip pumpkin pie, pecan pie, lemon icebox pie, and chocolate chess pie.  DELISH!

Relaxing Chill PJ Time on the Floor :-)

Playing with Dad
Friday we went over to BT's sister's house for lunch, and T got in some great playtime with his other grandparents and his cousins.  They had a great time, and Thomas loved playing with all the "new" toys around.  He also ate the mess out of some barbeque for lunch.  He ate BBQ pork, baked beans, cole slaw, a couple french fries, and some goldfish.  He's developing a boy's appetite for sure.

Playtime with Grammie and Ethan

SHHHH...Santa may be bringing him something similar to this in a few weeks.

T Loved the Black and Decker Tool Bench
So overall, we had a great trip.  Glad to be home.  Laundry is piled up, no groceries in the house.  Must catch up as soon as possible, but for today, it's back to work!

Allison Lewis Photography Session

Back around the middle of October, we had the opportunity to spend a morning with a college friend and photographer, Allison Lewis.  I was really excited to have her take Thomas' one year pictures, because I already knew what wonderful work she did.  We met early one Saturday morning at the new Railroad Preservation Park downtown, and not only was Thomas totally 'on' all morning, but the pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL.  There are way too many to post them all, but here are my absolute favorites:

Thank you so much for capturing our T's essence PERFECTLY!

Speaking of pictures, and not to leave the newest out, here is the first picture we have of T's little brother or sister :-)  It is grainy and a little shiny looking because it's actually a picture of the picture that I took with my cell phone, but you get the idea.  There's a little alien peanut growing inside there :-)
