This is what happens when you let a strange old man hold a little girl. she really flips out! Its just Santa, but to Olivia it must be the end of the world. We had a lot of fun watching her scream. she would not let go of us after. I think she will recover though.

The beach

For vacation this summer we went to Carolina Beach. We had so much fun! The kids got to experience the sand and ocean for the first time. They both seemed to need some time to adjust to the feeling of sand between their toes. Olivia especially did not like the sand, at least in large quantities. She confined herself to a blanket and would occasionally test the edge with her hand then decide it was still to sandy. Isaac was more tentative with the moving water. He just could not figure out why the water would move so much. It took quite a bit of coaxing to get him to just put his feet in. By the time our vacation was over they both decided they liked the beach so much they did not want to leave.
