my summer

i have not written any updates this summer. it has been a rather crazy three or four months since may....heart attack, triple bypass surgery,Ryan's birth- helicopter ride- week stay at Cook's Children's NICU in Ft Worth, George Austin's birth, my collapsed left coronary bypass vein, stints, three weeks of recovery, four more stints, cardiac rehab, late start to school and now finally back to my regular schedule. God has provided me with family members who have encouraged and taken care of me, good friends who have showed their love and concern and great insurance that has taken a lot of worry away. the birth of the boys made for very happy times. God has been so good to our family. i am feeling better than before and have a fresh start on life so this BDub can love on her grandbabies!

my pictures started with Austin, then Sydney and Ryan. beautiful babies!

Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails....

that's what little boys are made of? I don't understand much about little boys but am about to learn. Both Andi and Matt and Kristin and Jason are expecting little guys- Ryan Matthew Brewington and George Austin McNeil. Fun times are coming.

Our Family in 2008

Andi and Matt moved to Abilene from Dallas. Matt works for Concord Medical- a physician staffing company. Andi teaches 4th grade math at Austin Elementary :) .

Kristin and Jason moved from Lubbock to the Woodlands with Sydney. Kristin paused her medical residency and is a full-time wife and mom. Jason works for Apache Oil as a project engineer. My youngest brother Bruce and his family live in the same neighborhood about 1.2 miles from them. Nice.

Jim turned 60 years old and because the FAA and Congress raised the pilot mandatory retirement age from 60 to 65, he continues to fly for Delta out of Atlanta. I remain the elementary school nurse at Austin Elementary which is .6 miles from our house. I hate getting up every morning but by 9:00am each day am loving my job. Sweet children and staff!

We all celebrated Christmas this year in the Woodlands. It was Bruce's family's first time not to travel over the holidays and he loved it! We ate too much, spent wonderful time together and went to a very fun Christmas Eve service at First Baptist Church the Woodlands where Bruce is senior pastor. Sydney got to light the candle and place baby Jesus in the cradle with Bruce's family. Bob and Dianne and fam came down the 26th. A very good holiday!

I have said it before, "Life is good and we are blessed!"

The Girl LOVES Hats!

Sydney loves to wear hats. She loves when she sees other people wearing hats, particularly other women. She will walk up to them and smile and do the sign for hat while saying the word. Sweet girl.

A Change of Plans

Kristin and Jason are still in Houston with precious Sydney! Jason took a job with Apache Oil in Houston that will keep them here in Texas. They have purchased a home, found a church to worship in, brought their dog Nacho Cheese home to live and are settling into the Woodlands with my brother Bruce and his wife Nancy and three girls about a mile away to love on them!

TBARM

Our family traveled to TBarM over Labor Day weekend. We spent three days floating, talking, playing tennis, listening to bands, eating, stacking, walking, going on walks and playing on the soccer fields, swimming, laughing and smelling the flowers.

Girls- Here, There and Everywhere!

Kristin was living in Lubbock and finishing her anesthesiology residency. She decided to be a full-time mom and wife and pause her career. Jason and she moved with Syd to Houston and then are taking an opportunity to move overseas to England and then Spain. for 4 years! leaving in August.

Andi and Matt were living in Dallas. Matt got the opportunity for a job in Abilene and they moved to Abilene. .8 miles from my house. This is a picture of their new home. Andi was hired as a 4th grade teacher at Austin Elementary. (i am the nurse at Austin- can you hear my quiet glee!)

I am excited for Kristin and Jason. They are adventuresome and will get to travel and experience new places and cultures. But I sure am happy that one of the girls will be nearby to love on me and keep me straight!

Sister and girls, Couples and Cousins

My entire extended family (minus one brother-in-law) spent four days at Crystal Beach July 10-13 for my niece Natalie's wedding. It was a good time to visit, commiserate over crazy bad lodging!and overeat. Congratulations, Natalie and Jason!

The pictures are of my sister Mary and her girls Lindsay and Leah with me and mine the night of the rehearsal dinner, my girls and husbands the night of the wedding and all the girl nieces at the breakfast bash lingerie shower the older four cousins threw for Natalie.

Sweet Sydney

Sydney is growing up! She is full of energy and is very happy and loving! Her BDub is in love with this little girl.
