It's a BOY!

Devan Paul Berg
October 21st 2010
6lbs. 4oz.
19 inches

We are so glad that Devan is here, although it was a surprise that he was coming on that day. Paul and I had gone to the hospital to try a version (turning a breech baby). Paul asked me before we left if he should pack a bag just in case and I told him NO that we were just going to be sent home anyway. Of course, that is not how it all played out!

Before my doctor tried to turn him she checked to see if I was dialating at all and we found out I was already at 4.5 centimeters and were informed that we would be having a baby today, one way or another. Devan did not turn during the attempted version so I ended up having another c-section. At least this time it was not an emergency situation and I knew what to expect.

Devan did spent 5 days in the NICU but is now home and doing well. What a sweet baby he is! We feel lucky to have him in our home!

Bear Lake 2010

Bear Lake is one of our favorite spots, especially when you add lots of cousins and sun! Maci learned to knee-board this summer and also got up on skis for the first time. Haley was content to just play in the sand with cousins all day long. Ashlynn spent most of her time on the boat cheering everyone else on. Thanks Berg's for a fun trip!

Lights at Temple Square

A few days before Christmas we went to Temple Square with my Mom and brother's family. It was cold but not so bad that the kids didn't enjoy it. The lights were gorgeous of cours and it set the mood for the Christmas Season.

My brother's cute family. (TJ, Audra, Keynan, Julian, and Tobin)

The reason for the season. Maci never once asked to take pictures outside, of the lights, but she took about a dozen of the Savior in the visitor's center. She also read every caption of the pictures of Christ's life. She is a good example for our family!

Me and My Girls

I had a great summer with my girls. I feel so blessed (most of the time) to be able to stay home and enjoy them. This summer we had a weekly bike ride which was really fun. I think we hit every park in town and also rode up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls twice. We rode to Midway and went swimming and took picnic lunches wherever we went. It was something we all looked forward to! We also went to Thanksgiving Point, Lagoon and Seven Peaks with cousins and friends. The older girls were able to attend BYU's soccer camp and Ashlynn went to basketball camp here in town. We had our big trip to Bear Lake with the Bergs and two fun cousin days with the older Berg girl cousins. We hiked to Timp Caves and had many of fun backyard picnics. We were also lucky enough to go camping with Grandpa and Nicole. They brought their four-wheelers and we had a great time! I love spending time with my family and am sad to see the summer days end.

Ashlynn

I can't believe that Ashlynn is in 4th grade. She was so excited to go back to school. She loves school! She made me set her alarm for 7:00 just in case. Of course she was up way before it ever went off!

I love the picture of Ashlynn. I think some people think that Ashlynn is very quiet and reserved but this is more of the Ashlynn that we see at home. She is full of energy and loves to have fun no matter what we are doing. She has recently started doing her own hair and this particular day she was very proud of how it turned out! She is also starting her second year of piano and doing quite well. She is a great big sister and super helper to her Mom.

My Maci Mace

Maci finally lost her first tooth this summer. Her permanent tooth was coming in behind it so I made her pull it out for one her chores. She did great! She pushed on it as hard as she could while I counted to ten. After about three rounds of pushing it was very loose! Then with one last yank it was out! The tooth fairy had to find her at Grandma Joyce's though because she was spending the night there. Luckily she found her there and deposited a dollar under her pillow!
Maci being silly. Imagine that!
This was the outfit that Maci chose for the first day of school. She is attending Heber Valley Elementary School and is participating in the Dual Immersion Spanish program. She has been so excited to learn Spanish and it is amazing how many words she knows already! It has been lonely at home for Haley and I without Maci to entertain us. We love you Maci!
