A Finish of A Small
I did it! I finished stitching the Quaker Ghost in time for Heather's Small SAL.
Ok, so he needs his button eyes, which I lost. This means a trip to the basement to look for the right buttons. I am thinking purple , but we will see. I am thinking of stitching him again over one on the same fabric. But first I must see how my friend wants this finished.

Something New, Sort Of
I did all I plan to do on the pilot class. I should be working on crazy quilt postcards or a sample for the workshop I am leading in November, BUT I DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT!!!
Sorry about the yelling, but I am feeling frustrated that I still cannot drive because of the ankle surgery. So I pulled something easy that requires not too much thinking and is easy to carry around.
It is one of my "starts" from January:
I am a little sad as it is missing one color of thread. If I have it in the basement, I won't bother to contact Mill Hill. I know they will send it if I ask, but they are fairly generous on beads and threads normally.

Gifted Gorgeousness for August
Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching
has a wonderful SAL where we show works we received as gifts or that we are giving away.
I thought I would have this finished, but I am disgusted with all the mistakes.
Here is what I showed last month:
And here is Quaker Ghost almost finished:
The fabric is a lovely coloring, but is so loose that I had a terrible time making neat stitches. And I also found that I am one row off. I am not going to rip it and I am going to finish it. Hopefully before the end of the month!! I have another half of fabric and I think when i use it, I will starch it a bit to give it some body. Sigh. Live and learn, I guess.

I Have Been Stitching...
But I can't show it to you!!!I am busy trying to finish that pilot class. I would really prefer to work on Reptiles, but feel like I need to get this task completed. Also, I made a HUGE mistake on the pilot piece. I put a motif in the wrong place and I don't think there is enough thread to redo the whole section. So I am ignoring it for now and doing the other sections. I am so glad I am stitching it. The colors are not my favorites, but the motifs are a blast to stitch.
My dd and I did some yard sales yesterday. I was looking for a rice maker and freezer for my oldest, but I struck out on those things. I did find a new coffee maker for myself-$2!!!!! and these beauties:
Yes, that is dd under the tablecloths!
The center of the grey one is batttenburg lace, I do believe.
The white one has lovely whitework:
And it is huge!
They really need a good wash. My mom loves to entertain and I want to see if she wants them. I will attempt to clean them for her if she does. If not, I will wash them and dye them at the next dyeing workshop at the library.
I also found these napkins:

A Little Bling
Because of my ankle, I have to hold my frame in a strange position. I noticed that I was rubbing my linen on my Christmas stocking and knew that would bug me. A quick post on Facebook and I received a recommendation:
The cover was simple, but seems effective. It should keep my piece clean.
And she had pretty needle minders too, so I bought two and she sent the little pink one along with my package. Perfect!
