Happy Birthday Garett!

Garett had such a fun birthday today! He went to preschool this morning and shared a special treat with his preschool friends. We had a Birthday BBQ for him tonight. Last week I asked him what his favorite food was and his top choices were pancakes or hotdogs, so we settled for Hotdogs and did a BBQ. Grandpa Harper, Uncle Kyle, Micah, Naomi, and Grandma Hardy were able to come celebrate with us.

Opening presents was a lot of fun! He got some transformers,

some Superheros, a giant truck with cars in it, some book of mormon heroes, and a cute church outfit.

I love how his cake turned out....minus the piece that broke off, just ignore that.

I can't believe my little guy is 3!

Sophie and Naomi hanging out together. These two are just 1 month apart.

My first major injury

On Tuesday I had my first trip to instacare. Grace was pulling the towels out of the laundry room and accidentally knocked over a frame we had leaning against the wall. The glass broke and went everywhere. As I was cleaning it up I put the glass shards into a grocery sack. I didn't realize that one shard had poked through the bag and as I knelt down to pick up more glass it gouged my knee. It started gushing blood and I think my exact words were, "Oh Crap!". I yelled to Grace to grab me a towel and limped into the bathroom. I stood in the tub to try and wash my leg off and called Ben. After the 4th phone call he picked up and told him I thought I needed stitches. He had to leave a staff meeting, but came right home. I called my friend Jenny to come sit with the kids until Ben got home and I drove myself to the Instacare.

It was a pretty good cut and I had to have 4 stitches. It hurt a lot and has a nice bruise around it now. Definitely not my funnest moment!

Family Fun

Last Saturday we joined Rob and Kimbria at Hollywood Connection for Elise's birthday party. We had such a fun time!

Garett's Superhero Birthday Party

Garett and his friend Weston Karlsven have birthdays 5 days apart so his mom and I decided to throw them a joint Superhero Party! We had lots of fun planning this and the kids had a blast!
Calling all Superhero's for training...

Every Superhero got a cape and mask. They're showing off their super muscles here.

They all have their initials on their capes.

They had to rescue the puppy by making their way through an obstacle course. They had to show their strength by lifting this weight.

They practiced leaping over buildings.

They chased off an evil villain with water balloons.

They showed their super hitting capabilities by whacking away at the monster.

Grace has some amazing whacking skills and pulverized the thing.

We tried to use our laser vision, but it didn't work so they opened the presents to find out what was inside.

We also had to pin the logo on the Superhero, and had some yummy cupcakes. A big thanks to Megan (my fellow party planner) and her husband Joe who provided the superhero background music and was also our Super Villain. The party was a complete success!

Ben starts School!

Within about a 3 1/2 week span Ben decided he wanted to do his MBA, applied to USU, got accepted as a non matriculated student, attended orientation, got a laptop and went to his first class! He is taking the GRE next week and if he does well enough he will be fully accepted into the program. I am so proud of him and how he's pulled this all together. He's been studying hard and I think he'll do great!
