Celebrating the Season

The Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoaststampers is featuring stampers M-N-O. This one is for Lesley aka Marleygo and this is the card I cased. It was simple to make and I used an embossing folder (given to me by my sis..isn't she great) and 3 snowflake dies. The sentiment was added and it was all finished. Be back later with another QFTD card...may be tomorrow.

Entering this challenge Twisted Tuesday Challenges-Create a Christmas Themed Project...must be clean and simple.

Recipe:

Wedding Card

Here I am with a card I wasn't expecting to make. I decided to get crafty today and make a card I really need.

This is the first wedding card I've ever made. Don't know why, just haven't. I was needing one and today was Featured Stamper today on Splitcoaststampers. The FS is Mary aka MaryR917 and I cased this white on white card of hers. Really, the only part I cased was the color. I had some dies I wanted to use so mine is quite different.

I rolled my roses using a Sizzix die listed below.

My card is entered into the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog-White on White

Recipe:
Stamps-None (inside only)
Paper-PTI white cardstock
Accessories-Cuttlebug textile embossing folder, Cheery Lynn Designs/Victorian Romance Flourish, Spellbinders Classic Heart, Sizzix Flowers-Bigz Die, white pearls, hot glue gun

Holly and Berries

CCEE1249
Cindy Haffner is hostess for the first challenge of December at CCEE Stampers. Her challenge is a fun one and that is to use a favorite NEW die. I just happen to have one and have been anxious to use it.
My die is by Sizzix and is called Holly Branch. It includes the branch, holly leaves, and berries. I covered all of it with Inkssentials Crackle accents.

This was a really easy card, just adding a ribbon and sentiment with some glitter glue around it and another card is ready to mail.

CCEE Stampers-Step Card

CCEE Stampers-challenge CCEE1230

Thanks to Lois/clownmom, I was challenged and tried a technique that I had never done before, a step card. That is what is good about a challenge, I suppose. This was fun, fun. You can find this technique on Splitcoaststampers by none other than our own at CCEE Stampers, Frances Byrne. You can also find a tutorial there for the side step. I chose to do the center step.

I'm using  stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps, A Heinrich Co. called Christmas Wreath Mini and New Pines.

I made a template for my snow by just cutting a piece of cardstock and I got out my Tim Holtz blending tool (love that thing) and some Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and inked it.

Some of the trees were embossed using VersaMark Dazzle and PearLustre embossing powder by Stampendous. The color is Jade. The other trees were stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves,  and not embossed,  to give a farther away look. I think the Jade embossed trees look as if they have some sun shining on them toward the bottom. It's really my lighting.

My card has one of those eye trick things (optical illusions)..when I look at the embossed panel strip on the left, it sometimes looks debossed and other times embossed.  Is it just my eyes or do you see that? It really is embossed. :-)
