April Wonders

I can't move this to the end of the month. But, this is what I was doing at the end of April. I tilled all that myself!! It was backbraking but I got it done. In the small garden area behind our house where we had our only garden last year, (pic above) I have two cherry tomatoe plants, three leafy greens and one mint plant which I will probably take out and move someplace else. Mint grows like weeds! I have in pots behind our house basil and thyme. I will plant cilantro soon.
In the picture below, that is our new addition for this year. It's behind our house and is about 20 x 12 feet. I have roma tomatoes and two other kinds (12 total), 4 green bell pepers, 4 red bell peppers, 6 cucumbers, 1 watermelon. The boys helped plant these! I will get seeds to do green beans and add that closer to the right fence. I am so excited! I hope it is as successful as last years garden. I hope to can some for the winter too!

My first 5K race was a windy, hilly run. I still was under my goal of 27 minutes! Ending time: 26:44 and I was the 4th woman winner overall! I got a metal because I placed in my age group, as first! My neighbor Heather blew everyone away and won the entire race with a time of 21:??
(I don't have a picture of myself there because I forgot my camera. I hope Heather will send me the pic of us soon.)

Easter vacation was up in New York (of course we forgot our camera... but still had fun). We helped grandpa Gams burn up some weeds on his land, went fishing, did our Easter hunt and went to a funeral... Aunt BK passed. We listened to Harry Potter #6 on the drive up and back. Yeah, it went over the heads of Noah and Payton but Gray and Owen loved it and hope to see the movie. Plus, our boys do super on long trips when they listen to audio books.

Other wonders: Baseball had some cold and hot days (60 one day, 90 the next), Foster Care classes started (thanks Greg for being so supportive), Noah's school choir, and a school fun run.

This is why I need a new camera. The inside pictures rarely work. I was lucky that Payton's was more clear (his picture is above Noah's), but still... aren't they just dreadful? I seriously need a new camera. I plan to get one before too long and definitly by our 14th wedding anniversary in September!
(I wonder should I go all out and get a Dikon, or just a camera with a really good zoom? 10 or 12x. Give me your opinion if you have one.)

Fun run... fun walk... whatever, its all good! Payton and his best bud, Aiden.

Noah sure got hot. (I'm glad I volunteered to be there this day because I noticed Noah has a crush on a little girl in his class. It is so cute. I won't say her name here, it will embarrass him.)

Payton and buddy KC.

Owen and his buddy, Jared. (Notice Owen's long hair. Well, its buzzed now!) I'll get that pic in soon. Greg was the one to start buzzing Owen's hair this year. Greg enjoyed the opportunity of shaving it all off!

Daffodil's are the first sign of spring around here. I love them!

All four are in baseball. Yes, its crazy, but they love it! I like watching them play but for me... I endure it sometimes. Plus, Im a jinx! I have yet to see a full game of Owen's and not miss something spectacular. Everytime I have a chance to be at his game, nothing happens. When I drive away, walk away, then he hits a homer or stikes out 3 kids in a row!

Gray's "it" picture. Awe... 6th grade memories! (It's cut now. April's 90 degree weather prompted all boys to get a nice trim or buzz.)
