Funky

The rain stopped long enough to give us a few snowflakes on Thursday. Wow! We don't know what to do without rain. :-)  We've had at least 13 inches since Dec. 15th. There is a promise of sunshine for several days now and that makes me happy. Our snow didn't stick, just a little on the fence ledge and around a few shrubs and trees. Fingers (and toes) crossed for a big one later this winter.

I am using this Sassy Cheryl's Digis image to join in the challenge at Inspired by Stamping-IBSIC42 where my friend Colleen is a DT member. She has certainly inspired me with her beautiful cards made with IBS images and has enabled me to place a very recent order.  :-)

My image is Funky Bunny and I just think he is too, too cute. The challenge is to use the colors posted below. Aren't they yummy? My sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps/Blessings.
I have gone from snowmen to Easter cards. Would you say I'm getting ahead? :-)

I used PTI white cs with Stampin'Up! Night of Navy cardstock.
The image is colored with Copics and the ink SU Night of Navy.
That's it on this CAS card.

My card is also for the Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers, QFTD148. The queen this week is Brenda aka tessaduck. I am doing a loose case of this card.

For uploading,  I'll probably be away from my blog until Thursday. See you all soon. Have a great weekend.

Easter in Aqua and Yellow

I think my favorite color at the moment is aqua. Plus, I love it for Easter cards. I colored my lilies in a soft yellow and that, to me, looks good with the aqua.

First, before we get to my card, we have three new DT members joining us next week at Friends of Speedy TV.

They are:
Barbara Colbert
Davi Reed
Tammylee Newberry

This week, the Friends of Speedy TV (FOSTV) challenge found at the Home of Speedy TV  is to make an Easter card. I needed a few so I was glad to see that challenge.  I used a Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company stamp set called Blessings for stamping my lily.

If you join the challenge this week and win, you'll receive this wonderful stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co. called Pussy Willows.

My card is made using cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company Aqua Light premium cover card stock.

My aqua frame in the background is a Cheery Lynn Designs A2 frame (small window) die. I used three of  the negative pieces that fell away after I ran it through the machine to put under my sentiment and place some adhesives gems on top of them.

The corners are Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants-Contemporary Hearts.

The right side of my image is a PoppyStamps ivy tendrils and on the left side I used pieces cut from a Memory Box Madera Corner die. At the bottom of the card is part of a Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Romance Flourish peeking out. I sometimes just like to use bits and pieces of dies where something is needed and the complete die won't work.

The card is finished off with blue pearls and Recollections floral embellishments (Flowers).

CAS Challenge Sketch

The CAS (clean and simple) challenge on Splitcoaststampers today is a sketch and I really wanted to make a card for it.
I hope my bunny and tree branch looks brown instead of  black. I had a hard time with that when I photographed.
My sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company and the set is Blessings. The rest of my card is either punches or dies. Recipe below.

A Spring Day-CCEE Stampers

This may be my last post for a few days. Look for my next card on Monday. I was looking forward to a visit with my son, dil, and little one but now I have allergies so bad I don't think I'll enjoy much.
I notice some leaves coming on some trees so I suppose that is the culprit. The things we love can make us so miserable for a while, unfortunately.

The CCEE Stampers are making Spring cards this week and hoping you'll hop over and  join us. Joanne asked that we stamp or create a Spring scene.  Spring and Easter go together as far as I'm concerned so I went along with both. You know this looks like a Spring day, right? :-)  My card consists mostly of punches, die cuts, and a sentiment so it is really easy. I did sponge some clouds and do some paper piecing on the birdhouse and eggs.

I love this branch and it can be used for so many occasions. The last time I used it was to make a Valentine card for my hubby. This time I used it to hang my birdhouse and to let my bird perch.

My recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company set-Blessings (sentiment)
Paper: MFP, A Heinrich Company-Breezy Blue cardstock, gingham check is unknown from local scrapbook store
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic chalk ink-Sea Breeze
Accessories: Memory Box Woodland Branch, QuicKutz bird die, Martha Stewart sitting bunny punch, Martha Stewart Easter Egg Basket punch (eggs), Martha Stewart grass edge punch, black pearl for bird's eye

Lilies

My weekend started really well with a trip to the scrapbook store where I found many new crafting goodies....bought some and left plenty there. Two of the things I bought were a couple of punches to make a lily flower (not used on this card, of course). Maybe I'll get to use it soon.

This pretty, stamped lily is for the Friends of Speedy TV (FOSTV) challenge to use at least three punches. My lily image is from  Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company  Blessings set. I love it and it is fun to color. This challenge can be found at Home of Speedy TV.

My punches:
  • Martha Stewart Wildflowers border punch
  • Martha Stewart ribbon/bow punch
  • Fiskars Decorative Corner Lever Punch-circles
The paper is Mark's Finest Paper, A Heinrich Company-Premium Heavy White and Florida Peach cardstock
I added 2 green pearls and a rhinestone on the bow.

I found a new challenge I want to enter: Always Crafting--Creative Mondays #2-Anything Goes
Also, The Crazy Challenge #107 is to use a punch or die. I used three punches that I listed above.
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #127-Your image must be or include a flower

Thanks for visiting...have a great week.
