Christmas Thank You

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I received a Christmas gift from someone I won't see again for several months. I knew she wanted me to open it and I did, so now I need a thank you card to send her for the sweet gift.

I've been wanting to make a folded Christmas tree for a while. I'm using the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers shown here. They're really fun to make. I hand cut the trunk of the tree with some
brown cardstock and used stickles on the tree.  The banner for the sentiment was also hand cut.

I started out using the SCS sketch shown here but I kind of didn't stick with it, but maybe resembles it somewhat.

Recipe:
Stamps-Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/Dogwood Blossoms for sentiment
Paper-PTI white cs, MME paper pad/Christmas (double sided and matching papers), gold mirror paper, Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler cs
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories- EK Success Starry Night corner punch (used the negatives for the star), Xmas Red Stickles, Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, red rhinestones

A Simple Thank You

I didn't get to play the CASology challenge last week and I missed it. So, I'm jumping right in this week with challenge #19 and the cue word is THANKS.  We all need thank you cards, don't we?
I decided to make mine a bit on the elegant side. I love this 'thank you' image and it is the first time I've used it. It will probably get a good bit of use.

Shopping our Stash wants to see a Thanksgiving or Thank You card this week. I don't think I need another one for the holiday but I do need thank you cards.

Mega Thanks/Sunrays

My neighbor/friend just brought over a beautiful, cone-shaped, twig basket of flowers to hang on my fence. Today is not my birthday, but it is very soon. Her gift made me light up like these sun rays.

This is my first time to try this wonderful tutorial from Geri's Cards for the sun rays and it was so much fun. There is a good bit of sponging. I like it and hope you do, too. I  added my 'hot sun' with a piece of SU Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut with a circle nestabilitie.
The rest of the card was really simple.

I got inspiration from EtsyInspired challenge:EIC140- We are to choose our inspiration from an Etsy shop called Peaden Scott Designs (check out that awesome pop-up cards). Wow!
This is the card I was inspired by:
How beautiful is this! I didn't do any cut-outs but did a huge 'thanks' sentiment and what I think is the sun above her thanks.

There is a new challenge called Craft Room and it is Anything Goes so here I go on their #1

Papertake Weekly Challenge is also Anything Goes this week.

I'll be entering my card into the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen theme challenge, also. The theme is It's a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday FTTC117-A Double Dose

This week's hostess at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday FTTC117 challenge is Betty Wright and she gave the 'Anything Goes' challenge. Who doesn't love that?
This is my second week to be Guest Designer for the team and I decided to use the beautiful Humming Along set. The card at the top is the one I finally settled on but did another one first:
I thought this one may be a bit too much but I guess that depends on whether you like more or less color.
It was easy to take off the top layer of nestabilities as they were on embossed paper and then just layer them onto white embossed cardstock.

I used the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labesl 4 and the regular Labels 4 die cut. Copics were used for coloring and I am using my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder in the top photo, Textiles. The hummingbird was stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up. I did an 'out of the box' on the image to get it to fit the nestabilitie (bottom leaf). I stamped another leaf to add to with the sentiment, ribbon, and stick pin.

Hope you'll join the team the week for the challenge. Be sure to check the rules and  leave a comment on the team's blogs.
