A to Z Challenge Starts!

Well, here is the start of my challenge. I forgot that we used to have cool letters to add to our posts. Oh well.

A is for Agnus Dei, at least for me.  I have kept to an hour a day for the last few days. I feel like I am making progress.

Here is where you saw it last:

And here is where I am today:

No Easter finish for me, but I may see a finish before the end of the year. If I can keep up with this!

Whitework Sampler Progress March

I have made some progress on this piece although it is quite far from being done:

My friends have started the whitework section-lots of satin stitch and four sided-and say it is even "more fun" to count! Joy! But I do like how this looks and hope to get some stitching time on it this week.

A Plan for April

Do any of you remember the April A to Z Blog Challenge? Well, I kind of miss it. Not all of it, that is for sure, but some of it. So I have decided to try it again. I won't have a theme. I think I will just try to post a photo of something to do with needlework every day except for Sundays. Care to join me?

I have decided I have too many large projects that are in my rotation. I love them all, but some are easier just to pull out and work on than others. So I decided to TRY to stitch on Agnus Dei every day for an hour. Here is my progress for today:

Doesn't look like much does it? Oh well. I will keep plugging along.

IHSW for March

Well, the day isn't over so I guess this will count!

Here is my stitching for the weekend.

I concentrated on 17th Century Whitework Sampler:

Starting point-

End point:

Those flowers take a bit of time!

I worked on the Mill Hill kit but don't want to spoil the surprise for my friend.

Springhill  got a tiny bit of stitching:

As did Betsy's Needlecase:

And some work on Agnus Dei:

Hope you  had a good stitching weekend!

It is the Weekend!

 IHSW to be exact!

I am not sure how much stitching I will get done, but here are my projects for the weekend. Hopefully I will remember to post on Monday what I actually stitched!

Whitework Sampler

In my head, this is the whitework sampler although I have not started any of the whitework and it will be a bit before I do.

I managed to fix the vine and get the first flower into place. It has some backstitched scrolls and then some leaves....I may be getting the hang of this stitch.

Gifted Gorgeousness for March 2021

Jo, over at Serendipitous Stitching hosts this SAL. We are to post anything that we have been gifted, that will be a gift, or that we can shoehorn into the category of gift...

 2021 GG

I have been working on this piece for my son. I liked it until I dyed it with chia seeds. (Don't ask.) But a friend sees potential. I  am working on some other projects as gifts and when they are done, I will pull this back out. I need to pull threads for seaweed and shells....

Beads in the Jessicas?

I have been plugging away at Springhill. I do love the colors and stitching with 100/3 from Au ver a Soie.

But I needed to do something for the flowers that go around the vine. I decided that the jessica stitch was a good idea:

I like how they look. But they needed something in the center so I tried a number 15 bead.

Too big! As those are the smallest I have (and that I know exist!), I decided it needed a french knot:

Much better. I have to do a few at a time as they are so tiny!!!

TUSAL for March

Today is the day after the new moon, but it is close enough for the TUSAL!

This is the brainchild of Daffycat . We just show our orts for the month. Lots of fun to show the little ends and bits from our crafting!

The first one is from my sewing room. I was doing some finishing and decided to take a photo of the bowl of scraps.

This is the one by my stitching area. All sorts of bits and bobs in that bowl.

My Other Project

I pull this piece out when I need to do a little stitching that is relaxing.

Here is where I was when I last posted:

Here is where I am today:

I am hoping to get a page finish before the end of the month. I will try to take a better photo next time!

People's Choice for March

The People's Choice SAL Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching hosts this SAL on the first weekend of every month. This month the prompt is SPRING!

I personally am so ready for spring.

A few weeks ago this is what it looked like close to my house. No flowers yet, but the snow is melting and the temperatures are above freezing. I will take it!

My piece for the month is Springhill. I am making progress on this piece:

I decided to do Montenegrin stitch on the row under the big vine. It is good practice and I like the texture.

There was some discussion on whether to stitch the eyelets on the vine or if it would be nice to do Jessicas. I like the Jessicas and I know how to stitch them, but do I really want to mess with them? I think a smyrna cross would look good too. And I have an urge to put a french knot in the center of every jessica....What would you do?

The Colors Call Me

I must admit that I do love stitching on this piece. The colors speak to me, as they are so bright and cheerful.

Oh! I wanted to show you my calendar for the month of February:

It is interesting to me that I can consistently work on about three pieces. Every now and then I throw in a fourth one, but it is normally two or three. How about you? How many pieces do stitch on daily?

I Had Planned....

Well, I had planned to post more often in 2021, but we can see how that is going! I have been stitching, which is good.

This piece is my 17th Century Whitework Sampler. No whitework yet....That wide band is incorrect, but I decided to leave it. I have been moving forward to the next bands without issue until I got to the next wide band....

I realized last night as I was happily stitching along that I made an error. I ripped it out(hence the space in the second row of dark purple) when I realized I had made a mistake in the bottom curve. I think I need to rip it as the flower in the middle section will not fit. Sigh. I do like my color choices and I look forward to doing the whitework section.
