He's ONE!!

Today is the day!!! I can't believe how fast a year flew by! And here I am still trying to do a blog post for 10 and 11 months. Ha ha!

It's been a year of fumbling through new experiences, surviving on little sleep, growing, crying, laughing, and feeling so much joy and love we thought we would burst. we have lived every day this last year better learning that the things you sacrifice the most for are the things you cherish the most. A forever family truly is the greatest gift God has given us.

Cannon Bug's birthday party is on Saturday (hopefully we get to see the people reading this) so more pictures coming soon.

10 Months Old

10 Months Old

Happy Groundhog Day! Saw these in a magazine and couldn't resist. :)

Our poor baby was running a fever for about a week. We think it's probably teething, but have noticed that every time the weather changes Cannon gets congested and sick for a few days.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Going down the seasonal isle at Walmart is always an adventure. We enjoyed seeing and playing with all the V-Day stuffed animals....especially the ginormous teddy bear and lion. They were so soft. When Cannon feels something soft he giggles and rubs it on his face.

Cannon's first airplane trip!! C and I flew to AZ for the weekend to visit my family. He did really well on the flights and mostly slept.

Snuggles with Grandpa! So sweet!

Ramona was nice enough to let us use her carseat. :)

Cannon and Mona

Oma was in Arizona to help Amanda after her surgery. It was perfect timing that we were able to see Oma and all of our AZ family in one weekend! You can tell she was pretty happy to be surrounded by her beautiful grand babies.

Laurel literally cornered by rug rats.

Cannon bug and Mona. They played well together.

When in AZ one MUST go to Sushi 101. Cannon didn't have any sushi, but he did enjoy the rice.

That's the cutest ill chicly I've ever seen!

9 months old

9 Months

Height: 29" (68th percentile)
Weight: 18.5lbs (15th percentile)
Head Size: 17.5" (22nd percentile)

It's a little bit sad that Cannon is already 10 months old and I"m just now getting around to writing his 9 month blog post. Can I get a "boo hoo?" :( I just really need to face the fact that I am not cut out to be a blogger...no consistency. But regardless if anyone else actually reads this I like having the photo journal. My little baby is quickly growing into a little boy....right before my eyes. So here are the highlights from month 9. (Make sure you read the separate Christmas post).

Have I mentioned that Cannon snores? Uh...Yeah, snores!!! He gets it from his Dad. :) It's like an all-night lumber yard in our house! Poor Mom can't escape the snores in either bedroom and I've had to resort to using earplugs again. I must say though, that Cannon's snores are really quite adorable. So cute in fact that while we were in Washington for Christmas, Pappy made an audio recording of them on his phone.

Cannon is just all-together not shy about letting us know what he wants. He is a very vocal baby and laughs, squeals, grunts and even sings. When he is stuck or feels frustrated he lets out quite the squeal!  When he wakes up during the night C will cry out with loud, deep shouts. It's not really a cry, more like an annoyed squawk. It's like he's yelling out "Hey Mom!!! I need you, like, NOW!!"

What's even more funny is that he has figured out how to pull down the crib bumper so he can peek out and see when his bedroom door opens. As soon as I come in the room his squawk turns into a sad, pathetic cry,...."Oh Mom, you have no idea how sad and miserable I am. I need you to pick me up before I waste away!" He's pretty much perfected the turned down, super sad, pouty-face that he knows melts my heart.

And here's the handsome lil' devil posing for pictures. He KNOWS he's cute. :)

Okay, so Cannon has become more mobile and has branched out from just rolling across the floor. In a short time C has gone from rolling, to army crawling, to wanting to be up and moving on things like his little car. He's even cruising the furniture already. He's still trying to figure out the art of dismounting though. I know it's so sad, but I couldn't resist snapping this picture when Cannon tried to get off his car and got stuck in the splits.

In the morning, while Anthony and I get ready for work/school Cannon hangs out in the hallway at the top of the stairs. By the time we finally leave the ocean of toys and books that C has pulled off the shelf look like some kind of natural disaster. Probably not the safest thing to have at the top of the stairs, but at least he's entertained.

Like most children, Cannon gives a lot of attention playing with toys that aren't actually toys. One of his favorites are hangers. Anytime I do laundry Cannon likes to sit on the bed and surround himself in a pile of hangers, usually swinging one around like a sword. It usually ends with him getting tangled up or stuck somehow and squealing the signal to me that he's done. Here he is helping me swap out clothing sizes in his closet.

For Christmas, Oma sent Cannon this ginormous Superman action figure. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or be creeped out by it. Ha ha! Cannon still isn't so sure about it and doesn't know what to do with is, so Superman hangs out in Cannon's swing in his bedroom. He is kind enough to hold bedtime storybooks for us. Is this bizarrely funny or what? I love it! :)
