Recollection

I was editing some baby videos I had taken previously when Ethan was around three months or so and realise that my baby boy has grown sooooo muuuccchhhh....yup...it's quite incredible!

Yesterday was a really terrible terrible day for me....I was in a real foul mood and the boy was not helping much either by not napping nor eating his lunch. I was cranky, moody and tired(I'm always tired!!!!)!! And to make matters worse, my soya bean pudding turn out UNSUCCESSFUL!!! *sigh* just another day! My only consolation is that my ordeal FINALLY ENDED!!!

Back to the video editing. I can't believe that my boy is so different from those pictures taken when he's at three months!! WOW!!! I guess what my friend said is true; "when you're constantly with him day in and day out, you wouldn't notice the difference but for someone who sees him occasionally, he's really quite different"

Year 2004

Christmas 2004

Year 2005

Notice the difference!?!?! WOW!! Each day is filled with something new and I'm always amazed at what he can learn and what he had learnt. Sometimes when you least expect it, he does something amazing!! There's no words to describe these moments, just cherish them AND have a video cam ready at all times!! ;)

Snaps and Snails and Puppy-dogs' Tails???

I'm on discount!

I don't know if there's any truth to this saying

"What are little boys made of, made of?
What are little boys made of?
“Snaps and snails, and puppy-dogs’ tails;
And that’s what little boys are made of.”"

Well, I don't know what Snaps are and as for snails...in what context are we referring to and as for puppy-dogs' tails......hmmm...

All I know is this...
My little boy is

yah...just woke up..*grins*

a dirt and lint eater. he would search for the smallest piece of dirt unseen (other than at microscopic level)by the naked eye, picks it up and proceed to put it in mouth!

also a bug eater! YES, I say, BUG, he would pick dead/live bugs and puts them into his mouth

grass, sand, mud, soil, leave eater. You have to put as many eyes(as you can possibily have; did I mention that mothers grow extra eyes)on him at ALL times!

a little silly when he sees water. It's a MUST to get himself soaking wet just from washing his hands

a "button-pusher" and wires/cables chewer. He has a NEED to push EVERY SINGLE BUTTONS he sees, that includes, remotes, phones, calculators, etc and chomp at every wires, cables, mouse etc....(as long as they are not connected and with no exposed metal bits, I usually let it slide...BAD MOMMY!)

Have a foot...

NOISY!!!!! and NOSY/curious!!!! When you're talking, he needs to be louder than you are, and he needs to check every single person out in the mall!!!

"HANDSY". New word! Invented through my boy. He HAS to touch and fiddle everything!!! *check the previous entry on "when the police came to my house" and you'll see what I mean*

Cheeky. Each time he does any of the above and gets caught, he gives you this cheeky, silly, goofy grin like he knows he's not supposed to do it but he does it anyway, knowing well he would get away with it! *sigh*

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tough. He would fall, picks himself up, brush it off and continue with what he was doing before; amidst of bruised eyes and knees. He would get a little hug for assurance and go on with life with new confidence!!

Affectionate. He kisses the dog when he sees him and even chases him around the house JUST so to kiss him (we're still working on those kisses, when and how to kiss, he tends to kiss with his mouth open and chasing the dog to kiss is not working out for the dog!!!). He kisses his mommy and daddy in the morning, I guess it's his way of saying "morning, I love you" and before he goes to bed...(still working on those open-mouth kisses). He would frequently come up to you for a hug (yes, to us and the dog too! Dog still hating it!!). He would snuggle in with us for naps and enjoys sleeping on his daddy's chest.

Sweet He would pet the dog(a little harder than he appreciates but still....), he still has his little "baby" innocence ....

and MOST OF ALL,

A HAPPY BOY He laughs at the little things in life; when a butterfly lands on his hand, when the dog licks his face, when he sneezes....he lives life to the fullest and does it with a smile that would melt your heart!!!

And that's my little boy...

So he may eat an occasional bug every now and then and is super active ALL THE TIME!
Bottom line, he's exhausting to look after but he's worth everything and every box of cheerios (private joke!) :D

...I didn't do it....

Queen Amidala??????

Thought I would have some relaxing time and read some blogs. Found a Star Wars' Quiz on one of the blogs I was reading and took it just for the fun of it. It's some sort of character quiz and with all the Star Wars hype, thought it might be interesting.

Haven't got a chance to watch the latest Star Wars addition, have to wait till it comes out on DVD (guess it's gonna be a while....*sigh*). And here's the result of my little "test"...........Queen Armidala!! hehehe..... Never would have thought...LOL

The day the police came to my house....

Yup, today I've join the ranks of all mothers out there. Those who had gone through it will definitely understand my exasperation and embarrassment.

First I need to say that I'm humbled and am ever so sorry to have ever thought that it would be the parents' fault that this happened! I never thought it would happened to me and, BOOM, it did!

Now you would ask, what happened...well....here goes....

Either my son's a genius or is my dumb luck! I was busy today searching for some important documents so I left my extremely ACTIVE child to scamper about the home office while I search through some drawers. He usually plays around with the toys that are already there and every now and then, he would reach for the cordless phone. This time I had the phone right next to me....or so I thought. My little genius had crept next to me and little did I know had taken the phone and started pressing some numbers. In my sole determination in finding those darn documents, I didn't notice what he was doing till I heard the phone ring. I then saw him fiddling around with some buttons and hurried to pick up the phone in case he accidentally hung it up. Well, I picked up the phone but there was no one on the other line so I hung up. Then it rang again, picked it up, still no one on the other line. Ok....I'm beginning to think that my little rascal might have dial some repeat line or something so that it just kept ringing each time the line hung up.

Now ten minutes later, there's some knocking on my front door(I've disabled the doorbell for obvious reasons). I went and see who was it....(I don't often get unexpected visitors) and to my surprise and SHOCK, it was a police officer!!!! OOookkkkkk......so I opened the door and asked if I could help him. He was real nice, he asked if everything was ok(code word for "are you in any trouble, and is your life being threatened in any ways, if so, blink your eyes"). I told him everything was great and from my look, I guessed he probably thought he got the wrong house. Anyway, he told me that someone from THIS house had dialed 911, hung up and when the operator tried calling back, the line was busy!!! OH MY GOD!!!!! I then told him my story and apologized so profusely that he was positively amused by my state of anxiety. He said everything is ok, got my name and DOB so that he can write up this report and was smiling and chalked up to another household with parents who can't keep an eye on their kids.

Ok....by this time I was truly embarassed. I shut the door behind me and was totally humbled. NOW I understand. When I hear a stories about kids who play with phones and had called the police department, and hence wasted the city's resources by having officers coming round their houses just because those parents can't keep an eye on their kids. *Sigh* I really really truly understand now....It's no fault of the parents, sometimes things happened and every so often it happens to you. So before you start judging another, always remember, one day, it might just happen to you....

The only thing is I can't figure out how in the world did a 13 month old boy figured out 911?????? I mean, it's not as if those numbers are next to each other?!?!And to get 911?!?!?!? Okkk...I'm not saying that it's impossible...but COME ON!!! what are the possibilities?? And no, 911 is not on our speed dial, just so we can prevent this kind of incident *SIGH*. Oh well...lesson to this, DON"T EVER EVER LET MY CHILD GET NEAR ANY PHONES OF ANY SORT!!!! Oh yah...here's my little goofball!

"Yah, I'm goofy...hehehehe"
