The earth has made another revolution around the sun, and it is time to wish Sarah a happy birthday. I've thought a lot about this one. She has the distinction of being born on inauguration day. The day Sarah entered the world was the day Jimmy Carter was inaugurated. It was a cold day in Florida, in fact, it was a very cold winter that year. I had to be in bed for much of the month before her birth, and one morning when I got up, the house was so cold. I checked the thermostat. I don't remember how cold it was, but the city was doing rolling blackouts because of the heavy load on power usage. School was closed for a couple of days because it was too difficult to try to heat the buildings. This morning, one of the weather men from Tampa posted a picture of the snow in Tampa on January 19. On Thursday morning, the 20th, as Don and I drove to the hospital, the temperature on the bank said 26. Yes, it was cold.
Sarah has grown into a wonderful young woman. She is such a hard worker (like her dad.) She is kind and caring, a great mom to her two cats, a doting aunt to Ella, a good sister to David, and I consider her my best friend. She does so much for me. I think what strikes me the most is her heart for God.
I wish for Sarah a wonderful year ahead that God will continue to guide her and lead her in the path that she should go.
