Alden's First Birthday Celebration

Time flies, and little baby Alden is already 1 year old!

We were at the East Coast Park Chalet last evening for Alden's First Birthday celebration.
Here are some pictures of Amelia and Beatrice. They were having so much fun playing with balloons. And as I carried little Alden in my arm, he was also having fun just by watching his jie-jie play :)

An Adventure: The Tree Top Walk

The weather was PERFECT, and I was really crazy this Easter holiday morning to have suggested that the whole family to venture the HSBC Tree Top Walk. To my surprise, Larry has agreed and we quickly get changed and left for our adventure. By the time we got to Venus Drive, it was about 10am and there was quite a crowd just outside the route towards the tree top walk.

Here was where we began our journey of adventure.
There are several thing we needed to take note of before we proceed with our journey.
- No pets are allowed, as they would disrupt the nature
- No radio is allowed, as it would be a noise pollutant to the nature
- No fishing is allowed, because "long-kang" fishes have "EXTINCTED" :D
And we really have to behave and observe our manners ... like keeping quite. This really put our little Beatrice to the test =)
Here is our little princess with her Dearest Daddy.
Here are some picture we have taken as we entered the path, leading us to the ranger station. The journey from Venus Drive Carpark to the Ranger station takes about 2.9km. If you have ever trekked at the Bukit Timah Hill, the terrain is the similar. There is uphill and downhill tracks, rough and "rocky" ground, some muddy and some tar.
As we entered the nature reserve, there is a stream alongside where you get to see "long-kang" fishes swimming in it. It was really nice and nostalgic. And you might have the urge to bring a net to fish out some to bring back home. Unfortunately, fishing is forbidden there.
There is a lot of walking ahead of us, and we were barely half way there. We were trying to make our little young one walked, and in doing so, we had to create interest in her of her surrounding. There was a row of mimosas along the way, and I pointed them out to Beatrice. That really perks her up a little as she went about identifying the mimosas, and giving them a "friendly touch" to make them folded up.
Finally, we were about to reach the ranger station where we took our break and gotten Beatrice to change to a new set of her attire. They were all drenched with Daddy's perspiration.
After about 4km of trekking, we are finally on the tree top walk.
The view was spectacular, and the breeze was really nice. There were birds chirping on the trees and the rattling sound from the tree leaves. The serenity and the beauty of nature is like a picturesque, and it is a great way to stay away from the hustle and bustle of life.
There are many stairs along the trekking path. Our little young one was really shack out from all the walking and climbing. And so are we.
We have completed our tree top walk, and we were back at the ranger station. Now, we have to trek another 2.9km back to our car from the ranger station.
Here are some photos to share on the beauty of nature.
Dew drops collected from the morning mists.
Fungi growing on the logs.
Red dragonfly.
An orange butterfly resting on the suspension bridge.

Here is our interview with Beatrice on her experience with the walk and on the tree top walk.

Well, I must say that bringing our young one for such trekking activity is not an easy task. Daddy has to carry her for almost 3/4 of the journey, and his remarks was," This is even tougher than road march!" Indeed, our little one is about 15kg, and she is really reluctant to walk. The only thing that thrilled her the most, are the flights of stairs where she gets to climb up and down. Other than that, it was, " Mommy, carry me" or "Daddy, carry me".

This is THE MOST crazy ideas I have come up with. Guess it will be a while before we venture back to this beauty tree top walk. Meanwhile, we will try something less stressful and of a much shorter distance.

Not for the faint heart, DEFINITELY.

Beatrice and Dancing

Shopping and making purchases can be quite painful when you have a young children who is eagerly wanting to mimic the way you shop. So, in order to have a "fuss free" purchase, this is how I would keep Beatrice occupies whenever I shop.

The music in the shop must be right and upbeat. And we will usher Beatrice to a mirror, which she will automatically know what to do. Well, this "mirror practice" has indeed given Beatrice much confidence in her co-ordination skills, and the rhythm senses in her dance move has also improved.

Keegan's 3rd Birthday!

We were invited to Keegan's 3rd Birthday last Sunday. His birthday party was held at Kallang MacDonald's, with an indoor mini playground. It was indeed a great choice by mommy Karen, as the weather was really crazy for anything outdoor nowadays. Look at the children, there were having so much fun, even though the sliding tube was really really ... "dainty".
We were ready for the cake cutting ceremony. With the birthday boy, Prince Keegan eagerly waiting for his power ranger cake to be cut, and all the children already assembled beside him for the birthday song, the MacDonald's staff is still delivering her speech ...
The children were waiting to sing Prince Keegan the birthday song.
Finally, the cake was cut. And here are pictures of mommy Karen and daddy Derrick with their birthday boy, Prince Keegan!

And here are more pictures to share.
And this is a picture of the Year 2006 babes, starting from Left to Right:

January, February, March, April and May!

Here is mommy Elise, who will be delivering her baby girl, Arielle in early May. And with her is daddy Mervin and Prince Hector. A Family Shot!
This is our cute little couple! Prince Keegan and Princess Beatrice :D

This is our little vainty girl trying to pose for the camera. Really not too sure where did she learn such pose from. Stressed are we, when we saw her posing in this manner. Arrgghh...

Unpredictable Weather ...

These days, the weather is really unpredictable. And it really upset our plans for outdoor activities over the weekends. With the increase of HMFD and chicken pox among little children, we have been vigilant and we have been reminding our little one to observe her personal hygiene too.

These are some picture to shares. Other than the usual window shopping we would indulge in over the weekends, we have also brought our little one to the library for some quite reading. She really enjoys herself, especially so when she gets to pick from the wide selection of books she wants to read. And she learns to "Keep Quite" when we are in the library. Well, she is trying hard, and surprisingly, she can really behave quite well :D
Our little one is so engrossed in this little story about a sea snail who is so bored with his mundane life. When he decided to hitch a ride on a whale, and have an eye opening travel around the sea. Making his life so interesting!
Here are some pictures to share, of our unpredictable weather.

Beautiful weather and warm sunshine. Just right for everything we can do under the sun!
In the next hour, the sky was darken and lightning appears.
Rain started to pour from the sky, and the dark clouds moved so quickly from AMK towards us. And a series of lightning and thunder followed.
Finally, the rain was here to stay ... for hours. And it dampened our plans.
