This is Halloween

Well, I have fed my addiction for the next couple of days, I think. This little adventure of mine took most of this evening, but it was so worth it! We had a blast today and couldn't have fit more in if we had tried. The girls are extremely happy tonight, and extremely exhausted. It feels as though Halloween has been going on for 2 weeks now, but we are sad to see it end!

Halloween Sneek Peek

So the Halloween festivities have officially begun! Last night we had our big ward/neighborhood Halloween party. (It seems crazy that it is already that time of year again!) I didn't get great pictures, luckily we have Halloween to try again. This was a good run through, now I know what to fix/do different for Halloween Day! Happy Haunting!

Carly was not so sure about the whole thing. She was actually kind of cranky when she walked in and saw all the people she knew not looking like themselves. She wanted to make sure I was holding on to her every second.

Then, it only took a few cookies to get her to smile! Check out her black fingernails, that was her favorite part of dressing up!

I caught myself a few bugs before the night was over! The girls thought it was so great that I dressed up with them (well, I at least attempted to)! No luck from Dad, however...

It's Just Not Right

This is what we woke up to this morning! A few inches of snow! I am so not ready for this. (The girls wanted so badly to go outside and play in the snow but we have yet to buy snow clothes or boots for that matter...) Don't get me wrong, I am all for the comfy feeling of sitting by a warm fire and looking out the window at the snow, but that feeling is not meant for October. It's just as annoying as walking into almost every store and having it full of Christmas stuff already. It's a little early, people (and that includes you, Mother Nature). Let's enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving for what they are, and then we can move on to Christmas and snow! Thank you very much!

I Found Heaven

I have been in desperate need of a little me time lately--so I decided to go to the spa. I have never had a facial before so I scheduled one before I was to get my hair cut and colored. OHHHHHHHHH! It was fabulous! It was a facial/upper body massage and it was wonderful! So much more than I expected. A full 90 minutes of heaven--all to myself. I have no idea why I have never done this before, but there's no stopping me now. Girls day out, anyone?

Ready to Rumble

Ashlyn has been playing soccer this fall. It was her first season and she has had a blast! She didn't want to play at first but we signed her up anyway. Shane has been helping coach the team and it has been so good for Ashlyn! She is actually more athletic and competitive than we thought. She gets right in there and fights for the ball--and she is fast!

It was funny to see Shane get so excited when Ashlyn got her jersey and it was the #6. That was his baseball number...

Shane and I both laugh because Ashlyn got our competitiveness. These soccer leagues no longer keep score because "everybody's a winner", blah blah blah... It drives us both crazy but we have laughed so hard because we are so proud of Ashlyn when she announces the score every time she comes off of the field. She keeps track in her head and makes sure that every member of her team knows if they are winning or losing.

The Happiest Place on Earth

We finally went back to Disneyland in September. It was fabulous! We went for a whole week and I was sad to leave! There is no way I could tell it all or show it all but we had a great time and can't wait to go back! (Well, at least three of us...)

Carly specifically wanted a picture of me wearing the mouse ears! ( I was more than happy to oblige!)

California Adventure was one of the highlights for us. We were basically the only people there and so we just walked onto rides and rode our favorites several times. Ashlyn loved the "big" rides that she could ride here.

Crazy for Characters

From the minute we got to Disneyland our mission was to find all of our "friends". We were pretty successful. I wish I could post all of them but there were so many. We found Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, Chip and Dale, Pinnochio, Captain Hook (my personal favorite), The Incredibles, JoJo, Buzz Lightyear, and Mary Poppins (we thought she was a great find!) and many, many more. The girls thought it was great to get all of their autographs!

I love this picture of Ashlyn and Minnie. One of our favorite mornings was having breakfast with some of the characters!

We LOVED Pluto. The girls thought he was so funny. We had to go back and visit him twice because they thought he was so great.

Winnie the Pooh is by far Carly's favorite. I almost cried when she got to see him (each and every time) because she would jump and clap and talk so fast. We had to ride the Winnie the Pooh ride at least 5 times for her. It was GREAT!

What's a Disney trip without meeting the mouse. Although we saw Mickey several times the girls liked him best as "Wizard Mickey".

For the Love of Princesses...

Ariel was the first Princess that we found. Carly was so excited she was jumping around and clapping her hands. She sure thought she was special when Ariel told her that they had matching hair. Ashlyn was a little mesmerized trying to figure out if she was the "real" Ariel...

Belle thought Carly was so cute!!! When Carly would get her chance to meet a princess she could not contain her enthusiasm. The princesses loved this about her and gave her so much love and attention!

Cinderella still reigns supreme among the princesses. You can't help but get excited to see her. The girls thought she was beautiful. Everywhere we went people would tell us (as if we didn't already know) that Ashlyn looked like Cinderella and Carly looked like Ariel. The girls loved this and would get so excited to see "their" princesses!

Happy Birthday Shane

Shane turns 32 years old today. I feel so lucky to have him for my best friend--what a great catch! He is so willing to do what it takes to make me happy (well, most of the time) and he loves to make me laugh. I love to watch how much Shane loves life--he doesn't let much pass him by without having a great time doing it. Shane can make a new friend wherever he goes and people love to be around him. Happy Birthday Shane, I love you!

Our Cute Family

I decided to try a blog and soon realized that it would be an online version of our family scrapbook. I am so proud of my husband and my girls and the fun that we have together. It makes me happy to share photos with anybody who wants to look! Here's to all of our family's "simple moments". (This one was captured last year during Halloween at Thanksgiving Point. The fear on Carly's face before we entered the spook alley was priceless!)
