Happy Birthday Garett!

Garett had such a fun birthday today! He went to preschool this morning and shared a special treat with his preschool friends. We had a Birthday BBQ for him tonight. Last week I asked him what his favorite food was and his top choices were pancakes or hotdogs, so we settled for Hotdogs and did a BBQ. Grandpa Harper, Uncle Kyle, Micah, Naomi, and Grandma Hardy were able to come celebrate with us.

Opening presents was a lot of fun! He got some transformers,

some Superheros, a giant truck with cars in it, some book of mormon heroes, and a cute church outfit.

I love how his cake turned out....minus the piece that broke off, just ignore that.

I can't believe my little guy is 3!

Sophie and Naomi hanging out together. These two are just 1 month apart.

My first major injury

On Tuesday I had my first trip to instacare. Grace was pulling the towels out of the laundry room and accidentally knocked over a frame we had leaning against the wall. The glass broke and went everywhere. As I was cleaning it up I put the glass shards into a grocery sack. I didn't realize that one shard had poked through the bag and as I knelt down to pick up more glass it gouged my knee. It started gushing blood and I think my exact words were, "Oh Crap!". I yelled to Grace to grab me a towel and limped into the bathroom. I stood in the tub to try and wash my leg off and called Ben. After the 4th phone call he picked up and told him I thought I needed stitches. He had to leave a staff meeting, but came right home. I called my friend Jenny to come sit with the kids until Ben got home and I drove myself to the Instacare.

It was a pretty good cut and I had to have 4 stitches. It hurt a lot and has a nice bruise around it now. Definitely not my funnest moment!

Family Fun

Last Saturday we joined Rob and Kimbria at Hollywood Connection for Elise's birthday party. We had such a fun time!

Garett's Superhero Birthday Party

Garett and his friend Weston Karlsven have birthdays 5 days apart so his mom and I decided to throw them a joint Superhero Party! We had lots of fun planning this and the kids had a blast!
Calling all Superhero's for training...

Every Superhero got a cape and mask. They're showing off their super muscles here.

They all have their initials on their capes.

They had to rescue the puppy by making their way through an obstacle course. They had to show their strength by lifting this weight.

They practiced leaping over buildings.

They chased off an evil villain with water balloons.

They showed their super hitting capabilities by whacking away at the monster.

Grace has some amazing whacking skills and pulverized the thing.

We tried to use our laser vision, but it didn't work so they opened the presents to find out what was inside.

We also had to pin the logo on the Superhero, and had some yummy cupcakes. A big thanks to Megan (my fellow party planner) and her husband Joe who provided the superhero background music and was also our Super Villain. The party was a complete success!

Ben starts School!

Within about a 3 1/2 week span Ben decided he wanted to do his MBA, applied to USU, got accepted as a non matriculated student, attended orientation, got a laptop and went to his first class! He is taking the GRE next week and if he does well enough he will be fully accepted into the program. I am so proud of him and how he's pulled this all together. He's been studying hard and I think he'll do great!

Garett Started Preschool

Garett started Preschool on Tuesday. We are doing a preschool co-op with some other moms in our neighborhood. He is excited to be a big boy and go to school like Grace! He did great on his first day. He was a little bit nervous hiding behind me and and being a little grumpy, but as soon as Miss Amy mentioned games he perked right up and went to play. I'm excited that he gets to have something special just for him and that I get to have 2 hours twice a week with just Sophie!

I love this cute face, and my very sweet loving boy. One of my favorite things about him lately is that he says, "I love you, mommy" about 50 times a day.

Just Playing

Sophie's been loving her playmat lately, her favorite thing is to kick the ball and listen to it jingle. The only problem she has is when she scoots herself away from it and can't reach it anymore.

3 months

Sophie is 3 months old today! I have loved every minute I've had with this sweet thing over the past three months! She is such a joy. A few fun facts about our Sophie girl-
*she slept 9.5 hours last night- without eating or even having to stick her binkie back in! Now if Garett would stop waking me up......
*she is so smiley when I get her up from naps. I love that she puts herself right to sleep when I lay her down, she'll usually sleep around 1.5 hours during her naps if she doesn't get interrupted.
*she laughed tonight! She has been on the verge of laughing for about 2 weeks now, but I haven't been able to get it out of her. Tonight she finally broke through and gave me a full out laugh! I loved it and can't wait to hear it again and again!
*she is mesmerized by the fan
* she turned a full circle in her crib. She is starting to move/wiggle more and I think rolling over will be coming soon.
*I feel so lucky to have this sweet baby, I love her so much!
*she still tolerates her siblings love. The other day Grace told me that I will be happy to have her gone to school so she won't maul Sophie as much. She is showered with a lot of love!
* I hardly ever put bows on her head because I just Love to see her hair!
* she is getting some nice rolls on her legs and her cheeks are round and oh so kissable!

Garett loves his sister too, but if you ask him if he's a big brother ( or a super hero, or a big boy, or anything else) he'll say, " I'm not a .........., I'm Garett!". I love that kid!

Life could not be sweeter with my three little loves!

Chinese Jammies!

We love these Jammies! We had a smaller pair for Grace from when we lived in Singapore. When one of Ben's coworkers went back over there we requested some more of these. I had some similar ones when I was a kid too!

Hanging with Daddy

Life is good when you can lounge all singled up with your favorite man in the world!

Playing @ G&G Harper's

We had a fun day at G&G Harper's a few weeks ago. Uncle Kyle came home from his mission for knee surgery so we were able to visit him. Garett thought it was a good idea to slide down the banister.

We went to their Stake Carnival and the kids got their faces painted.

Ben took both the kids out for a ride on Uncle Bryan's motorcycle. They loved it and Ben's been pining for a bike again.

Grace's First Day of Kindergarten

Grace started Kindergarten! She was sooo excited! Her teacher is Mrs. Anderson. Grace is going to a charter school by Ben's work so he will be able to drop her off in the mornings. I took her the first day just in case Grace had any apprehensions about school. She didn't....she wanted me to drop her off at the curb and leave. When I insisted on taking her in she was annoyed and kept telling me to leave. I didn't really get a chance to be sad about her starting school because she was being such a stinker. I guess she's always been totally independent and she is so ready for this new adventure! Plus she looks adorable in her uniform!

We love you Grace and know you will do awesome in school!

Farm Country

Back in June, when Sophie was brand new, and I was exhausted, and Grace was stir crazy, she begged to go to the farm almost everyday. She would frequently tell me that we needed to get out of the house, and then suggest the farm. We finally made it two days before she started school. The baby cow was really glad she came, it kept trying to eat her leg.

We waited in line FOREVER to ride the ponies, but it was worth it. The kids loved it!

Sophie was perfect like always, just hanging out and happy to be there. I LOVE that baby!

Grace told me the other day that I will be happy to have her gone to school so she won't be around to maul Sophie. That poor baby does get A LOT of love from her sister!

We were wiped out from the heat, but I'm glad we made it to the farm this summer!
